I've been living 10 years now in Albany's Center Square, and I've had my share of parking tickets which were my fault. But one thing I do, is make sure and honor the temporary no parking signs in front of homes. Unfortunately, this time, the signs were not placed in the right locations, as should be, which is the homeowner's responsibility to remedy especially if someone removed them. I arrived home late last night from work and of course it was impossible to find parking. I saw an area with some, but there was a no parking sign for two spots in front of a home having construction done. I looked up two car lengths, and there was no sign in front of the tree in the open spot, so I took it. But there was another sign two spots up which I could not see, and even then, it was not for the location I was in. Seems like someone took down the sign that was in the middle. Anyways, next morning my Jeep is gone. Talk about being extremely upset, but this is Albany Center Square, and knowing how the parking is not the greatest for residents, I took a deep breath and sighed. The parking authority doesn't care about the residents when it comes to someone else's created problem. Anyways, since this was the first time, I didn't really know what to do. I callec the Albany Po Po, and they directed me to Capitol District Towing. I was concerned since my Jeep is old. But the lady at CDT was very helpful and apologetic, even though it wasn't her fault. I got there in time to get my Jeep, which was parked safely, and just like I left it. They looked like a class act, and will use them in the future for my towing needs. Hopefully, one that is not related to Albany Parking Authority towing it when they and the resident were the ones who were at wrong.

On similar occasions I've been stuck for the weekend. The gas station clerk recommended Phil'a. It was close, he said, and they had worked on his car before. They had a reputation for helping people who were far from home. Connor came and towed our car. He was pleasant, affable, good-humored, indulgent, and his manner helped to put me at ease. He told me probably his boss would look at it in the morning and hopefully they could diagnose and fix it by the afternoon. That's exactly what happened. By late Saturday afternoon I paid a very fair price for the repair and towing, and drove away feeling tremendously lucky and grateful. John the mechanic even seemed a little abashed that he'd messed up his addition and nearly overcharged me by 22 cents! Friendly, honest, capable, decent, kind. Thanks very much indeed, guys.

It was covered by my car insurance so I can't speak to the price or value but I would definitely seek them out again if I needed a tow.

NEVER. USE. THIS. COMPANY...EVER…read more I needed a tow and called my roadside assistance at 430p to help. Perlman's is contracted through them and was dispatched to assist. I was told it was going to be a two hour wait even though they are contracted only for an hour wait. Fine. Two hours pass and no one showed up. I called my road side assistance and when they contacted Perlman's, Perlman's said they canceled the tow because their truck broke down. A towing company only has one truck?!? No one ever called to say the tow was canceled. So now I have to wait ANOTHER hour for a different tow company to come get my car. It is now past 7pm and I have an infant with me. Perlman's was EXTREMELY unprofessional in this situation as they never contacted ANYONE to let them know they can not do the tow. If they had, things would have moved a bit faster and I would have made it home earlier with the baby. This isn't the first run in I had with this company. There was another time, months ago, where again I needed a tow. Again it was a two hour wait. Again, they never showed. They said they were busy and couldn't make it to me. I again had to get another company to do the tow. I will never give business to this disgrace of a company.

The tow driver was very respectful when he got to our house which was 30 miles away. The driveway has a short incline. He showed concern about not damaging our driveway. He took the car off the bed and drove it up the driveway. I don't think you see that often. I think their price was worth it. I can't compare because we haven't had a need for a tow in years.
