She gave some excellent recommendations and made sure I enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, which was a great way to start the meal. I ordered the blackened mahi sandwich with seasoned fries. The fish tasted fresh, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the blackened seasoning on the mahi had just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the fish. This waterfront restaurant did not disappoint. They also have an outdoor tiki bar. If you're looking for a fun, laid-back atmosphere on the water, you will find it here. You can relax with a drink, enjoy the scenery, and take in the beautiful views, especially the sunset. First I'll say the food we had was very good..no complaints. Prices were reasonable for semi fine dining. I had a bacon and mushroom pasta that was great but did need a piece of garlic bread and it would have been perfect. I had to ask our server if we could get started with drinks before we ordered. He was pleasant about it and probably just forgot? Service was just ok. Didn't really have any ambiance. It was late afternoon and the restaurant was quiet. I treated myself to a wonderful dinner on the last day of my vacation. The waiter was wonderful, very professional and personable. The food was OUTSTANDING! I loved the Roots Salad (the homemade apple cider vinaigrette is one of the best dressings I have ever tasted), the lobster was succulent, and the Key Lime Pie was a great way to top off the meal! We came for Father's Day dinner with family. It's not a large restaurant but the service was very slow. From being seated to check was over 2 hours for a party of 11. They did give us a head's up that the kitchen was slow but this is no gourmet spot. Dropping fish and fries in grease shouldn't take an hour. The view sells it. Following a visit to her orthodontist, my wife and I were in search of a place along the water for a late lunch. Having been to The Crab Plant and Waterfront Social, we were looking forward to trying out something different. Bayside Kraft Kitchen had good reviews so we headed out there after a side trip to Hunter Springs Park to hopefully see some manatees. Being a warmer late December day, we only saw perhaps 2 of those gentle giants in the water. At 3 PM, Bayside opened its doors to diners. Unbeknownst to us, they were having their Happy Hour which apparently is quite popular so there were quite a few tables occupied with a long table reserved for a bigger group. We were seated promptly in a booth with a view of the water and presented the menu. We already perused the menu online and knew what we wanted. We ordered the Pork Belly Bites as an appetizer. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Dinner and I had the Smashburger. The pork belly appetizer was quite delicious! Loved the crunchiness of the pork belly cubes tempered by the pickled onions and that savory sauce. My wife was raving about her crab cakes! She loved its crispy exterior and the freshness of the crab meat shined through...and that lemon white wine butter reduction was the perfect complement. She even liked the succotash and the arugula salad it was served with. My burger was well prepared, with juicy patties and soft buns. All in all, a very enjoyable meal. Our server, Trevor, was on it! A group of us met for dinner and socializing. The dining area is perfect for small group to get together for good time and a meal. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. They made sure we were taken care of while not imposing on our gathering. We had a variety of dishes, from appetizers to entrees and drinks. All of which were prepared and presented professionally. Amazing! This place is such a gem. Hard to believe somewhere this good exists in Crystal River but it does. My husband and I worked our way through as much of the menu as possible. Highlights were the whipped feta with honey, pickled onion, pistachios and grilled bread and the brussel sprouts with a not spicy but full of flavor maple gochujang sauce. Would 100% get these both again! The crab corn chowder was good (per hubs) and the special was a flounder fillet on basil risotto with green beans. He said was excellent. We went here for dinner on the Saturday night before Mother's Day, at 6:00pm. It was pouring rain outside. Inside was like a walk in freezer. Mom warned me to bring a wrap but I was still cold and so was my hubby. Mom also asked if we could have a booth on the side of the big open floor but they said all tables were booked and put us right in the middle. Our waitress luckily had a very penetrating voice so we were able to hear her. Fried Brussels sprouts- first batch arrived lukewarm. We pointed this out and our waitress brought a hot one. I saw at least one other order go back to the kitchen. Lobster tails - properly cooked! Not easy. It came with Brussels again so I asked for them sautéed. The mashed potatoes were well seasoned but could have been hotter. Short ribs - just ok. Came with risotto and more Brussels sprouts. Catfish - good flavors and arrived hot. Old Fashioned - the waitress took the glass away before all the drink was gone. My husband wasn't going to say anything but my uncle and mom did. With a smirk (indicating she thought we were scamming her) she said she would bring another. She eventually did. The view is supposed to be spectacular in the sun. When the rain let up you could kind of tell. Summary - the only vegetables they have are succotash and sprouts so don't get the sprout app. We had a nice time but we certainly weren't comfortable. The bar was really slow. If I lived closer I might give this place another try on a less busy night. Probably not though, it didn't feel as if they wanted us back. read more

