We drove almost an hour to Kelly due to the advertised price on a new truck, which was very competitive for sure. The salesman, Owen was very friendly and helpful. We ended up wanting to buy a more expensive truck they had on the lot. We thought we had a deal until the numbers for our trade went down by a $1000. We decided to sell the car privately and not trade it in to Kelly. After that decision, we were told that now we had to purchase the Zurich warranty that we had previously been told was optional. Things started to spiral after another couple arrived and began showing interest in the truck that was now ours to lose. Needless to say, we left the dealership after the these two issues and the other couple bought the truck. The manager, Kim it think, never even made an effort to get off his A$$ and come speak to us. Instead he just had the salesman deliver the messages. I gave Toyota of Hamburg a 5 * review when I had a tire issues. Now I give it a 2* review, I was mislead regarding my oil maintenance plan I purchased when I purchased my vehicle. I asked many ? regarding the plan & when I go to get my oil changed, they tell me that it's every 10,000 miles, but was told every 5000 miles before I purchased the plan. Had another issue when I went get my tires rotated & they broke a lug nut, they said they would call me to have it replaced when they received it. I never received a phone call & when I had my uncle replace my front brakes, he told me I had a lug nut missing & another one cracked, which I realized I never received that call. Today 1/11/2025, I went to get my oil change & asked to speak to a supervisor & was told that the general manager would be in. I told him everything that happened & as he was sitting there listening to my complaint, he was just looking at me as if he was bothered by my complaint. If you want to be ripped off then this is your place, told I was getting the best deal with 2 year old Rav4 limited and my 4Runner trade, my fault I fell for it then they sold my 4runner for over $4,000 more then they gave me. I did argue the price but was again told best deal. I paid over $1000 for zyliss coating and it was put over (I am still doubting it was even applied) a dirty spotted car. Called to voice my opinion was told it was put on. Then I called the GM and left a message on how it felt to rip off senior citizens he left one message and never called back. PLEASE never buy from Kelly. I have purchased from Ertley 1984 Celica (showing my age) in Kingston, Toyota of Scranton 2011 Venza, Hazleton Toyota 2016 4Runner and Motorworld 2008 Tacoma. I had a great experience repairing my Corolla at Kelly. I'd give 7 stars if I could. Seeing they only have 2 out of 5 stars does not represent the service I received. I can see big purchases or perceived bad trades can leave people bitter. Sometimes people can be unreasonable. Here's my story. I worked with Mark G in the service dept. He's EXCELLENT!!!! I had a complex issue resulting from multiple failing parts. Initially, they changed out a part that was bad, but the issue remained. They took the car back and continued to work on it. They replaced another part and the problem remained. They escalated the issue to the Toyota Engineering team. With their help, the Kelly mechanics were able to fix the root cause of the issue. This root cause issue likely caused the other 2 failures they had already repaired. Those first 2 parts failed due to the vibration caused by the transaxle failure. Kelly was the 2nd repair shop I used for this repair. The first shop is prominent in the area for great work. They were not able to fix it. They did not want to throw parts at this complex issue. So they also did their best. So overall, I have to say that Kelly Toyota did a fantastic job with a complex repair. The total cost was less than $1500. Great job to the Toyota team!!!! read more

We purchased 2020 Jeep Compass with Kelly Toyota in February. Less than 24 hours after driving off the lot, the check engine light came on. We purchased the car on a Friday and imagine that when they couldn't see us in service until Monday which puts your 3 day money back out the window. Cleared the code and changed the spark plugs and sent her on her way. Less than a month later the check engine light is back on and it's over heating. Take it back AGAIN and the same mechanic who changed the plugs looks at it this time, too. States the new plugs are already corroded and he believes it to be a head gasket issue. They send it to Kelly Jeep in Emmaus where they had it for a week and a half. When I called for updates, they had no idea what I was even talking about and told me I needed to call Toyota. They returned the Jeep with an empty gas tank and filthy floor mats of mud and dirt- along with no diagnostic information. Was simply told they could not replicate the situation, but added coolant. Service manager at Toyota said if it happened again, to drive it right to them and they would look at it immediately- no appointment necessary. It over heated