I would give this a 3.75 star rating. There definitely are pros and cons to this place. Parking was super-easy. Although they don't take reservations they seated us promptly, though outside dining was not available, the view was very nice anyway. I ordered a margarita, it was fair and did not have enough ice, would not order that again. I ordered grilled grouper, coleslaw along with baked potato. It wasn't bad, but not so great either, a bit bland. Also, if going to dinner I expect good service. Our server, Alex was great. He was very attentive and professional without being over-bearing, great job Alex! The bartender, Buddy, was kind enough to take some photos on the patio and was warm and very personable. We enjoyed chatting with Buddy. This restaurant was featuring stone crab which we did not order. Overall a nice evening but food could have been better. read more

The selection was great. We were seated promptly and served by the greatest server. She was informative and helpful with our decisions. Our salad & coleslaw were tasty and crispy with fresh vegetables. The hush puppies were perfect and crunchy outside and cooked throughout. Our seafood was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were happy to see ice cold water and drinks served on such a hot evening. We definitely will return on other trips to Naples. I really liked this place. I like how you can dig into delicious stone crab claws, get butter and sauce all over the place and not feel like a pig. This place has a great vibe, maybe it was just the company I was dining with, but we all had a really great time. The decor is umm... retro? But it makes it feel more casual, like you're at someone's house. I was wearing a skirt and didn't feel overdressed, although a lot of the people were wearing t-shirts and flip-flops. One of the people in my party had dined at Kelly's many times. He told all of us, "Get the large -not jumbo- stone crab claw dinner." All six of us ordered the exact same thing. You get a salad, baked potato or fries, and 5 stone crab claws served warm or cold. The salad was basic, I like ALL things potato, and the crab was fan-f*cking-tastic. It comes with melted butter, and what everyone kept referring to as "mustard sauce" but I thought the sauce tasted more horsradish-y and I really liked it. My boyfriend ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer and it was great. We also had a huge basket of hush puppies (I've never had them before) and now I'm addicted. Just a warning, They "float" the rum in the pina coladas (yeah I ordered one, I was on vacation!) so if you don't stir it, you might get a mouthful of rum... and you might get tipsy after one or two sips... or maybe that was just me. After a great Saturday at the Naples Stone Crab Festival we naturally were looking to enjoy more seafood. We settled on Kelly's (located right across the bridge on the water) and were lucky enough to be seated at one of Charlotte's tables. She was friendly, made great suggestions and was very efficient. The bacon wrapped scallops were excellent; crispy bacon on the outside and sweet scallops on the inside. As my wife likes Red Grouper but prefers it "almandine," they were kind enough to mix the menu a bit and prepare it as she wanted. It was perfect. read more

Went here back in June on my anniversary trip and it was so delicious! The staff was friendly and accommodating given COVID circumstances. From oyster appetizer, hush puppies that tasted like home (I'm from NC) to my juicy lobster, this place knows what they're doing with seafood. If you really love fried fish and rude Managers then this is your place. Let's start with our call to see if we could get reservations. My wife called at 6:10 and was told if we came right now there would be no wait. So the drive took about 20 minutes. I checked in with the manager at the front desk and was told a FEW minutes and she wrote my name down. My wife and daughters were taking pictures by the canal outside so I went and got them. When I came back in a FEW minutes later, I was told it would be about 20 to 25 minutes. Since when is a FEW minutes 20 to 25?? So when we were finally seated my wife and I ordered the drink special which I believe had little or no alcohol in it at all. Bad choice. First we ordered the New England clam chowder. Tasted ok but was so watery it shouldn't have been called chowder, maybe soup or broth. Next came the salads, of which I asked mine to be without onions. Guess what? Yes, had onions on it!! So after returning it, the next one was pretty good as far as house salads go. Next was the entrees. Bland, tasteless fish. Watery Mahi-mahi. Fish Kabobs that had more onions and peppers then fish. Fried shrimp and scallops that had soft, wet breading that just ruined the taste. Sorry, wouldn't recommend Kelly's to any of my friends or even my worst enemies. read more

The people leaving 1 star reviews seem like young millennials (and younger) who have no concept-nor appreciation-for classic old Florida dining because they're too interested in photos of trendy food for their Instagram feed. Kelly's is a step back in Florida history, when you went to have grouper with your grandparents who taught you about classic cocktails and crab fingers. That vibe is still there. The staff is great, everyone is friendly. The grouper is still fantastic and OMG the hush puppies. Usually the most unremarkable thing on any menu, Kelly's has perfected these to be like crispy little less-sweet cake/cornbready donuts. They're so good. The interior looks just like it used to with the curio tables filled with memorabilia. It's so nice they're still there and I highly recommend if you're looking for a classic fried fish platter to head their way. You will love it! read more

