Our experience with Kelowna Hyundai was extremely disappointing from start to finish. First, it took 5.5 hours to purchase a vehicle we had already decided on before walking in. For what should have been a straightforward purchase, the process was unnecessarily long and frustrating. Unfortunately, things only got worse after the sale. Once they had our money, customer service essentially disappeared. Responses to emails regularly took up to 3 weeks, and we often only received a reply after giving them a firm deadline. We also have been waiting 10 months to receive the vehicle mats we were promised, and even then, we had to fight to get them. The most frustrating issue has been the scratches that appear every time it is washed. When we brought this concern to Hyundai Kelowna, instead of taking accountability or properly investigating the issue, we were told it was somehow our fault and due to what we were doing. They simply put a band-aid on the problem by buffing out some of the lighter scratches, while leaving the deeper scratches untouched, claiming it was "not a paint malfunction." For a dealership selling premium-priced vehicles, we expected far better service, communication, and support. They do not seem to stand behind their product, and their after-sale customer care has been unacceptable. read more

I had a terrible experience with Kelowna Hyundai from the general sales manager, sales rep, service department to the receptionist in May 2026. I had a 2017 Hyundai Tuscon which I will warn you to NOT buy as it is a total dud of a vehicle. It has CVT for transmission which is awful. I will NEVER purchase a vehicle with CVT again, They shouldn't even exist. I had bought it used for approximately $28,500.00 in the year of 2022 at 70,000km and only put on 31,000 km on it. Once it was 101,000km I had all these issues come up especially with the transmission (CVT) and engine. I had done one repair in the fall of 2025 then went back to Hyundai Kelowna Service department in the Winter of 2025 and got a flush and replaced spark plugs. All the repairs I had done up to that point had cost me already about $6,500.00. Then in May 2026 my Tuscon started jolting and shaking. Then in May 2026 my Tuscon started jolting and shaking. I took it to Hyundai Service department to have it assessed. I was given a few days later an estimate of $12,000.00. I decided it didn't make sense to put $12,000.00 in it with the amount of money I had already spent. I spoke to the General Sales Manager about whether the would assess my vehicle and buy it from me. I told him I didn't have the money to do a trade in. He still talked about a trade in anyways. He said he would have my vehicle assessed. I waited and then after a few days phoned Hyundai to follow up on whether they would buy my vehicle. When i called in i couldn't remember the sales managers name and they didnt have any notes or anything on me in their system so I was instead then told the receptionist would transfer me to a Sale rep. She put me on hold. 10 second later she picked up and said sorry where did you need to go? I said a sales rep. She then transferred me to the service department. It was apathetic and she was inattentive. It was a mess, i then asked to be transferred to a manager. I was transferred to a sales rep. I had to repeat my whole situation then he said he would get my vehicle assessed. So now I had to wait twice the amount of time. In the meantime the sales manager never phoned me back so clearly he forgot about me. After a few days went buy then I followed up again with the Sales Rep this time and had written down his name so i knew who to ask for. He told me he still hadn't gotten the assessment yet. I waited then a few more days then followed up. He told me that they wouldn't outright buy it but would do a trade in. I had told him prior to as well as the sales manager I wasn't able to do a trade in. I then repeated it again to him. I said I would need a few days to decide what to do with my vehicle. Each day after that the Sales Rep phoned me following up with asking me what I was going to do with my vehicle. I thought this was satirical and ironic considering I gave them a few days each time to figure out my assessment when they didn't even do it the first 2 times i phoned, but yet, when I am the client who's been deceived trying to figure out my next step I am being phoned every day. After a few days I decided to get rid of it have my vehicle towed with Pick and Pull. I phoned the Sales Rep back and told him I would be have Pick and Pull tow it on the Monday at 10:00AM and that I would arrive at about 9:45AM to pay the bill for assessing the Tuscon. When I showed up on the Monday at 9:45AM I walked in told them my name and then before I could say anything else the Service Department asked where my vehicle was and that I could bring it in. I said "oh no, the vehicle is already here, I spoke to the Sales Rep, *****(sales rep name) and told him I would be here at 9:45AM to pay the assessment bill for my tuscon ". The Service Department then said "It would have been nice to have a heads up" I said well I would have thought the Sales Rep would have told you I was going to show up especially when I gave all the details and you guys work in the same building (sales rep could have emailed/ phoned/ walked over to the service department). He said no he wasn't told anything. I paid my bill then I followed him to the lot and he shrugged his shoulders saying well i don't where it is, do you see your vehicle? (bad attitude/ no care) we ended up turning the alarm on to find my vehicle. My vehicle was tightly parked between 2 other vehicles. He offered no help in emptying my vehicle not even a bag/ or a glass of water (30 degrees that day). I won't name the Sales Rep because I don't want make this personal to them. It's Hyundai Kelowna as a whole that needs to improve. NEVER BUY OR DEAL WITH HYUNDAI KELOWNA. read more

