I have been wanting to get a great massage for some time but just haven't had the time until now. I decided to do a short vay-cay here in San Jose and noticed that there are so many great reviews for this place that wasn't too far from where I stayed! I decided to come but had to wait two hours. Luckily, however, the vibe and small shops help kill time! Once I arrived, I was treated very kindly and man, that massage was painful yet relaxing!! I was asked if there was an area to concentrate on, and of course my back was the main focus. It's a mix of deep tissue and regular massage so be aware that they will go deep into that area. I literally fell asleep three times because the pressure, soothing music, and vibe was a sweet euphoric mix! Update: The owner of the business (Hubert) personally reached out to call me and apologize about my experience. Letting me know that he spoke to his staff about it. I really appreciate his effort. Definitely value him taking care of his customers so well. This makes me want to continue to come get a massage here and recommend others to do so too. (So tip what you can and have desire to do so, but I'm guessing that the 20% isn't required based on my conversation with Hubert.) *** I found this gem of a place last year in December. I went again badly in need of a massage.  The massage itself I really enjoyed. However there are a few aspects that I didn't expect this time around. They used to do a an early bird price of $45 if you get a massage between 10:30am-1:30pm. That is now gone, and it is $50 flat. Additionally, the tip to be paid in cash has to be a minimum of $10 (20%.) There is no signs that indicate such in the building as far as I know. When I gave my masseuse her tip she said, "minimum tip $10." The interaction and lack of communication about expected tip is why I am subtracting a star from this review. I have no problem tipping for good service, however I did not find it very professional to demand a minimum amount of 20% for tip. read more

We have great experience here. Kelly is very strong and she knows her job well. We sit a lot at work and have horrible back and neck pain. Kelly helps tremendously. If you have pain and stiffness I recommend you to have 2 massages just few days apart for a full experience, rather than having 1 massage per month. Trust me it really makes a difference when you go again just after few days. You will feel fully recovered. Everyone is very pleasant and professional here. I've had therapeutic massage for years, both after recovering from multiple car accidents and from years of athletic activities requiring clinical deep tissue. This was on par with any of the massages I've received from other clinics. I was very impressed and left feeling relief in my shoulders, traps, low back, mid back, neck -- my whole upper body! The massage was excellent - firm massage as requested and expertly done...been to some places that massage in quick motions but she knew where to focus on with slow and firm pressure. Wow, what a great massage for a pretty good price! Full body massage $50 for 60 minutes. Fell asleep a few times, felt like a new person when I walked out. She focused mostly on my back and legs so I may book another for this weekend for my neck/shoulders (jacked up from prolonged computer use/poor posture :). That may be one ding - time wasn't well distributed. Also, if you're going for a prenatal, don't expect many pillows to support you - just one under your head. A few things for context... - Prenatal massage scheduled same day (so lighter touch than usual) - Came in with pregnancy low back/leg pain + sciatic nerve issues - I usually get my massages done at work, where I find the therapists to be very efficient and effective with their time. Most of the therapists at my work have experience from PT/Chiro offices and they seem to know exactly where the pain originates and how much pressure to use... whereas I feel that at outside locations, it can be hit or miss - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just like a pat on the back. If I'm not getting a massage at work, I go to those $20-30 foot massage places or very rarely, a full on spa. So this is my first "in between" location in awhile.. read more

My deep tissue massage here was definitely among the best massage I've had over the years. As someone who grew up in Asia where average quality of massage is much higher than what US offers, I was impressed by masseuse's skill especially considering the price ($55 hr + $10 deep tissue) is only marginally higher than the low-end Chinese shop and much lower than high-end peers. Kelly is the best! I walked in feeling so much stress in my muscles and needed relief at the back of my neck, lower back, calves and feet. Kelly knew exactly how to work the areas where I needed it most. Though I didn't ask for deep pressure she told me I needed it in a couple of areas and warned me it would hurt a little. I have gone to many massage establishments, from high end to private owned to hole in the walls. I know when I find good service. Upon arrival, I didn't expect much, as I was just looking for a decent massage to help loosen up my body. I was greeted by Hubert, who runs the front desk. He was very friendly, personable, and had great people skill. Didn't feel like a salesperson, but rather someone who takes an interest and actually cares about his customers. My masseuse, Kelly, provided, by far one of the BEST massages I've ever had. She started by walking on my back. And from there, I just knew that she was highly skilled. She could feel what areas of my body needed focus with both her feet and hands. She was also very sensitive and attentive to the right pressure for my body. Her techniques were extraordinary and versatile - she used a variety of techniques that really showcased her expertise in executing them. It was literally amazing from start to finish. Decided to try a massage just to help my brain and body relax with hopes that even for a little bit it would help. I never had a massage to this extent before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had arrived about 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment and was able to be taken to a room right away which was great. Once the therapist started doing her thing she can tell I was tense, but few minutes in I was so relaxed it felt like everything escaped my mind and my body was being refreshed. The "healing massage" words in the business name is not just marketing - that name is quite accurate. After two broken bones and months of physical therapy, I find I am still dealing with rock-hard quadriceps and a very stiff shoulder. So I did not want a run-of-the-mill back massage -- I wanted massage that would target those areas specifically, and my therapist listened very carefully, then worked on just those areas. She is a professional - it was clear that she knows anatomy very well. She found all of the problem areas quickly, then smoothed them out gradually, until the pain points were dissolved. Kelly is a professional - she started with medium pressure to keep from irritating my pain points, then worked deeper as the muscles loosened up. At the end, I felt much better -- my arms and legs felt like limbs again instead of a collection of pain points. Came asking for a relaxing massage with a friend. Both of us asked several times to go softer with less pressure but they kept digging in with their elbows. Both of us had sore/tender skin afterwards. Not super relaxing. I dropped in this place hoping for a decent massage since my body has been pretty tense lately. As a body worker myself I always expect the best and this place does not deliver. It is sub-par at best. Sure, if you want a quick rub down with lotion and you don't care about technique then you might think this place is ok. The person who gave me a massage was not what I would call experienced. I am not sure if she even has a basic understanding of anatomy given some of the moves she was performing on me. Her movements were staccato, I mean they were all over the place. I personally prefer massages with flow and smoothness and this massage was anything but. I could have received the same kind of massage at one of those foot massage places for half the price. I paid 59 plus a ten dollar tip. The price is what seduced me but I most certainly will not be returning. Why is it so difficult to find REAL BODY WORKERS? Anyone can put their hands on you and rub your skin BUT it takes a truly educated and intuitive healer to make a difference. You will not find that at Kelly's "healing" massage. I'm so disappointed. I will give them two stars for being polite. I hate giving bad reviews. Ugh! I just hate it but this place was not for me. read more
