I have my Company fleet vehicles Serviced by these folks I found Toni and Cliff Craft to be exceptionally business savvy and trustworthy. Shop owner/manager Cliff Craft is old school and can be sarcastic and funny and in these days business climate, it is needed. There old business location was in in the heart of "Troy's drug central". These folks stayed the course and operated at this location for over 100 years. this past twenty being our fleet mechanic's. I met these people while visiting troy during street cleaning, yup, street cleaning, and you can guess. "I got towed." City of Troy" were I met Mr. Craft, Of Kennedy's Towing. hes colorful, and crusty. lol Great Mechanic, very knowledgeable, our mechanic. for our company vehicles. and a good friend. my car was towed - my fault and I had to go here to pick it up. this guy ripped me off and took total advantage of me. I gave a credit card and he said cash only and charged me another $35 because HE turned away my credit card and made me go get cash. My 18 yr old son's car was towed from where he had parked it after it broke down. The location was next to the rental house that he lives in. He was unaware that the spot he had placed the car on was for another property. Supposedly, there were 2/3 notices placed on the car to remove it or it would be towed. These notices never materialized when he picked up the car. The car was towed @ 1.5 mi, w/a towing charge of $150. Comparable towing charges are $60. The tow co. picked up the car late Feb. 22. It arrived in their lot late afternoon. My son told my husband & me on Feb. 23, that his car had been towed. We called the garage. We were told that storage of the car is $45/day & $90 was already owed. Since the car had only been on the lot for about 24 hrs, I asked how that was possible. I was notified that it wasn't based on 24 hrs, it was based on days. We arrived on Feb. 24, around 1pm, to pick up the car. $150 + 3 days storage + tax, = total bill ($311). The car wasn't on the lot for 48 hrs. When the car was released, the battery was dead. He and a friend had to push it. Because of barbed wire that was improperly fitted around a tree, which was behind the car, my son's jacket was ripped & ruined. I finally started to help with pushing the car to get it off the lot, & after a few feet, fell on the ice covering the parking lot. This man obviously makes a living off of other people's misfortune. He's very good at quoting the law for the City of Troy in the State of NY in terms of unregistered, uninsured cars. Apparently he's been doing this for a very long time. Why is this garage allowed to practice highway robbery & charge on outrageous fee for towing? Why is this garage allowed to charge 3 days of storage, when the car was on the lot for less than 48 hours? Why are they allowed to have ice covering their parking lot making it incredibly dangerous for people to walk on? Why is the barbed wire sticking out away from the fence where somebody can get hurt on it? Why wasn't the car taken off of the lot where we had reasonable access to it? This is a disgraceful situation and I am appalled that the City of Troy, in the State of NY allows it. read more

Terrible & dishonest: stay away! They punctuated my tire and broke my rear harness when towing my car, then fixed it in incompetent wrong way which produced even more damage (to tpms sensor etc.) I had to pay for the towing and for the repairs. People who work there are only moderately rude but they are spectacularly incompetent. read more

I have lived in this city for the entire 48 years of my existence. Listen To Me Please because, my 17 year old son did not and it cost him $1,100 for absolutely nothing. (Lesson learned the Hard Way for Him) I have video, audio, and a receipt with mathematical errors totaling 100's of dollars, that any 3rd grader could point out to you in a second but that is not even the worst part about this company. They had the vehicle 9 days to do 6.7 hours of work, charged 1100 dollars and sent my 17 year old son home with a mathematically incorrect receipt, with a note at the bottom that read as follows, "VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DO NOT DRIVE. CUSTOMER WAS ADVISED & OFFERED TOWING @ NO CHARGE TO LOCAL ADDRESS. DECLINED TOW" I am a lifelong resident of this area and would never degrade a local business unless it was very well deserved and trust me this place is the biggest scam in town. REPLACED PARTS FIXED NOTHING! This place is so bad I was forced to contact NYSDMV Vehicle Safety Consumer Services and filed form (VS-35) with them and hopefully they will have their NYS Registration Certificate Revoked. This place is the best. I live in NYC and I'm about to make the trip to make this place my regular mechanic. After 4 tow trucks, countless lug nut drills and 5 hours spent trying to detach a tire that was fused onto my car, he was able to get it off in about 40 minutes, had to bring out the torch, and was even able to save the tire. This guy is the best, by far, that I've ever seen, and I've traveled far and wide. read more

My sprinter chassis RV broke down and I had it towed to Kennedys. The owner could not have been more accomodating working after hours to try to diagnose the problem and apply a fix. Recommend highly for pre2007 model year Sprinters. read more

This is very poor service! Do not have them tow your vehicle! I called for tow, he sent a personal vehicle, because he had no tow trucks available! The guy who towed my car, ripped my car frame and did front end damage, my car took a beating! When I went to the office, for a receipt, when I stated we had a problem, he ripped up my receipt and told me to get the hell out of his office! I assume he is also a fraud, since he wanted cash, verses credit card! Was not going to charge sales tax, if I paid cash! Worst service ever, guess we will be off to small claims court! read more