As long as I have this Tucson I will let the world know the manipulation that takes place to a woman shopping alone. When I sat in the car I said too big, too expensive. The service department is, in my opinion, a bunch of fraudsters. As with many hyundais, my car was drinking oil at a ridiculous rate. I was told that Hyundai was warrantying these defective engines, so went to the dealership (the only reason I would ever go to the service department of a dealership) to inquire. They told me to go through the process of oil consumtion testing, going back there every 1000km for 6000km, which I did. It proved it consumed too much oil. Then they said they had to do a "boroscope" to check the cylinder walls for scoring. They said it would cost $200, but that would be paid back if it failed the test because it would be covered under the warranty. It failed the test. Then they said that they'd take pictures (another $200, nonrefundable) of it for the report to Hyundai or I could prove I'd had oil changes done regularly. Given that it had been 5 or 6 years of ownership, going to multiple different garages for oil changes, I opted just for the photos. A couple days later I get the call that the warranty was declined. Apparently cylinder wall scoring is not a criterion they consider for this particular engine's warranty... it's only "bearing rod clearance" that is a consideration, and they could tell my car didn't have that problem because they'd hear it knocking... no diagnostic time needed for that; apparently it's quite obvious. It certainly wasn't noted in the diagnostic report I received. I told them then that I expected my $200 boroscope fee and the $200 photo fee refunded, as apparently that was completely irrelevant to the warranty claim, which was my one and only objective that I stated clearly at the outset. Nope.. no refunds. I posted this story to Facebook, and within a day or two the service manager contacted me wanting to review the case. Long story short, he told me from the photos it appeared my oil hadn't been changed regularly, and that was possibly the reason the walls were scored, so that's why Hyundai wasn't going to cover it. I then went around to the shops that I'd gone to for oil changes and gathered the record. It turns out I'd had my oil changed regularly at less than the 6000km interval they suggest... usually around 5400km. The funny thing about that was that EVERY ONE of the shops, when I asked for my service record asked "Oh, is this for a Hyundai or Kia?"... followed up by "you're the 3rd guy this week" or "you're the 2nd guy today". Clearly I'm not the only one getting the run-around here with these garbage engines! I sent in my oil change record for review, and about a week later I got the response that despite this regular maintenance being proven, Hyundai still wan't considering replacing the engine under warranty. Again, I requested that the irrelevant, useless boroscope of the cylinder walls and the associated photo fees be refunded, as obviously the result of them played no role in whether my engine was eligible for warranty. They should have known that. In fact, I wonder if they did... I wonder if they saw this as an opportunity to soak me for $400+. However, the service manager told me they had done nothing wrong, and that I would not be getting a refund. In any case, I won't be fooled again. Never will I go to this place again, and never will I purchase another Hyundai or Kia. Too bad really, because other than defective engines they're decent vehicles. If I'd been treated properly and not defrauded, I might have been back one day, but for the sake of $400 they've lost a customer permanently and unequivocally. read more

I recently purchased an Elantra Hybrid Lux I have since taken delivery of the vehicle and certain items that were promise din the deal are not on the car. I have sent multiple calls, emails and texts only to receive no response back. This dealership came very highly recommended and has let me down. When I call I just sit on hold. Asked to speak with a manager and all were busy. My last text message from the sales person was that I burned him on a survey. If they had answered my questions and did what they promised I would have given a perfect 10. Seems hard to recommend a dealership when they dont take care of you after the sale. read more