We love Bayside Kraft! It is a welcome dining restaurant for our little haven. Other than a little hiccup with the greeter, our last experience there was flawless! We had a fantastic server, I believe her name was Nicole? Anyway, once we were in her care, we had a blast. Each of us have our favorites. My husband got the filet and we all swear it's the best around! I started with the beet & burrata salad which is incredible! Friends had the pork chop - yum - the mushroom pasta the crab cakes, St. Louis ribs and sadly, there was no room for dessert. We went around the table and just couldn't find fault anywhere! Happy hour bayside! We stopped here before heading home from our scallop trip for their happy hour. We sat on the patio over looking the water and boat ramp. Beautiful and entertaining. The happy hour is great. Appetizers and beverages for $6 and under. We ordered a few apps to share including the shrimp, chicken tenders, whipped feta and corn bread fritters. I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried they were all incredible. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. Beautifully decorated, clean, modern sleek and welcoming. Our server Eva was so sweet. She provided direction on the menu, offered specials and was great with interactions with our entire table. We highly recommend this spot to anyone coming through. It all tasted like it came from the grocery store, small shrimp, tiny scallops, bland hush puppies, served with grilled veggies. The veggies and baked potato were the best part of the meal. Stop in at my parent's favorite restaurant to get a basic seafood dinner. It was clear they had done a remodel and it looked nice. I told them we had not been here since the remodel. What they failed to mention was they were a totally different restaurant with different owners and a new and more expensive menu. What I call an ambush. I proposed we leave and go somewhere we prefer, but my mom was mortified at the idea of walking out. I told her I have walked out of nicer places than this. She was not comforted by that idea. My mother could find nothing on the menu . Luckily we were able to cobble together a basic shrimp and fries meal for her. I went with the burger to keep it cheap. The menu is limited and fancy. The view of the water is still lovely and the dining room is definitely classier. Waiting to see what the meal brings. Limited choices of vegetables so we went with the side Caesar salads. They were pretty good. A little heavy on the pepper. My burger was good. Mom's shrimp (small portion) was good but spicy so she didn't finish. Same with the fries. BKK went from my regular favorite restaurant in CR to off my radar. My most recent experience was slow, slow, slow, slow... did I mention slow??? Service. Get this, I was sitting at the bar. Not sure why Kalen is not there anymore... he provided excellent service and fantastic drinks. I ordered the Pork Chop. Yes, I know it takes a little longer to cook it to a crisp. And then forget that I ordered mashed potatoes not sweet potatoes. Anyway, I'm saddened that I can't recommend BKK anymore. Good luck... We were a party of seven without a reservation on a busy evening. They were booked but they were able to accommodate us. That speaks highly of the superb service we received while there. They even let us pre-order as we were waiting for our table. They have an amazing happy hour where you can get appetizers and cocktails for $5. Don't let the low price fool you into thinking they are small or unappealing. They come out looking chef crafted and filling. I wish I would have taken pictures but they may be on their website. Here is my take on the following appetizers we ordered: Jalapeño Cheddar Corn Bread- comes on a skillet and it is one of the best tasting cornbreads I have ever had. It has just a mild kick to it if you like spicy! Whipped Feta- served with grilled bread. The taste was delightful and easily spreadable . Fried Brussels Sprouts- Although they were tasty, I did not think they were above average. Street Corn- Great tasting Achiote Shrimp- tow large shrimp over street corn. I never tasted shrimp this good with a smoky flavor. Pork Belly Bites- just average to me. They were on the crispy side. Chicken bites- I ordered these for my daughter and she liked them but I can't really give an opinion I orders these Lemon Drop Martini and I thought it was really refreshing, just the right amount of tartness and not too sweet. We shared the appetizers and were satisfied. Next time I plan to order an entree!! The restaurant was on the water and it was very clean and inviting inside. I've been here 3 times now and it seems to be very inconsistent but not terrible. The apps are always great and so are the salads! I love the root veggie salad with burrata I had. It was fresh and delicious. I recently went and ordered the steak and fries and the fries were sooo good! The steak wasn't very good... it was gray and had no sear or seasoning to it. It was cooked to medium as I requested but looked as if it was baked in the oven. Maybe that's on me for ordering steak at a seafood restaurant but I was hopeful it was going to be decent and it was not. The happy hour here is definitely where it's at! I'll start off by saying the food was great and our waiter was excellent, friendly and engaging. The management was strange and may have tried to swindle us. We ordered salads and dinner. When I ordered the grouper fish platter it's listed as MKT$ so I asked how much and was told $22, which was fine so I ordered it. The salads didn't come before the meal and the waiter apologized and said they would come off the bill. The manager also came over and apologized and offered to comp us dessert too, which was a great way of making up for the salad mishap. No issues, problem taken care of. The bill comes and we noticed (not at first) that the grouper was listed as $50 instead of $22...huge difference. When confronted the manager tried to claim that the quoted cost of $22 was only the market up charge on the base price of $18. I have never heard of this but I would think the waiter should have offered the total cost if this is true. You'll also notice that the total is $40 and not $50 as shown on the check, the manager fumbled a non answer and adjusted it down to $22. Did the manager try and recoup the comped dessert and voided salads by charging a highly inflated price on the grouper hoping we wouldn't notice? It seems like it but who knows. Bottom line, pay attention to your checks when they come out. read more

