Food is great and portions are generous. Try the fish and chips! Servers are friendly and attentive. I am there at least once a week for trivia and eat dinner there nearly every week. Very disappointed and we felt very unwelcome. We've been going there several times over the last year unfortunately we will not be going back. There is plenty of open tables out on the patio, but we were told we'd have to sit on one with no umbrella granted it was a very hot day and possibly they had reservations, but nobody sat at those tables for over an hour. The staff is entitled and rude. The food is OK but it's a 40 minute drive from our house and it was supposed to be a date day. Sorry not sorry we're not going back. read more

So was excited for the brunch and Bloody Mary bar they advertised and was posted on Facebook even called a few days before to ask if it's really busy and the girl said it's not bad, got there they included the brunch menu only to be told they haven't had brunch in 3 months as well as the bloody Mary bar it was a huge disappointment but what we did order was very good so I would still recommend it. read more

Prices are very fair and portions large. It was more than we could consume. Menu is extensive. So many options. Blackboard was Louie B's, Wok on Water and Prime Steak. We went on a Saturday and maybe there were 4 tables filled. When I go out I'm looking for a vibe. It wasn't there. There was entertainment but a very slow paced acoustic singer. I won't go back until the weather warms up and we can sit outside. I'll stick to a burger next time. Service was great. Very attentive. Manager also came by to check in. Clean. Not prepared for the summer. It took 2 hours to get our food. We are told this had been an issue last 2 weeks. Kitchen is understaffed and waiters are not supported. Manager didn't know how to turn around the experience and her staff pay the price. If she is as rude to them as her guest no wonder they can't keep staff to service customer. We asked that the soda and 2 beers (less than $20) be taken off the bill while we waited for 2 hours the food, they ultimately charged. Its not about the $20 for me it's about knowing how to run a business. read more

Beef was tasteless except for an excessive salty taste. Neither of us finished even 1/2 of our burgers! Only question from server: Would you like a box?" We both said "no". I'll start with pros because the list is shorter. Food tasted good and atmosphere was nice. Cons:2 1/2 hours to get our food. More waiters than tables and still couldn't get my drink refilled 1x before we left. So 3 1/2 hours 0 waiter refills, meaning 2 hours in we went to the bar and refilled our drinks our self. I ordered chili and it comes with chips. 1 1/2 hours after I got my chili, and after asking 6x I got my chips. Then they had the balls to charge me for my chips separately. Avoid this place for atleast a couple years so they can work out their staffing. Food was above average but staffing was easily the worst I've ever seen. read more

The food was not bad especially considering the pricing. The ambience is great in the summer I bet, and fine when I went. The service was absolutely awful. Among the worst I have had anywhere recently. The initial length of time before being serviced and the follow ups were egregious and extremely irritating. Bad to the point where I considered if I was on a game show. It was not busy there and seemed well-staffed. I will attempt going to the bar one more time (where service tends to be better in most places). If it is any where near this bad, I will never come back. I left feeling very aggravated. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Blackboard on Congamond Lake in Southwick, Massachusetts. I had excellent mussels with garlic toast and my wife loved the Lobster bisque. Reasonable prices and very tasty food. Place was great. Great waitstaff. Very friendly. It was a Friday night and friendly crowd. The band Cobblestone Road was playing and we danced all night. Met some great new friends. Parking is available but you might have to walk a bit but soooo worth it! Newer owners I believe please check it out. Bartender / waitress was great. Food was not. A fine place for meh pub food, but don't expect anything better. Calamari was plain meh - assuming straight out of a bag from the freezer. Nachos were cold & again, meh. I mean, how HARD is it to make Nachos?!! Don't be putting cold chili on the nachos!! Great venue. A string of restaurants have failed at this location but I have very high hopes for this current proprietor. Good menu balance; great pricing and the quality to go with it. Ugh. Arrived on a beautiful yet cool sunny day and only the front/back (?) bar was open which is dark and as far away from the lake as possible. Ordered wings with the garlic parm sauce and they were drier than dust. The Shepard pie balls interesting, gravy a little off. Staff very accommodating, drinks good. Hopefully things will be better once summer arrives. Keep on trying! Great spot! read more

So this is what our rolled up utensils looked like... yes, a fork and AA battery. When we told our waiter he just laughed along with the staff. The manager then came over and said "it's a game the staff plays on each other". Needless to say it's only funny when both parties laugh, this wasn't the case. The food was very good...once we finally got it. Not sure, but I think they lost or forgot our order. And the place was not busy. A lot of staff just hanging around not doing much. Our waitress was good at the onset, then became non-existent. Never asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. I would chalk it up to poor management and training. Again, the food was very good. Let me start by saying I've been here a few times with no issues, last night (7/30/25) was a crap show. We sat inside. I ordered a drink and the waitress took our order, came back with my husbands drink and had questions about mine (burnt toasted almond). She wanted to know if by burnt I meant extra strong. I explained that burnt is with a shot of vodka and she shot back at me, "I know how to make it, I just want to know if you want it extra strong". I explained again that I did not want it "extra strong", just a normal drink. Food came out and my husband ordered the meatloaf meal which he did not like but does not like to complain. Waitress came back to see if he wanted another drink and he did then gave me a look and asked if I wanted one, I told her not thank you but when you get a moment I'd like a seltzer water please. She pointed to the water on the table with a bewildered look on her face and said (rather rudely - like she was stating the obvious) "you already have a water" I said, No, seltzer water and again she said i already had one. After about a minute she finally realized what I wanted. I'm from town, don' t have an accent and speak perfectly good english. When she brought the bill to the table she asked my husband if there was something wrong with his meal, shame on him for not saying something but he told me it tasted "weird". He took it home and threw it away. I've sent several friends and family members here and they've had good experiences. Also, there was a family of 8 beside us who were complaining about the flies. They were everywhere. We won't be referring or going back any time soon. It was not that busy, we noticed a lot of wait staff standing around so that can't be used as an excuse. Very sad. My opinion of this place has changed. If the owner Greg does keep his word. Please see below for my positive comments. We all make mistakes. I pray this will not happen again to to those that are in need of their service animals. Those that try to abuse this should be politely asked to leave. Please read last paragraph below. The following did happen. Only to the fault of the manager, not the the owner. Myself and two other people with disabilities on different occasions were asked to leave while having a service dog with them. No explanation, o ly that they only accept dogs that wear a vest and paperwork is needed to be shown describing that persons disability. Against the law on so many levels. This place is a disgrace. While the manager was very unprofessional and uninformed, the owner did reach out to me and expressed his apologies to us. He informed me that he will train his staff to respect people we disability, meaning service animals. People who bring cats and birds should be ashamed. These are most likely comfort animals. Not service animals. A big difference. Those people should be shown Theodore in my opinion. read more