I went to the showroom twice, once to book a car and once to take delivery of the car; both the times the experience was very bad. According to me, this showroom is running due to Hyundai's goodwill, otherwise no one should go here for free. The behaviour of the staff is very bad. The manager and sales staff behave very wrongly. Hyundai should close this dealer because they do not care about the customers. I will tell everyone that if you want to buy a Hyundai car, then go to some other dealer in Canada and Hyundai should open another dealer in Kelowna. This dealer is the name of Hyundai. I bought my car in 2017., at the time of buying the finance department convinced me to buy extended warranty for $2500 saying I will get $2000 if the insurance is not used. It's been 7 years I didn't use the insurance . when I called the Kelowna Hyundai they are not connecting me to the finance department...saying they are very busy and they will call me back But I never get a call. ***Read the low-star ratings before purchasing from this dealership!! I never leave bad reviews, but this experience has been so frustrating that I hope to save someone else the headache. Nobody returns phone calls - EVEN the sales manager. All you get are excuses and shallow apologies. Purchased a used vehicle with a scrape that the dealership told us would be about $600 to fix. The ACTUAL number from a body shop is $1500 (after 3 WEEKS of leaving messages to get the body shop number from the salesman for a "preferred rate"). We would not have purchased the car if we knew the real number. PLUS it took a week to get our deposit back after calling multiple times. Once we'd put money down it's been EXTREMELY difficult to get anyone to call us back. Horrible customer service. I felt like we'd been duped into buying a car that had a hidden expense that we were misled to believe would be much lower. So much about the whole interaction was fishy, I regret dealing with this company at all. Wish I could give them the car and get my money back. Feels like they said anything just to make the sale and then once they had our money they did not care about anything after that. I will never deal with Kelowna Hyundai again. i have been using hyundai kelowna for 10 years but was not happy when i took my car for an oil change yesterday i was not happy with Jordan who did the paperwork he kept trying to get me to agree to more services, every time i turned down a service he suggested another one for example brakes, flushing pistons, and cooling system. when the car was ready he said battery failed and i declined to change battery. i have only driven this car 7,000 km since if bought it 2 years ago when it was supposed to be totally checked out and am not having any problem with brakes or battery. one thing that is nice is getting a clean car back but because of cold weather they are not washing cars right now. read more

Bought brand new vehicle, was told by the salesman that when we bring our vehicle in for servicing we would have a vehicle to drive while ours was in for the service. They have failed to provide us with a vehicle every time we have brought ours in. I have even booked 5 weeks in advance and told them I need a vehicle. They told me they don't have one available for the time I bring mine in, and this is 5 weeks in advance. A simple oil change takes 2 hours and most of the time they are short handed which now takes longer. I am 2 hours from Kelowna and get all my errands done when in town, does not help when you have to spend 2+hours at the mall not getting anything accomplished, then a 2 hour drive home. Very very frustrated with this company, they are NOT accommodating in any way. Seriously looking at trading my vehicle in for a different brand due to their incompetence. My 2017 Hyundai with 30,000 KMS on it had the front brakes fall right off onto the pavement by Sherwin Williams in Kelowna by cooper road. I called the dealership they offered me a free tow as per my warranty to the dealership. Perfect I thought. It got to the dealership - they blamed me. they told me that I ran the brakes till they were raw. They also told me the front brakes and back brakes were metal on metal and that was the reason. I towed my vehicle at my cost to another shop. as i could tell the back brakes still had pads left on them This shop I towed my vehicle too informed me that my back brakes were still at 75% and there was no chance that it was not a mechanical failure to the front brakes. The front brakes were raw - however only started sqealling 3 days before. at that time i heard the sqeal i made an appointment for brakes. they very soon after fell off my car... Maybe a recall situation... Brakes usually aren't covered under warranty which is fine I thought id have to pay for new front brakes. However this dealership tried charging me and lied to me about the % of pads left on the back brakes that I knew were still very healthy; saying they were metal on metal. The shop I took it too showed me the back brake pads they were perfectly fine around 75% they said But Hey lets be honest - some one has to pay for their horrible commercials on the local TV. The Hyundai price was well over $1000.00 The other shop was under $400.00 because they didn't try to scam me with additional un needed services. Avoid at all costs. read more