The outside is not impressive but it inside is beautiful with great views of the water. Service was on point and pleasant, the food outstanding overall. We had the Korean pork belly- flavor was fabulous, a few pieces dry/overcooked but only a few. Crab cakes- I was told they were amazing, they were inhaled (lol) so I did not try a bite. The same went for the salmon!!!! The ribeye at $48 was meh for me, it needed more seasoning but my dd ate it with the grilled sweet potato and enjoyed it. I will say the grilled sweet potato is beyond delicious. We then shred the choc chip mint gelato and the guava mango cheesecake. The layer was perfection, not too sweet or heavy, the flavor combo was again perfection. My advice order your own and don't share! read more

Food, service & ambiance / all were excellent. This is my third or fourth time here with different company - all seemed to enjoy. We have done the whipped feta w/honey etc. (one of my personal favorites), beets & burrata & the Caesar salad for lighter/starters. On past visits ribs, burgers & crab cakes have been a success and today's shrimp & grits (as shown, deconstructed...) and fresh grouper handheld with gorgeous French fries were incredibly good. Waiter Casey was eager to please (and all help on each visit have been attentive). I see they are open 11-9 DAILY!!! And they offer a happy hour. Go for it! read more

I want to love this place because of the location and the decor, but the quality of the food doesn't meet the expectation. Staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is meh. This time we ordered whipped feta, salmon, short rib. The feta is awesome, but the toast points are awful. White bread cut into triangles and grilled (taste like the gas on the grill). They ruined an awesome app. They salmon was excessively charred- (completely burnt ends) lacking seasoning, and sweet potatoes over charred as well... difficult to eat. The short rib was tender but very dry and lacked seasoning and arrived room temp. The salmon was steaming so I need to credit that. The corn salad ... corn over cooked and was mealy. Servers are nice and the place is clean and super cute. We have tried it repeatedly thinking maybe it was an off night..... wish I could find the good night. Sigh read more

Great food for crystal river! The restaurant is so clean & the decor ISN'T eclectic or country-esque (tacky), a good change of pace for Citrus County. The menu is simple but elevated, with perfect portions. Both dishes tasted great & were fun to eat :D If anyone else struggles with a stomachache after eating most restaurant food-- we left feeling great. To me, that's a big indicator of kitchen cleanliness & product quality. The host was super cute & was kind enough to let us sit outside!! Before I jump into this I want to preface it by saying our waiter was awesome. He was attentive and inviting and did a great job. We were in the area for a day and chose this place based on Yelp. The outside doesn't look so great but the inside is very nice. Well decorated. But you go to a restaurant for the food right? So that is why they get two stars. We went for lunch. It's a very limited menu. I got the fried shrimp thinking we're close to the gulf, gotta have seafood. It was $19 and I got 4 shrimp lol. That's right, 4 shrimp. They also mention how they home house made fries so I had really high hopes. But they were soft and barely more than room temperature. The shrimp were also not hot. It wasn't like the place was packed, you'd think they would at least get the food temperature right. But not even close. My wife got a salad and added chicken. 20 bucks! That's insane. Now she did say it was good but not 20 dollar salad good. Overall it was a disappointment. Overpriced for what you get and a big miss on food temperature. We'll have to mark this one off our list unfortunately. read more