again and we drove it right to the Toyota dealer only to be turned away due to no appointment. Took it back the following Tuesday for the scheduled service. Hours later with no update, I called to check in. Somehow, the key got stuck in the drop box and they never touched the jeep. Was told they would call Kelly Jeep first thing in the AM to find out what they did or didn't do the last time and imagine that... they in fact did not call first thing. I called around 12:30 and got the guys personal phone instead of the business. He was on lunch. He returned my call a little after 2pm to tell me that Kelly Jeep never had a record of the jeep being in their shop. I asked if it had even been touched by a mechanic at this point. His reply was "well it's been sitting in the shop since last night". Never EVER in my life have I been so jerked around by a business. I would have given ZERO stars if I could have. Stay as far away from this place as you can. read more

I can see that I am not alone with having an issue of terrible customer service at this location. In the past we have had issues with getting services here. I needed help unlocking my tires on my 2004 highlander after another place broke my key. Instead of really helping the woman at services didn't seem to know what the key was, and they were more or less insinuating they should be doing the tire job there. They made claims they couldn't order the part or that it would take a "day" to even get it. I saw it as just way to get more money out of me. I'd steer clear of this location. read more

I recently purchased a Toyota Certified 2014 Tundra Daul Cab SR5 5.7v8. The deal on the truck was a good price but the service following has been awful they did not change the oil in the truck as required as one of the characteristics of a Certified Toyota. A number of the prep work for a certified they did not do. They actually put the brake rotors in my truck for me to put on because "they did not have someone there to install them." at the time of pick up. Be very careful buying a certified used Toyota here because I truly believe that they are not doing the point inspection and making the vehicle meet the Toyota Certified standards. Which is very shady. I am in the process of filing a complaint with Toyota Corp. It took me 20 calls and all day just to get the bill of sale for my lender. It is an environment that does not care about the customer and does not live up to the Toyota brand standards. Be sure to buy elsewhere I know I will. Wife and sales rep went inside to talk numbers and start the paperwork, so I took one more lap around the lot to compare new prices vs. used prices. Wanted to make sure buying used vs. new was the right decision for us. Found a NEW vehicle (3 YRs newer, 0 Miles), the next trim package up (2017 Toyota RAV4 XLE vs. 2014 Toyota RAV4 LE) with a "hang tag" displaying a price just $4000 more than the USED vehicle we were looking to purchase. *****The sales rep looked the vehicle up, and said the tagged price on the vehicle was a mistake, and that the "Hang Tag" inside the vehicle-WITH CLEARLY MARKED PRICE-was incorrect. This vehicle was in the first row, facing the road way-with the large "Hang Tag" visible from street level. *******The price that was clearly shown in the vehicle windshield, was not the true price of the vehicle????!!!!!**** Sales Manager was dismissive and unapologetic, and claimed it was a mistake. *******SALES MANAGER WOULD NOT HONOR THE PRICE CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON THE "HANG TAG" INSIDE THE VEHICLE". We were in search of a new vehicle and gave Freedom the first shot since it was closest to our home. Waste of time for us. The only positive was the sincerity of the salesman feeling awful after he realized the manager tried to play us. I was very black and white, I made my phone calls, specifically told them what I wanted to spend, and that my time was limited. No one wants to sit at a dealer for a long time. I don't have patience and have to arrange sitters for our children, I want it cut and dry and get the deal done. We arrived, and we went through the whole "trade in evaluation" which I felt was a scam from the start. We all know you can look online at many sites to get a good estimate of your trade in. They played us through the whole computer eval, and then quickly clicked off the screen once submitting saying "lets give it time to evaluate" We all know it is done in seconds. I feel that was done so we didn't see the price it gave back. Needless to say, and to save time here...we gave an amount per payment we were willing to spend. They came back with an amount $200 more than what we stated. To me, then, the deal was over. I wasn't playing games. They then tried to say the manager had the models confused and gave us wrong statement. I did not believe that. We then showed them a lease deal from a competitor, they said they would match...however, they didn't. They were matching the initial down payment but then also wanting our trade as additional