A few years ago I needed a cheap inexpensive daily commuter and decided to take a look at a Hyundai Accent. Needed something economical and reliable. The Accent fit the build. Fast forward 2 years. Accent holding up pretty well - no big issues or concerns. That's when I get a call from the Kelowna Hyundai Dealership letting me know they'd like to buy my car back, and could get me in a new Accent of identical quality for the same monthly payment. They were going to put me into a 2017 and promised the payments would stay "Exactly the same." Sounds great right? It wasn't. I arranged a meeting and went to the dealership to meet with their sales guy. He was alright. He had me take a new accent for a test drive, and the car was, as you can imagine, almost exactly the same. We sat down to talk about numbers and that was when they pulled out my payment info for the first time. He told me he was surprised it was so low and he didn't think they'd be able to keep the payments the same. He went back and forth to his sales manager about a half dozen times each time getting a little closer to my current payment but eventually said he couldn't keep the payment the same. Huge waste of 3 hours of my day! Shouldn't they check to see what my payments are before having me come out to see them? I e-mailed them with my frustration and sent a letter letting them know they were dropping the ball with the pre-existing customers and, not entirely to my surprise, no response. Kelowna Hyundai doesn't care about you at all after they sell you their cars. They're comfy wasting your time and won't bother getting back to you. Go buy a Honda. read more

Stay away from the service department. I was sent a recall notice for my 2009 Santa Fe for the third time. Prior to moving to Kelowna I had a great experience. I took my vehicle for the recall to Kelowna Hyundai . They completed work to fix a oil leak recall! However the vehicle leaked worse then ever. On top of this they stated that they did a complete inspection and have me a quote for $10,000. Yes $10,000 not a typo. The vehicle had 300000 km,s on it. When I returned the vehicle to have them check there work they told me the vehicle had 300000 km,s and I should expect oil leaks. I told them it leaks worse after their repair they agreed to look at it for a few of $175 and hour. I conceded to this convinced the oil leak was due to their poor service. Was told on pick up it wasn't their work and charged $110 for diagnosis. Wish I had read reviews before going here. Now have to make an appointment in Penticton to get the issue resolved. Called Hyundai Canada to make a formal complaint. This dealership is only interested in up sales and not proper service read more

Friendly dealer, like any other dealer wanting to sell you a car, we initially had a good experience at this Hyundai dealership. We were car shopping for a new car and test drove their Santa Fe. We took the day to car shop in Kelowna and returned to the dealer to see if we could strike a deal on a purchase. In the negotiation phase of our new SUV purchase I overheard a staff member make a very derogatory term about gay people. I debated whether or not to say something and as I turned to my husband to share the experience. We wanted the vehicle yet how can we proceed with the purchase after hearing one of their staff members use that word. In my younger years I would have let the comment go by but as I've grown older I realize the importance of speaking up for something I know is wrong. I went into the sales managers office and told him the deal was off and why. He said he would address it (I'm not sure what he did, or if he did) and we turned around and walked away from the car we wanted to purchase. I've had the best experience here purchasing a vehicle, Sean was my initial first contact, LOVE HIM! Completely accommodating patient I asked him to do a walk around & interior video for me and he did it within 10 minutes even though I know they were extremely busy that day. Even gave me his cell phone number if I had any questions at all about the vehicle. And I did and I'm sorry for the 3am text message. I was just so excited I couldn't sleep. Second was Collin, he was more on the finalizing the purchase (that I did make) end. Also super patient and literally tried to pull every string he possibly could to make sure that I got the exact vehicle that I wanted. NOT GOING TO LIE IM PICKY. So thank you for that. And third was Joven in their finance department, such a personable person actually got to know me asked me questions about my life and why I was purchasing out of province he told me about his life and how him and his wife are expecting a baby, it really Felt better than just a car buying experience. They actually want you to be happy and they know you're a person. From the time Kelowna Hyundai checked-in my Jeep, transferred it to a local transmission shop, and when I picked it up, over $500 of my possessions were stolen including hiking gear, winter boots, winter jacket, inverter, power splitter, and even my deodorant in a personal hygiene kit! Kelowna Hyundai's security cameras only go back 8 days, and they were absolutely unwilling to do even as little as a free oil change in compensation as the car was parked outside of their lot and just said these sort of things happen. I've had numerous complaints about the service department. Nickel and dime you to death. Dishonest. No warranty on their work. Hours to do a job that takes an hour or less. They overbook and fit you in wherever. Probably why the work is rushed. Going back to small shops. read more

