Discovered this friendly, locally owned spot, and I live just down the road. A modern-themed Irish Pub.... simple, clean with no attitude. An Irish pub menu along with all the favorites, and huge beer / craft beer selection. Many local microbreweries included. We had Fish & Chips, which was freshly battered and flash fried, and Black & Tan beers from the extensive selection. Food came fast and efficiently, but we were never rushed. Server Nick was outstanding --- attentive without being intrusive, and he had great knowledge of the varied menu along with the huge beer selection. There are TVs on some walls and over the bar. It was a Sunday afternoon, with NFL game on, but sound was low so not intrusive. On a Sunday afternoon in September, it wasn't busy. For highway travelers, Keltic Pub is located directly off Interstate 91 at CT exit #49. (CT/MA state line @Route 5 exit.) The location makes it an ideal pull-off for those going between points south and MA/ VT/ NH or Canada. Two Gas stations are right across the street too! read more

We walked out after being seated at our table for over 20 minutes. No wait staff even spoke to us or looked at us. Two separate waiters came and went to other tables out on the patio. My guess is that a different waiter was assigned our table? But very poor communication and organization. We were excited to try it. It was Friday at 6:45 when we arrived. They were busy, but not overly busy they still had open tables. After 7:20 and another wait came and delivered food to a table near us, and a different waiter got drunk refills - and we still had our menus no drinks, and none of the waiters even said anything - we left. Too bad - cute building and menu looked good. Could have easily let us know it would be a few more minutes, or brought us waters, or even just gave basic communication. Was the worst customer service we have experienced in a long time. read more

Stopped by for a last minute dinner date with my wife. Sat at a high top near the bar. Warm, comfortable surroundings with a fun atmosphere. Scott was very friendly and attentive without being pushy. They have a great drink menu and plenty of beers on Tap. My wife had a blueberry Cosmo which was delicious. I of course had a Guinness (its Keltic Bar & Tap, so what else would I get). Appetizers included the Irish egg rolls and fried Brussels sprout. Both excellent. We ate the egg rolls before i could take a picture. For an entree, we split an order of beef and fish Street tacos, again both were superb. Great to have this pub nearby, we intend to visit again really soon! read more

While staying in a nearby hotel on business travel, I was pleased to get a recommendation to visit this location. Sunday night after 7 PM, I found a very inviting Irish pub. While traditional, they did have a wide selection on their menu from Shepard's Pie to Street Tacos. Irish Nachos to traditional nachos. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. The service was wonderful and the prices very good. I gave it 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations for a Irish/Sports Bar/Restaurant. I'll definitely return. read more

My first visit to this place occured on a Saturday. I had the Rueben and fries. The corned beef was really good. My only complaint is that the menu claims the Half and Halves beer pours are 16 oz. Mine was no more than 12, probably a 10 oz. Mentioned it to server but no attempt was made to explain the discrepancy. read more

Great place to grab a beverage and order some quality pub grub. The beer menu captures a variety of quality options and is displayed on a large screen tv over the bar. There are a variety of other tv displayed about the interior of the venue which provides patrons with options. The bar was clean and lit offering a multitude of seating and there was tables on the opposite side of the bar which offered great options for business lunches or other gatherings. They kept the temperature comfortable as well. We were greeted by the Lunch Bartender "Brenda" who was warm, respectful and friendly...she quickly brought water and menus over then allowed us time to look over the options to satisfy our hunger. Myself and my companion ordered the mac and cheese along with a seltzer with lemon and a tasty warm fuzzy kittens. The decor was limited to Irish bands and beverages and typical pub colors. The bar was spotless and contained a number of bourbons and other liquors which was interesting. Our food arrived shortly after a few sips of our beverages and was really nicely presented. The mac and cheese had been oven baked and was paired with crunchy bread crumbs making it an ideal lunch on a gray damp day!! The mix of cheese and macaroni was just right and the extra crunch of the breadcrumbs was refreshing. I say this as someone who is in the know ...many bars and restaurants simply throw things together forgetting that the key to mac and cheese is in the details Brenda was attentive but did not overbearing and we both enjoyed chatting about the bar industry and the status of business. She was well versed in mixology and appeared quite skilled in managing the bar. I also ordered a piece of cheesecake that was quite tasty and embellished with blackberries. This dessert was fresh and obviously had not spent time being overly refrigerated as so many other places do to a dessert . All said and done, this independently owned venue is really quite good, it is not fine dining however in this age of post Covid the building, staff, beverages and food coupled with a clean neat condition deserves to thrive- I would give it a try read more

