Our server was fun and the staff is old school (and I mean that in the best possible sense in the service industry). . I'd give it more stars if possible.

The NY dog tasted better than the Coney dog. The coney didn't taste the way it was expected, but it had a lot of ground meat on it. The egg, hash brown and toast was as expected. The rooster omelet wasn't too bad. The turkey Rueben was okay, would have been better with kraut instead of creamy slaw. The Greek salad was so-so, nothing so special about it. The onion rings were good at least. The woman at the checkout gave me such a hard time for asking for a copy of the credit card receipt, she asked why the itemized isn't good enough. She told me if I want the credit card receipt, she's taking the itemized bill. I said I would still like a copy of both the itemized as well as the credit card receipt. She placed both back on the counter top with a bit too much drama. How lazy, rude, totally unprofessional and unpleasant was the checkout staff member. The table service and food was a 3. The checkout service was a big fat zero! The experience was ruined by one person here.

The restaurant is conveniently placed right next to a free 2-hour parking lot that had plenty of spaces open at 8:45am. We were promptly seated after walking in and greeted by our server. She brought us soda and coffee and then took our orders. My fiancé asked for a side of bacon to be on the rare side (flopping), but was told that the chef precooks some items, so he probably wouldn't be willing to make a fresh to order side of bacon. Our food came out really quickly, the side of French toast i ordered was delicious and a much larger size than i anticipated. My fiancé, who claims to be a "pancake connoisseur" said his Chocolate chip pancakes were amazing. The bacon fell short of expectations, but overall the meal was excellent. The prices on the menu aren't insane compared to the size and quality of most of the food items. I think a few tweaks to the aesthetics of the restaurant, and more flexibility by the chef would go a long way. Definitely come in if you're hungry, and looking to avoid breaking the bank for a great brunch.

The chicken and waffles appeared as if they had asked a 6 yr old to draw for them what he imagines chicken and waffles should look like. It was literally 3 chicken nuggets sitting on a waffle. The coffee tasted as if it had been wrung out of a sock from the cheapest bean known to man. It tasted like someone went to Colombia and asked them what was the bean they hated the most and then bought it by the pound and brought back to Michigan. The hash browns were not well prepared. The cook obviously never met a seasoning he liked as these potatoes tasted as they were the kind used for boiling and served to prisoners in Dublin circa. the 18th century. I will not be returning to this place and others should beware.

Daily specials and breakfast served all day. I went with my craving: 2 coney dogs with fries and a drink, which happened to be the special. Although it was busy, there were still open tables. Service was fast and attentive, including the time-honored skill of keeping drinks topped off. Everything was good, and Jackson Coney ranks among the best coney places in the area. I can't wait to try their breakfast! One thing that was concerning to me: fruit flies, or something similar to them. It's been super cold out for a while, so these things were coming from inside somewhere. There were but only a couple, thankfully.

The stale oil fryer smell almost knocks you over when you go in. 2nd - I took my 40 oz cup in - so it didn't sit in the hot car (95+ degrees that day). The waitress came and said "the manager said you can't have that in here" as she shrugged and gave me a quiet "I'm sorry". Didn't even wait to see if I ordered a drink or not (which I did, btw). 3rd - ordered our food - - is all I can say (I think you get the picture of how bad it was. My aunt was dying right up the street at the hospital so there was no real ability/opportunity to leave as we hadn't eaten all day and we were trying to get back to the ICU. We could have had a better "meal" from the hospital vending machines... I went to college in Spring Arbor and remembered that this place used to be better than average for a small diner type restaurant. Then I heard the guy who owns it bought "The Parlour" (whooeee, back in the day it was THE PLACE to go for ice cream with all my college friends!). And, then I saw that The Parlour was permanently closed... what? How could that be?? Well, if the food and service deteriorated to what this place has become then, I can see why! An iconic place shut down because - eww, gross! Honestly, don't waste your time and energy here - go to the hospital vending machines and get something to eat if the cafeteria is closed, you'll like it more.