This places service department is shady, I purchased A brand new Sonata there in October and I took it in for some warranty issues with the paint peeling on the bumper only 4 months after buying, the (rude) service manager put up a stink about this not being a common thing and said he would bet that it was hit with a shopping cart or something and then he told us he thinks that Hyundai won't cover it, after me disputing this he then asked us to go see a body shop so we had backing that it was indead a manufacturer defect which I did and the body shop agreed it was a defect. The service manager then said he sent it in to Hyundai and after 2 weeks of waiting for a answer I finally was fed up and contacted the sales manager complaining about the time I had to wait... all of a sudden I received a call from the service manager telling me Hyundai denied my claim and then told me there is nothing else I can do, pissed off I called Hyundai Canada and to my surprise they had never received a warranty claim on my car!! meaning the service manager never processed my claim and was a f'in lier.... not sure of his motive but buyer beware of this place. After purchasing 3 brand new cars at Kelowna Hyundai I'm done with this place.... the owner wouldn't even call me when I asked him to discuss what had happened ....  Hyundai did cover and repair on my car after I took my car to Vernon Hyundai.... thanks Vernon you're my new dealership! read more

Wouldn't recommend coming here if your looking to buy a vehicle or anything else related. Parts and service is great though, ask for crystal she's amazing. But I walked in today to ask about potentially selling my vehicle or what my options were. Got greeted asked what I needed and as soon as I mentioned maybe selling my car, guy asked me to hold on a moment and went and asked and I got told that they aren't interested In purchasing my car and to try somewhere else. Which would have been fine but I was curious about what my options were but just got turned away. Terrible service. read more

Friendly at first but very pushy to get the sale made. We did buy, it took them a month to fix a few things that WE noticed were wrong with it then about 3 months later we had to put $3000 in repairs. Also, we had to fix a piece in the engine that someone had hot glued back together. (Hot glue doesn't hold well in a hot engine). We will NEVER go back to this dealer. read more

This is a terribly dishonest dealership and I am seriously considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My mother out a deposit in a car earlier this week and they convinced her to add a tire warranty, when she went in to complete the purchase she advised them that she changed her mind on the warranty but they refused to let her back out of it, telling her they had already paid the warranty company, despite the fact that she had not completed the purchase yet, I would have walked away from the sale. We should have checked out reviews before dealing with Kelowna Hyundai, new 2013 Hyundai only after purchasing found out what we were dealing with. As other reviews mentioned friendly at first ie purchased all the extra warranties ie paint, interior told by Lean, any problems will be looked after $1550 plus. Seat problems Aug 5/16 Mike and Warranty person took 10 seconds to say wear and tear 39,000 km Was told they would get back to me after checking with Hyundai I called again I week ago talked to Mike expected answer no return call to date sept 1st Never again we have found also a real up sell maintenance department, We have heard this lots from other shops they are know for it People are told about all sorts of problems and when checked out all is OK The car isn't a problem it just the Kelowna Dealership read more

We made a deal, shook on it, and when it came time to sign the papers they refused and tried to get higher payments out of us. When we told them we may have to walk away from the deal, the manager's reply was "that's ok, I'll sell 140 cars this month anyway". Don't do business here! read more

Never ever buy a used car from this place!! We had the most horrible experience. Paid good money for a 2014 VW Jetta they were selling. Noticed a few hidden damages soon after. Went back to complain and got referred to the General Manager who was the rudest and most condescending person I have ever met. Now we are stuck with paying to fix the damages.