Stopped here on a road trip home. The manager/owner? Was super friendly and welcoming. The food was great and the drinks were delicious. Our starter was good, but didn't have a lot of non-fried choices. Great drink selection and plenty of room at the bar. But, you'd never know you were in an "Irish Pub". There was nothing on the walls, pretty bare and could barely hear any music. Really, no atmosphere at all. Food very disappointing today. Normally the food we have gotten in the past is very good. I've twice ordered the sweet potato fries, and they were both overdone and almost burnt. The chicken tenders tonight were also overdone, dry, and tasteless. My husband tried the Irish nachos but the chips were also burnt and looked like a flat pizza. Definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately, the onion rings were soggy and very greasy. The last two times we had them, they were delicious. We will be back again, I'm sure this was just a one off night. read more

I came for lunch a few weeks ago and the atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit awkward, with no music, empty walls, and bright lights. However, the bartender was very speedy and kind. This made the atmosphere much more comfortable and welcoming. I ordered the reuben and it was absolutely amazing. They did not skimp on the innards of the sandwich and the fries on the side were nice and hot and fresh. They give you a cute little bin of condiments for your table too, so you don't even have to ask for additional sauces, etc. I do recommend this restaurant for lunch! I did not have any drinks during my visit, but other customers seemed very pleased with theirs. I will be coming back to try some! read more

The little man and I went in for lunch. He got a cheese pizza, ok at best. The crust was on the soggy side, and it was just not too flavorful. I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich, ehh. Cheese was 90% melted. Very little bacon on it, to the point that if I didn't see it I wouldn't known they put any on there. The onion rings were really good. Our waitress was also a positive for this place. Been here several times now and they always are on point. Have had several entrees but my absolute fav is the Shepards Pie. Its amazing. Clean the bowl everytime. Waitresses are always extremely nice and attentive. Good selection of booze. My only issue is the seltzers. They offer an amazing selection of flavors. At least I thought they did but then I noticed one night the bartender squeezing crystal light in the glass. Aahh so thats the "flavor." I wonder now am I drinking alcohol in my seltzer or just seltzer and chrystal light? Second...whent they they first opened they had Pappy's 10 year. Yes the infamous Pappy's on the menu. I had to have a pour. Went back a few weeks later and its gone. I hae yet to see the bottle again on the shelf. Other than that its a great place with great food. Can get busy at times but it's a great place with good food and great service. read more

Went here for our anniversary last night. I know, should have set the bar higher, but figured we're more sit at the bar people than get dressed up and flipped over water glass at the table kind of people. As is customary, I order wings and nachos. Those are two tell-tale signs and pretty easy bar staples. If you screw those up, then I don't have much hope. Ordered a Guinness, bartender left it under the tap for a solid 10-15 min while she made more drinks. Food came out, wings were ok, pretty standard bar wings. Hellfire sauce is indeed hot. The nachos came out lacking the beef we ordered. Bartender said, sorry about that, then the kitchen dumped some beef on it and sent them back out. So there we were with our burnt nachos, now 10 minutes old, with some hastily dumped beef on top. How hard are nachos? Apparently impossible around here. I mean, am I crazy? Are my expectations too high? When I'm paying 13-14 bucks for nachos (which take all of 45 seconds and a couple min in the oven to make) to not be burnt and to have taste? Got one more Guinness, the wife and I decided to go home and eat pizza bites because they're better. First and last time at this place. Looked like it had potential and would have been nice to find a regular spot, but this is a one and done. read more