payment. That isn't matching. Lets not forget they tried to offer us $1800 under what our trade was valued at....when we called them out on it, they changed their tune and offered the full trade in value too. Needless to say we left, and went to another dealer. That same day, I contacted Independence Toyota, about 40 miles north of our home (Freedom is 30 miles south of our home) and within 8 days of my initial email to Independence, we had a brand new, better model (went from an LE Plus to an XLE) with the best price within the Tri State area. No games, gave us exactly what we wanted. We ended up BUYING instead of leasing since it was such a great deal!! The salesman tried his best to bring us back to Freedom, but as polite as I could, I told him he lost the sale because they tried to play us for more money. We were very detailed in our finances, and they didn't respect that, and didn't offer us the best deal. They did come back and offer to beat Independence by $500 however I told them- Independence did exactly what we asked, I wont pull the sale from them after I , and Independence did all the work. My advice, if looking for a Toyota and live near Hazleton Pa....Independence Toyota is worth your drive and time. I will never go back to Freedom, complete waste of a vacation day. read more

I was looking for a new car because at the prior dealership i had a bad experience ive heard a lot of good things about freedom, I took a day off work to shop around and went to freedom, I deposit down on a car with a credit card because i still had a fee more places to shop, when I tried to get me deposit back i was told on saturday they do not do that on weekend, understandable, I called for weeks straight and left messages and wouldn't even receive a call back, my only option was to file a dispute to get my money back, I have not yet bought a car, but after that poor service I will not buy a car from them nor refer there services to someone else read more

I bought my 2008 Toyota from Freedom Hamburg (new) 8 years ago. It was a lengthy process with a lot of frustrations. I should of walked away, but invested so much time, I wanted to stick it out. Currently, still have that car but in the market for a preowned van. I have been searching on Autotrader, and a Sienna popped up. I was hesitant knowing what I went through 8 years ago. I called and spoke with a internet specialists who assured me the vehicle was available. I asked to use my credit card as a hold since I had a 40 minute drive. I was planning on leaving within 15 mins. She declined, stating that the manager doesn't allow that. She also told me someone was coming at noon to look at that vehicle. Of course I didn't believe that. I asked her again if the vehicle was definitely there and not sold. She said yes I have the keys. So I quickly packed up, got a babysitter for my 3 kids, and drove 40 mins. Upon arrival, she greeted me and went to go pull up the van. She came back 5 mins. later saying she had bad news. When she grabbed the van keys there was a sign inside saying sold. I was so heated! The manager spoke with me saying she didn't see that info on the website. After my 2008 experience and now this I will never go there again! This all could have been avoided if she would have doubled checked to make sure it was def. not sold and not just if the keys were still there. Maybe more training on their part will help the employees better navigate their internet searches. Either way, I hope this never happens to anyone and this reassures me that I won't do business with them ever again! read more

I agree with first post...if I could rate a zero I would! This place is awful! I purchased a vehicle from Ryan G after my parents purchased one almost a year earlier. The entire process was a joke. The referral bonus, after multiple times calling Freedom my parents never received it! I should have pulled out of the deal when I found out two days later he sold me a vehicle that was actually already "sold". I put money down the day of agreed sale and that's when I was hooked into a bad deal. I had to wait one month for freedom to locate another vehicle of the same caliber and when it was located in VA they insisted on driving it to the dealership! Are you kidding? NO I purchased a vehicle with no mileage and one that had never been driven for a reason. With a fight, they complied to have car brought to dealership via truck (hence the 1 single star!) Don't buy the extended warranty it's a joke on the consumer because its not a Toyota warranty like they tell you but rather a freedom specific warranty where you have to come back to them for service! Why would I want to do that? I absolutely hate this dealership and warn anyone considering to shop here! They want nothing to do with you once you sign that paperwork! Slimy salespeople, lying sales managers, this place should be ashamed of themselves. Oh I also love the rinse off with the hose and the "hand washing" with no soap so that my special flint mica metallic paint shows the beautiful