They're involved in some sort of racket with the city of Troy. They towed my car and charged me for the tow, which I understand. Then they had the audacity to not release my car to me until I payed them the full price of the ticket that was issued by the city of Troy. The city of Troy needs to get their own tow trucks and do the dirty work for themselves. This is criminal and the best part is I had to pay the city of Troy for the ticket too and when I brought this up to them they said that there was nothing that they could do. It sounds like they're in on it too. Kennedy's Garage is nothing more than a shady shit hole in a shitty part of Troy that would probably go out of business if they had to do real work and stopped sucking on the local government's tit for easy cash. read more

The owner is very rude .he scream and cussed at me .after i paid of course and threatened to charge my card more for the MIS understanding my car broke down and i received a lift from police officers to the nearest store which was Cumberland farms .so when i called to get a tow. I said Cumberland farms. For one i did not have the address to where my car was just the RT and i also needed to get back and i was getting dropped of with my car.I knew how to get back to my car which was on the way so i thought no big deal. When the tow truck driver reported that the car was not at Cumberland farms .the owner called my phone and begin to accuse me of being a liar .and let me know there not a "fucking taxi" and that i was going to get charged all of these fees.i was only doing what the police officer told me to do..why wold i pay 292 dollars for a tow and not get picked up and still be stranded 50 mins away..i would have paid anything to get back .and if it was extra that would have been fine but for the owner to scream at me like he was doing me a favor was on called for and very unprofessional on a lighter note the tow truck driver was very nice and helpful and he seems really honest but i would never call that company again and i strongly recommend calling a company that show there customers respect. read more

As a woman who knows next to nothing about cars, it was important to me to find a mechanic I could trust. Cliff is that guy. Every time I have brought my Subaru in, Cliff has been honest with me, only charging for work that is necessary, and not trying to take advantage of me. He is friendly and professional, and his (very reasonably priced) repairs have always held up well. I will be moving out of Troy, but will travel the extra distance to continue having him as my mechanic. read more

My father's car was towed by Kennedy's on private property in an apartment complex where he has a signed lease. The car was parked legally in the spot it is parked everyday. They showed up around 5:30pm on 12/26/17 after most people had returned from work and others were away on Christmas vacation. My father had returned from work 20 minutes earlier and went outside to see his car on the tow bed and they were in the process of towing my moms car as well. I spoke to tow truck drivers and explained the situation. They claimed they were hired by the complex to tow cars for snow removal. They said they would unhook the cars and told us to move them. I went inside to get the car keys and when I came back out, less then 20 seconds later they left with my fathers car. The tow drivers refused to tell the residents where we could pick up our cars. When I spoke to the owner, Cliff, he said I was lying and that his driver asked whose car it was and we told him we didn't know. Why would we tell them we don't know whose car it was. They released my mom's car but not my dad's so obviously it was us the tow driver spoke to. We told 2 drivers one was employed by Kennedy's, which my dads car was on and the other employed by another company, who said they were contracted by Kennedy's which had my mom's car hooked up. They both said they would release the cars. When I spoke to Cliff about going to small claims court bc they said they were releasing the car then left, he replied "let's go to federal court" and then threatened not to release my dad's car. He towed several cars to a private parking lot which he did not have permission to use and the manager was displeased their parking lot was used. He would only release the cars with a $220 cash payment. To me it is shady that a business would only accept cash payments and tow cars from private property after they spoke to the owners of the cars. Kennedy's is known to only accept cash payments and is known around the area to be crooked. When my parents spoke to the complex manager she was not sure how Kennedy's became involved to tow the cars. It could have been someone who works for the complex that called them but it was not the complex manager. The complex is resolving the issue but Kennedy's screwed over many people and put them in a bad position the day after Christmas when it was obvious most of these residents were home and their cars had actually been moved during the day. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Awful company, extremely expensive, tried to make me wait to pay for storage so he could charge another day under the guise of "don't pay on the phone, just come in tomorrow". There's a difference between running a business and ripping people off. It's been less than a month since he "fixed" my tire, and I brought it back home to my usual mechanic for a normal checkup and it turns out he used the cheapest parts that have already worn down, and did a half assed job taking several weather covers off and not replacing them. The new tire he put on was of a different brand and was dissimilar from the other tires which screwed the alignment. If the cop didn't call this towing company I wouldn't have had to drop several G on my car for Kennedys to do a crap job, then pay a real mechanic to fix his mistakes. My mechanic is horrified. The day I was picking up my car I talked to some locals from troy and they said "Oh god you went to Kennedys? He is going to screw you over and destroy your car" I can't believe how right they were. read more
