Visited Crystal River for a few days. Cold spell brought the Manatees into the springs. Awesome, hundreds of them. In talking to a few locals it was suggested to try Kelly's. Not to inviting from outside; middle of strip stores. Once in realized this was the right place. Fairly busy, we sat at bar and was immediately acknowledged. Had menus and a drink in minutes. Had time to look over menu and observe staff. Impressive how efficient the servers were. No wasted motions and attentive to each customer. It was good energy. We are staying in Cedar Key which is about an hour from Crystal River. We drove over during our CK stay and enjoyed the Pub. I got Poutine and my wife got fish and chips. The wedge salad looks really good and I intend to try it soon...I'm a fan of balsamic vinegar and glaze and you'll see from pics it's looking good. By far the BEST Irish Pub I have ever been to in my life ! We started with oyster on the half shell (we had 2 dozen) meatiest calamari, bacon wrapped scallops, lobster bisque, and my dinner was an amazing lobster roll....YUMMY! My cocktail of choice was a jalapeño Paloma I had 2 and for dessert key lime pie.....BEST DINNER EVER! Now let's talk service , amazing staff , straight up on top of their game ! YELLOW FIN TUNA SASHIMI Wild panko crusted tuna, seared rare. Served on cusabi slaw, topped with crispy wontons & a teriyaki drizzle has replaced the Sashimi On Watermelon Radish With House Horseradish Sauce and I'm soooooooooo sad. I posted a pic of the original Sashimi on Watermelon Radish. I'm posting a pic of the new version. The original was sheer perfection. I could eat it every day. Then they changed it. Totally. There is a generous amount of sashimi, but that's were the similarities end. I loved the seaweed salad placed on top of the original one, but now the sashimi is placed on top of a cusabi salad which is so spicy I can't eat any of it. The original had a House Horseradish Sauce. OMG!!! I didn't use the soy sauce or the wasabi that came with the original one because the house sauce was awesome. Now it's served with a teriyaki drizzle, just salty teriyaki. I really wish they would bring back the original. Maybe it was too difficult to get watermelon radishes that caused the change. If so, nix the radishes and place the sashimi on the seaweed salad. If the the seaweed salad is too hard to get nix that and tone down the heat on the slaw. But, please, bring back the House Horseradish Sauce. It's the BOMB!!! Hubby always gets the Shepherd's Pie. He says it's so good he just can't get past it to try something else. read more

I'm so excited to have found this place. Do not overlook it. You would be disappointed. Okay to the good stuff. Food? Best Irish pub food I've ever had. Everything we had was off the chain. Best Corned beef and cabbage I've had. Best Shepherds pie as well. Start off with a wide variety of Craft beers on tap, or in the bottle. I highly recommend the the Reuben egg rolls for an appetizer. They were great. As well as the Fire and Ice pickles which were aged in house. Finish off with nice stout beer, or a coffee infused Tullamore Dew or Jameson Irish Whiskey, which Andrew has perfected. They place was very clean, including the bathrooms. Decorated very nicely. With comfortable high top tables and chairs. Very nice full service bar. Very impressed. This is a "must stop" place during your travels. We live three hours away, but will ride our motorcycle here for a daily outing. Andrew the owner/operator has got his act together. Went to Kelly's with 17 other senior ladies for our monthly luncheon. They were nicely set up with tables of 6. Our server, Briana (with the help of another server) was fabulous...as was the food and beverages. Everything was served CORRECTLY and in a timely manner. Briana was friendly, professional and very helpful in all ways. Since we had individual tickets, I hope she got as much in tips as she deserved! We had just finished kayaking and were getting hungry. Checked on yelp for a nearby place to have some food. Saw Kelly's with a 4.5-star rating and decided to check into it. Weren't sure if they were even going to be open yet since we're just at the beginning of the COVID-19 phase one back to business gig. Didn't want to get takeout. So glad I checked. They were definitely open. We grabbed our masks just in case we needed them. But, when we walked in no one on their staff appeared to wearing masks and the place looked super clean, not too crowded, tables looking appropriately distance from each other and the bar stools all had signs on them that bar seating was not available for now. Lots of TVs surrounded us for watching all kinds of sports and a gentleman told us someone would be with us right away. Place wasn't busy as it was around 3:30-ish. We were approached by a woman who gave us menus and explained them to us. She asked if she could get us anything right away and my hubby asked about beers on tap. They had a great selection. He ordered a beer and I had water. We asked for some time and checked out the menus. Not sure if the menus had been wiped down or sanitized in any way and that made me a little nervous. Should've just asked. Hadn't been out in so long that an order of a dozen oysters on the half shell looked appetizing. Then we decided on splitting the Steakhouse Smashburger. Placed our order when a waitperson came to our table. Asked for oysters first, followed by burger. Everyone was friendly and professional. Oysters were awesome. Nice and fresh...we forgot to ask if they were local. The cocktail sauce had lots of horseradish which we love. Got done with those and watched some ESPN. Burger didn't take long after that. OMG, it was delicious!! One of the best burgers I've ever had, no exaggeration. The bacon was crispy, the onion ring was crunchy, the sauce was tasty and the entire combination was a perfectly balanced blend of tastes. It was awesome. I can't believe I'm giving 5 stars to a sports bar in a strip mall, but the food at Kelly's is really great! My in-laws rave about it so we had to give it a try on a recent visit. I am a sucker for oysters, so I had to get a dozen. They were plump and perfectly shucked and extremely fresh. The lobster bisque was smooth with nice bits of lobster and just the right amount of sherry. The calamari was fried to perfection and the curry dipping sauce was delicious (there was a second, sweetish sauce but the curry was so good I didn't try it). We also tried the sashimi style tuna, which was a good size serving of lightly seared tuna with a yummy wasabi mayo sauce. Drinks were generous, our waiter was hilarious, and the prices were extremely reasonable. Additional visits to Kelly's will be in order for future trips to Homosassa. read more

Cute pub, but the oysters were disappointing. They had a whole menu full of interesting options. I tried four different kinds: Fire and Ice, Mingonette, Garlic Parmesan and then spicy Parmesan. After having some bomb oysters in Ireland these just didn't compare. Also tried the fish and chips and the fish was cooked perfectly but the batter was flavorless and missed the mark. The fries were just eh. They did have Guinness on draft! I wanted Yuengling on draft but they only had bottles. I will say the service was absolutely wonderful. Came to eat here after manatee watching at the suggestion of our tour guide and my husband and I were absolutely blown away. Service was awesome (shoutout to Keenan), the cocktails we had were phenomenal, and $5 shots of Jameson?! My personal heaven. And then the food. We came here for the first time after a bad experience at Blue Gator in Dunnellon earlier the same day. What a difference! The service was fantastic, and the food was excellent. We loved the Reuben eggrolls, and three different types of grilled oysters. And the calamari was awesome! Sam, our server, is a sweet young woman who gave us excellent service. She made multiple recommendations which we followed and all of which were spot on. She even pointed out the owners and their parents and made us feel that we were part of their family.