art that is water and dirt moved around in circular motions! First of all the slimy salesman did anything to make a sale, he lied, rushed me, did not allow me to drive the car for a test drive other than in a circle on the parking lot! I went on Black Friday and arrived early at6:20 am. A salesperson named Raj walked over. I said I was looking for a car and my friend recommended a Corolla. I knew nothing about a Corolla. He immediately took us to his desk, my friend was along. Immediately he asked for the license of the person the car would have it's name on. Next we went to parking lot, it was dark outside het, all cars were covered with snow. We walked by only three or four Corollas. I had no chic of value like I said I wanted. There was a red one so I looked at it with snow covering it. He started it and let me sit in, told me I could just drive around one time in the parking lot amid a lot of cars! We went inside. I was stressed the worst part was ne lied to me after I asked what the insurance would be on this car compared to the car I had, a Subaru Legacy, o3. He said not much more at all! I told him I was currentlypaying 240.00 dollars a year.next he said he called my insurance affect and got the answering machine and they would not be open until 9am! Another lie! The machine said " sorry we are not in today due to a long holiday weekend, we will return Monday " so Raj told me " well you are covered under your current policy and you can call your agent when you get home" he lied to make a sale. He had me under the impression I would pay just a little more for insurance. Then his manager came over and sat down to talk price, he looked mad, his face all red! He kept saying I do not want to argue each time I asked the price! I was quoted a much lower price at first but Raj said it was a mistake! He took the paper I signed over to the manager and he came over and said it wqs a mistake the price is a thousand more! What bull! They are scam artists! Long story short, I am stuck with a car that I hate the rear window in because the big head rests are a hindrance they block my view. That is a hazard. Not power seat on my side. I was never told that my insurance was going to be five times higher than on the Subaru! I found that out on Monday afternoon, Dec. 1. I am living in a nightmare to the tune of 17,250.00. When I called for a refund I got the run around. I was refused to speak to the owner, Eric Savage. Some manager called me and said I could bring the car in and I would loose 795.00 but they will find me a more suitable car. No way! I contacted the attorney general. I want out totally due to false statements, liars a d hungry wolves who prey on innocent women like me! I drove to this dealership to look at a used 2013 Tundra. I was greeted by Weston, he let me drive the truck even before we started talking trade. Unfortunately we didn't make a deal and I left to see another truck at another Toyota dealer about 40 miles away. I was greeted by a sales associate, drove another truck, struck up a deal and then was informed that "they" couldn't take an out of state check and a large amount of cash. While at this dealership I called back to Freedom Toyota and spoke to the Finance Manager, Shaun. He told me that they wouldn't have an issue with a check with proper ID. I immediately called Weston, made an appointment to see him the next morning. I arrived at Freedom Toyota at 9:00AM, and drove away a very happy and satisfied customer. Even though the trade was literally a couple of hundred less, I got a great deal on the "wrap" Toyota Extended Warranty, this and the all around buying experience will bring me back to Freedom Toyota when the time arises for me to replace my daily driver. Very misleading advertising and promotions, Internet sales gave me different information than you get once you visit the dealership and start working with the sales staff. Internet uses edmunds for trade in values and quote much higher estimates than they will actually offer you. Once you are at the dealership they use Kelly blue book and offer lowest values. Sales manager was of no help whatsoever when trying to negotiate a deal. When we could not come to terms on a new Rav he offered no other options on models or even on a used (2014 Rav with less than 4k miles on it) that we mentioned we were interested in. Just seemed like they did'nt want to deal with us since we're were not looking for top of the line models. Salesman was not a problem but the sales manager who provided the prices and trade in values was of no help whatsoever. Over the years our family has purchased 16 cars from Eric Saveage but never again. I will say the staff at the Hyundia dealership was great and we had purchased two cars from them in the last year and were treated like a customer should be treated. The Toyota dealership just should no interest in selling us a car. Due to how I was treated in the past we went 60 miles out of our way to try to make the purchase at freedom but will never go there again. read more
