I found my new spot! I came in with my same ole back issues that I legit have people 200lbs or more stand all over just to feel some sort of pressure and relief. I was surprised that Tiya had a lot more power than I expected. Also she definitely knows what she's doing. I got a massage from some massage therapist, paid for by my company, that told me the key is not to attack straight on but the outer lying muscles connecting to the biggest pain area. By focusing on those, it makes the tightest area, usually the painful area, relax for a more gentle yet more effective massage. I didn't believe it at first but he was totally right! Before we even got started she looked at me and asked if I drank a lot of water (yes) then commented on how dry the skin on my arms was. I had a lingering issue from a sprained ankle over a year ago. It was mild but persistently annoying. I'd seen multiple physical therapists and chiropractors, but none of them made a real difference. When Tiya started working on my ankle, she immediately noticed the scar tissue--without me even mentioning the injury. And afterward, my ankle felt significantly better. Unlike many "90-minute massages" that end up being more like 75 minutes, Tiya gives you the full 90, down to the last second. I have been seeing Tiya for 7 years, first for prenatal and now for injury prevention and muscle tension relief. She is wonderful to talk to and is a kind, caring human being. I began to see her when I was pregnant with my first child. I found she had the most affordable rate for a prenatal massage in the area. I have a lot of biomechanical physiological problems. My right ankle suffers from nerve damage that travels up to my hip. My right wrist was crushed in 2019 so I suffered from chronic Dequervians syndrome. My left whole shoulder and arm suffers from on our nerve damage as well as a recovering broken rotator cuff. After having three consequence surgeries for the physical conditions my body develops scapular winging. So I have problems virtually all over my physical body. I knew I needed massage therapy but couldn't find the right practitioner to help resolve my issues and who was tough off to break up the scar tissue but is accurate and conscientious enough to accommodate for all my injuries. Tiya is the perfect fit. She taught me about trigger points and is addressing them in every session. Initially when I first strolled in I literally strolled in and I need scooter because I'm unable to walk at all due to my ankles condition. Now I'm able to hobble around with my cane much easier and I'm in a lot less pain. She is very passionate about her work loves healing people and helping them recover. It's very nice being able to work with someone who truly enjoys helping you. If you feel like your conditions too complex, I highly recommend to give Tiya a chance to work with you. She will help you recover as long as you don't need surgery. In fact I've had two surgeons recommend additional surgery for my right wrist and my right ankle. Unfortunately, I experienced a lot of pain during the massage. I read great reviews and know that Tiya has long time customers. I wanted to believe that the pain I was experiencing during the massage was because of sore/tense muscles, but the pain after and bruises are too much. Tiya said that I would be a bit sore, and she was massaging the trigger points that would help relieve the tension on my body from sitting all day. I am not sure it helped. I've been a going to Tiya for 8 or 9 years now. I used to let her fix up my back, then I wouldn't go again until I was in bad shape. I have the degenerative disc problem, arthritis, and recurring very painful muscle spasms. I've learned through experience that my problems at least are held in check pretty well when I stick to a weekly schedule with her. This lady cares about her customers and I think their issues are her true concern. Tiya has always worked hard for me and her pricing is $70 an hour, a low rate for such a strong therapist.
