If you are a Dive-bar fan in the Reno/Sparks area, this is definitely one that you need to come visit. On the larger side, they have a pool table and a juke box. The bar is long and large and separated into two parts. A very warm, comfortable and homey atmosphere with all kinds of crazy stuff on the walls including quite a few chianti bottles! I popped in for a first time visit on a Friday afternoon. I had a phone meeting that I needed to attend to so I stopped in for a beer beforehand. It was quiet enough in there to have my meeting and sit at the bar the entire time. The bartender was nice, attentive and left me alone while I partook in my meeting. I will definitely be back to this smooth little haunt and i look forward to sitting at the bar with a coldy in hand. read more

Apparently people of color are not allowed or wanted in this dive bar. Sat there for 20 minutes and the racist bartenders, yes even the guy who makes the shrimp scampy walked by me, looked at me out of the corner of his eye and went on to serve others, didn't stop to ask me what I would like. All to the comments of, Well don't serve him and he won't come back! Truer words have never been spoken. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! Go to coney island bar. This bar has the feel of an old hunting lodge. They had a wood burning fire and a LOT of interesting signage. The kind of place you can't throw together overnight (cough cough cheeseburger island style cough cough)... It has some serious character. Even if it IS across the street from the trailer park. The drinks were amazingly cheap: Two beers and a white russian rang up to 8.50 or so. That's less than ONE beer at some of the douchier bars in the area. They close pretty early though, as they are a self-professed "old person's bar". But hell, when they kick you out at nine, you can just roll up the street to Morelli's G Street saloon. I'd pop in here again if I was in the area--and by in the area, I mean near Rail City... say, if I happened to be out of crack or syringes. Welcome to Sparks! read more

It's an older bar, in a bad part of town, but the decor is old rustic western items. The bar has one pool table and if I didn't know any better, during business hours you could grab a drink and haircut in the same building. If you have a choice go somewhere else to play pool...... On a side note, great gathering place for geriatrics. read more

This place is old Reno/Sparks, and full of atmosphere. The bar is small, quaint and pretty loud, but the drinks are well priced and expertly made. I've played a few games of pool there and they always get better after a few Picon punches that few bartenders know how to fix like these folks do. Also went to a private party there and the crew was very hospitable to everyone and the food was great! One of the best Reno bars, and it's in Sparks. The perfect tour of old Reno hot spots should include The Copenhagen, Coney Island, Lucke's, just to start it off. read more

Great dive bar located behind barber shop. Actually both are connected so you can get your haircut and then have drinks next door afterwards. Pint specials and on Friday nights they have shrimp cocktail and shrimp scampi with fresh garlic bread. We will definetly be coming back next time we're in Reno. read more

We've been there three times, the first two times without incident. But last night we decided to play pool. Last night proved to be the worst and it was right after the owner left the premises. There are no league nights or anything, but there is clearly a "good old boys" atmosphere. I went there to enjoy a night with my husband, as we don't have the same work schedule so evenings are all we have, and our money wasn't enough to enjoy the table for two consecutive games of pool. We were pushed out by said "good old boys" and ultimately the bartender because we were the "kind of folks" who didn't play pool there apparently. I've read the reviews about this place and heard about racist behavior and still gave these people the benefit of the doubt. Tonight, we found out why they earned those accusations. We are a couple of hardworking 30-somethings. We work too hard for our money to spend it at a place where we are treated like punks. One night to play two games so we can get home at a decent hour so I can go to work on Saturday was all we wanted. It's too bad because the bar is walking distance from our place. And the bartender told us we need to go find a pool hall to play. Those old guys take themselves way too seriously. Pickles the bartender needs to stop taking orders from old buzzards who have no life and are going to play there all night anyway. read more

The regulars are all friendly and welcome newcomers. Although I am fairly certain that the average age of the regulars is in the neighborhood of 65.
