Drinks are sanely priced and bar staff is always nice to me, even when I'm just there playing pinball.

So if you like the Smokiness of a dive bar, going home smelling like an ashtray, and hanging with older cool people is your thing than you're home here. I think there's better choices within walking distance. It would be nice if the owner didn't respond with a snarky comment and maybe took constructive criticism, fix your exhaust system and I would happily give you a 4 rating for an authentic dive bar. As you can tell by the owners response they don't care and not going to change. Staff are friendly, and at least the one bartender isn't asleep behind the bar (maybe they switched him out or I came on a day he wasn't there). I'll give it a 2 star rating because it looks like they're cleaning up and painting a bit, but it really should be a one. EP Listening Lounge is clean 1 block away Ryan's is a dive bar, a bit clampish for my taste but whatever Vassar Lounge has lots of parking and pool tables, but more than walking distance I think there's a new scene happening off 6th street or is that 4th, new changes down there. This time it was on a whim to check out a different bar other than our usual spots. We walked in and felt a little uncertain but decided to take a seat to be nice, I suppose. We tried a taste of the chardonnay they had available and decided to give it a-go and said why not to a glass. The older man at the bar scooted down a seat so we could sit together, what a sweetie pie. Good for him getting out on a Friday night for a little social interaction and a beer, or two. Everyone here must be regulars by the looks and feels of the vibe. Didn't catch the bartenders name, but she was a doll. It was a "one and run" type of experience. Walking in the first thing you notice is that this place has seen some cigarettes over the years, but once you make it past that, the dimly lit room with dark wood and green accents has the kind of charm you want from an old watering hole. The patrons apparently change with time. No, I don't mean they've been there so long they've gotten old with the place. Rather that earlier in the evening this is a place where some Reno originals come to hang out, and in the later hours you'll find a younger, after hours industry crowd coming in to enjoy their after shifters. I was there earlier in the night, and as I sat down I was greeted by a friendly older gentleman who was happy to share his story along with the history of the bar. He'd started coming here as a near scratch golfer when Masters was apparently the place to be after hitting the links. He shared with me how he'd really like to see it go back to that, but for now it's a quiet bar that's trying to find it's place again. Surprisingly there's a really decent beer selection (mostly bottled), and though I wouldn't expect any craft cocktails, based on the GIANT glasses of wine being poured for the older patron next to me, I'm sure you can count on a stiff drink at this place. This is one of the bars that originated NBT (New Bar Tuesday), and I'm really glad I made the decision to check it out. I was there that night. The unstable female involved in this disturbance called herself Rachel, not Josana. She had a backpack full of boos, broke a bottle in the bathroom and was being completely inconsiderate at the bar. I was so relieved when Carlee graciously asked her to leave... Nestled in the strip mall that is accentuated by a gas station and a Port of Subs. There are two pool tables up front and rather long bar. It's a clean place with big LCD TVs adorning the wall above the bar. Draft beers are relatively cheap. There are two PBR taps, count them two. I thought PBR would die, but alas, it lingers, lingers like a locker room smell. They have $5 PB&J's where you get a full 16 ounces of PBR and yes, Jamison. I can't blame these guys. If customers wanted Steele Reserve, you cater to them, you don't judge them. They pay your bills. What earns this place 5 stars I believe is an authentic charm, an unbelievably hot bartender on Saturday nights, and above all, this thing, this Satanic cult game called Squeeze. What is Squeeze? Is it a secretive society of Sauterne-swilling, Strawberry banana smoothie-sucking circle of saturnine succubi? No I wish. It's a rather esoteric inventive provocative game whereby a timer is set, between 30 minutes and an hour, nobody knows. When the buzzer goes off, all the drafts, bottles and well liquors are a dollar or less. But herein lies the fun. If anyone goes to the restroom or leaves, the Squeeze session ends, and all the prices return to normal. It occurs every Friday and Monday nights. I find this rather provocative and conducive of lots of hijinks and incontinence. I'm all in, and I'll be wearing my Attends adult diapers too.
