We hired At Home Expert (AHE) to do the remodeling to both bathrooms. Also to do the tile and backsplash in the kitchen. (Laundry room too). We did not have AHE do the cabinets but, I wish I would have hired them for that as well. At the time I did not know AHE did cabinets as well. They do it ALL! I went to the AHE showroom and met with Evan Rousan. We have used Evan R. before on a different home and he did an EXCELLENT job on it , so why use someone else. Plus, he is just a really nice man! Evan helped me design my 2 bathrooms and pick out great back splash and flooring for the house. I had a budget set in my mind and he helped me stay on it. Evan also gave me some advice on what would look good & what would not. I really appreciate that! He was not just trying to make a sale. The tile selection at the showroom was fantastic, just what I was wanting. While Evan's crew was doing all the work at our house, we decided to have them paint almost all of the inside of the house and paint the fireplace. (I love how the fireplace and mantel came out!) When we have other projects we will definitely check with AHE first.

When he came over for a consultation, he took copious documentation on what we wanted, including photos, measurements, notes on our discussion, etc. 2. His wife followed up with us via email on the quotes and contract. 3. Pricing is not too bad, not the cheapest we came across, but definitely not the most expensive. 4. He brought 1 worker with him, and came on time and on the right day as agreed, with all of the materials prepped in advance. 5. They finished up the 3 rooms in 1 day. 6. They brought and wore their own disposable booties to keep our floors clean. 7. They cleaned all of the mess before they left. 8. I was sent an email copy of the receipt following the engagement. All in all, a no hassle deal. Some of the things that could have been better: 1. The worker Gary brought with him left dirt stains on the newly painted wall which we had to clean. I'm sure if I mentioned it he would have made sure it was cleaned up, but I didn't notice until they were already gone for the day. 2. The finishing work (i.e. nail hole patching, caulking, painting) wasn't as clean as we would have liked, but I guess that's what happens in a one day job. That was passable. Final Cost: Stairs: $2,369 (16 Stairs) Labor: $3,136.50 (597 Square feet) $3,536.84 (Wood) Total: $9,042.34 Note: Joe said the cost of the wood went up because of the Tariffs and trade wars. This caused the wood price to go up and my final price to increase. This also includes the additional hidden cost for leveling (I will discuss this in further detail below) Joe (Owner): Very nice and completed a fast quote in a timely manner. Does not perform an on-site post job inspection. Very hard to get a hold of to fix an issue. Will not fix an issue if it will cost him more money. Contract (estimate): Very detailed, I highly recommend you read every section and have a clear understanding of the contact before he performs work. One of the hidden contract fees are leveling, Joe gave me a very not good answer as to why this is not included in the initial estimate. I was charged an additional $540 for 6 square feet of concrete in various locations. I would have been ok with the charge, he could have at least had an estimated cost. As his contracts say estimate at the top. I take the blame for not accounting for this cost, I did not think I would have to pay an extra $500. I did not take off for this in my final three-star rating. Communication: Very poor, I had issues after the job, and he would not answer the phone. I would call for a few days before I received a response. He will respond rapidly if you offer him a new job. Then he would recommend fixing the issue with the new job. None of the workers speak English very well or at all, I don't have a problem with this issue. I did have a problem when they did not re-install the stand on my cabinets. They did not understand the issue and I still have a stand not install on my cabinet. Cleanliness: The workers left wood dust daily and left a shirt and wood pieces. The workers retrieved the shirt three days after I let Joe know. Joe apologized. Workers: The workers changed twice in during the job, I would have liked to have the same workers every-day. Or at least one familiar face. Craftsmanship: I had a squeak in my floor during installation, I alerted the guys as the installed the floors. They ignored me (communication issue), once completed I alerted Joe and he had them come out two weeks later and use all of my extra wood to fix the issue. The squeak is still in my floors.

My wife and I decided that we wanted to update our Home that we lived in for the past twenty-five…read moreyears. My wife wanted to start with a Kitchen remodel and I wanted a Patio Cover so I could sit outside and enjoy our great view. We started the search for a contractor that could do both projects and had several estimates from local contractors. I stumbled across Babylon JT Construction on Yelp and gave them a call. They sent Sal to my home to talk with us and get an understanding of what we were looking for. Sal immediately impressed me with his knowledge of both kitchen remodel and building a Patio Cover. Sal worked with their estimating team and cost control to provide us with an estimate that fell inline with the other estimates that we had. Since I was impressed with Sal and the estimate was reasonable, we went with them. Upon agreeing to the work Leslie was assigned as our project manager. Leslie was remarkable and one of the hardest workers I ever met. She coordinated all activities of the Kitchen remodel and then later the Patio Cover build. We wanted to have our Kitchen bilevel counter lowered into one level and decided to use Quartzite stone for the countertops and backsplash. We had old wallpaper that was removed and the walls textured and painted. Jose was the craftsman that did the actual work and he was excellent. His attention to detail is remarkable and he was very dependable. The actual Quartzite stone was installed by a subcontractor but it turned out very nice. My wife is very happy with the new kitchen and I must admit it makes a big difference. I have posted a before and after pictures. Whenever we had a question and reached out to Leslie she was always quick to respond even after hours and weekend. After the Kitchen was done which took almost a month by the way we then started with the Patio Cover project. I needed HOA approval so Leslie coordinated with the design team and Leonard the construction supervisor. Leonard is an expert on construction and took the thoughts that I had and put them into reality. He knew exactly what material and labor was needed. Leonard worked with Leslie to develop drawings, renditions and a material listing. Leslie prepared and submitted the HOA packet for me and answered all the questions that they sent back. It took three months between the HOA questions and finally getting approval. Once approved Leslie coordinated with Leonard to start the construction. Leonard had Carlos who turned out to be an outstanding carpenter and overall construction expert. Carlos and his helper did most of the actual work and really did not require much supervision. Leonard and Jorge, another construction supervisor did provide good quality control and visited the job site often. Carlos and his helper did a remarkable job building the Patio Cover that turn out even better than what I had envisioned. We get a lot of complements on it from neighbors in our community. A special thank you to Babylon and especially Sal, Leslie, Jose, Carlos, Leonard and Jorge. Without a doubt I highly recommend Babylon JT Construction for any Home renovations you may need.
