The service is top notch and with only 2 gentlemen working in the shop, the wait is non existent! Kind, efficient, and well seasoned food with mega portions is what you can expect from this establishment. My andras ordered the Gyro Combo. When I tell you it was PACKED with fresh, hot meat? That was the largest gyro and fries combo I have EVER seen for under $15! With a can or bottle drink to boot! The meat was tender and juicy (Yes, I did the squeeze test for the juice check) it ran down his bread! It was SEXY (Thank you Father for marriage). The fries were fresh and hot and was enough for two people to share. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Combo, no bread (ya'll know I'm trying my BEST to be faithful in the Gluten-Free Game). I was expecting the chicken to be served up on a bed of lettuce, that sort of thing. It was so much more. It came in a 20oz bowl that was JAM PACKED with the most seasoned, juicy, chicken thigh, Shawarma (put your hands up for the dark meat) topped with sweet onions, pickles, and (enter in the violins) the best garlic sauce I have ever had! Gyro meat was amazing, fries with feta was great but the service was blah. Not from the area and didnt realize they closed so early. Thought I would eat and enjoy my meal but my food was delivered to my table a to go bag. Didnt pick up they were closing in 10 minutes. Stopped in for a quick lunch to go as it has been nearly a year since my last visit (which we really enjoyed). It took just under 10 minutes from placing my order to it being ready which was faster service than I expected. I got a gyro combo meal and my husband got a hamburger combo meal. The combo meals come with a bag of fries and you pick a drink from the fridge. Drink options were sodas, bottled water, tea, & strawberry lemonade. The gyro combo is enough for two. The gyro was STUFFED full of meat and I really enjoyed it (4 stars). Couldn't finish it. The fries were large in portion and thick cut (3 stars). They could have cooked a little longer to our preference however my husband had no problem devouring all of his. The hamburger left something to be desired (2stars). My husband only ate a few bites. Honestly, if you walk into a Gyro place and that skewer isn't already turning on that spindle cooking that meat, then you won't get fresh seared slices of meat for your gyro, then walk back out because I should have done that because that is exactly what I saw when got here on Saturday. They already had sliced lamb meat and basically warmed it up on a grill with no sear whatsoever. When I got this sandwich home, it was bland, tasteless and welp, it wasn't good at all. From the customer service to the food, this is my favorite family owned restaurant in all of Mansfield! It was my first place I tried a gyro and no where has compared since. I get it every time, however I recently went and they added a Philly cheesesteak to their menu. I got it and I was not disappointed. Just plain bad food. Stopped in here on my way through TX. I've had gyros all around the USA and around the world. Gyros should not be crispy. The meat was uncomfortably dry and the gyro was just bad. Even the fries were lacking any flavor. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day but it seems unlikely. I came here because I checked the ratings for all the restaurants near the hotel and this was rated the highest. I don't know if the locals are just not used to eating actual gyros but if you've ever had one elsewhere, I highly advise skipping this location. I searched on Yelp for a good Gyro plate and drove about 15 mins to this ship as it was highly rated. Upon walking in, it was very clean, extremely nice people working there and my food was ready incredibly fast. The entire way home my mouth was watering, man if I could find the right words to describe how wonderful it smelt. I got home and immediately opened my container. I nice portion of meat, falafel and hummus along with several pita breads. The gyro meat is outstanding, gams down. The garlic sauce I dipped it in has a horrible mayonnaise taste, not really a garlic taste. The falafel was some in the worst I've tried, it was flavorless and soggy. It tasted like it was a few days old and warmed up. Lastly, the hummus was tasty and smooth but the pita bread was so oily I couldn't even eat it. New manager is nothing but a professional snob who talks like a friggin robot. Their food has slightly declined in flavor but still good enough (old flavor was the best I swear) They've made modifications to their combos which I like but they've started charging $.50 for their hot sauce which is BARELY even full.