We had a reservation for dinner which they were able to seat us for early as the restaurant was empty. However, we were seated in three separate sections as a larger party. Being in three separate sections, we had three separate waitresses for two tables. The waitresses did not communicate with one another. The food was brought out with many missing sides and sporadically. On top of all this confusion, my meal, kabobs, was completely undercooked. The fish, onions, and rice were underdone with the other veggies hardly cooked with the sausage being overcooked. It was overpriced and touristy. We had dinner which started at 430. We arrived at 4:40 and got a great table. There is NO outside dining at this time which I don't understand. The server explained some things on the menu. They have 3 sizes of stone crab legs which we didn't get. My wife ordered the Red Snapper and I order the salmon from Scotland ( why?) which was farm- raised she said. ( so shouldn't it be cheaper? . Mine was 27 and my wife's was 24. This includes your choice of salad, house or Caesar. 4/5 strings beans which were tasty and choice of fries or baked potato. My wife had the fries which were very ordinary. My potato had a bad spot but I'm sure they didn't know. My wife says the red snapper was tasty and cooked properly. My salmon came with a creamy dill sauce on the side which was just okay. It was cooked just right but was pretty ordinary- no special flavoring. There was a lot of boat activity outside which was fun to watch. Get a window seat! They have non- fish dishes as well hamburgers or grilled cheeses for the kids. It was pretty noisy. The restaurant filled up rather fast and after 1 hour was almost full. Our waitress was super busy and actually forgot we had eaten! Funny. It's a worthy place but I'd go for lunch to save a few bucks. They have a separate fish shack on the property which is probably super informal. No one was dressed up btw so shorts and a T-shirt are okay in the dining room. Sandals as well. read more

Kelly's is a must-go restaurant if you are in Naples. I have been frequenting this restaurant for over 10 years and the quality remains superb. When you step into the restaurant you are transported into a nautical heaven that makes me feel like a mermaid. The glass shadow box tables are filled with exquisite shells and bits from the sea. There are even shells embedded into the support beams of the restaurant. My 6-year old loved pointing out all of his favorites. Each table is given a basket of hush puppies that are crispy on the outside, and warm and soft on the inside. I don't know what's in them, but they are delightful. You can't go wrong with any of their cocktails, and there is usually a weekly special concoction. I tried the new watermelon martini. A tad sweet, but very fun to try new flavors. I also had the house salad. Their Thousand Island dressing is different from any I've ever had and makes some simple lettuce taste like a million bucks. For my main course, I had the stone crab. Kelly must have some magic bait in his fish traps, because he reels in the biggest and sweetest crab claws you will ever have in your life. Served with a dish of hot butter and a lime wedge, you can have your crab meat buttery or with a splash of citrus. Kelly does his best to make his rounds and meet each guest. His customers are important to him and he will make sure that you leave with a smile. Lastly, I had the key lime pie for dessert. The crust is very crumbly and the filling is so light, it melts in your mouth. If you haven't tried Kelly's, I'm begging you to trust me- it's fabulous! read more

There are wooden tables with glass tops filled with sand and shells, servers who know exactly what they are doing, chefs who can cook the hell out of some lobster tails. If that is up your alley then come on in. The prices were so affordable. We spent $100 for dinner on 2 eight ounce perfectly cooked Florida lobster tails, salads, hush puppies, a huge plate of stone crabs, a bunch of cheap beer, baked potatoes and fries and really good key lime pie. Save room for Shirley's Key Lime Pie-so light and smooth, not too sweet and won't make you pucker from the sourness of the lime. We have dinner here when we come to Florida once/year (yes, we are snowbirds from WY)-it's become a tradition. One thing to remember, stone crabs are not cheap. A friend invited me here and I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. Not to worry! Everything was excellent. The hush puppies were piping hot. My grouper bites on Caesar salad were excellent. The key lime pie was about the best I've ever had. Creamy, melt in your mouth, fresh graham crackers......delicious. I don't like most fancy restaurants - small portions and large prices don't mix in my book, I'll pay the cash, but I want a real meal. Kelly's provides that type of experience. Located on the water in Naples, this is one of the oldest dining establishments. Great location, unattractive building on the outside. Interior is fine-not fancy but not dumpy. There is a great bar on the waterfront deck. I ordered the Kelly's Fish House Platter which included lobster tail, clams, oysters, fish (can't remember type), shrimp. All fried with a pretty light batter. Great stuff. Also comes w/salad and hushpuppies which are terrific. BP/fries/rice/veggie sides to choose from as well.
