I'm looking for a new dentist. Thing is, I am a member of the Maryland Healthy Smiles program,…read morewhich is linked up to medicaid (I think) so I can't just go to any old dentist. First off, there are steps here. Because I am a wheelchair user, in order for me to get into an exam area I had to go around to the side of the business and come in the delivery door. I could not use the xray machine that revolves around the head because I'm too short and they don't have any sort of chair or stool to use. I was able to get x-rays the old fashioned way, where they make you bite down on those slides... Then I had to pay $30 out of pocket for the dental assistant to paint fluoride on my teeth, which peeled off throughout the day in a disgusting manner. She spent the entire exam recommending that I buy a $100 battery-powered toothbrush and the $50 replacement heads, cuz medicaid patients are just made of money, I guess. Thing is, she didn't want to sell the toothbrush personally. She suggested I get it on Amazon. Why the hard sell if she wasn't going to profit from it? I get through the exam and the actual dentist comes in. They discuss where I have cavities, they tell me I need to see an oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth removed because at least two have cavities, but they never told me when to make the appointments or how to find a surgeon. It's been over a year since that appointment and I'm glad my teeth don't hurt because doing the research to find another dentist has been a pain in the butt. My boyfriend used the same dentist the week before to get three teeth removed. He's still in pain when he eats. Yes, a year later. He was present at my exam and mentioned his pain several times, but neither the dentist nor the assistant gave any cares. I cannot recommend this chopshop. There are many dentists in the dundalk area. Try one of those instead (though not the one on Merritt Blvd near jalapeños cuz the receptionists there don't know what they're doing). Good luck on your mission.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I can't express enough gratitude for Dr. Andersen!…read more For nearly three weeks, I had severe pain in one of my back teeth along with what appeared to be a "lesion" on the inside of my gum. I saw two other dentists and was told that my tooth was fractured and needed to be extracted. I came to this office during their annual free extraction event expecting to lose the tooth. Dr. Andersen took the time to thoroughly evaluate the situation and wasn't convinced that extraction was the right answer. She determined that the "lesion" was actually a piece of bone protruding through the gum and removed it. Almost immediately, the pain that had been bothering me for weeks was gone. I am incredibly grateful not only because she found the real problem, but because she saved my tooth. Her knowledge, patience, and willingness to look deeper instead of rushing to remove the tooth made all the difference. Thank you, Dr. Andersen, for your exceptional care. I truly can't thank you enough.

I went in needing a crown. The dentist examined and x-rayed the tooth, but then refused to schedule…read morethe repair until I first booked a comprehensive exam for the rest of my teeth. I reluctantly agreed, and then on that second visit a different dentist demanded I undergo extensive imaging unrelated to the crown in question. When I declined the panorex she refused to either treat me or refer me to another dentist. This was unprofessional and unethical. If you want to make your own dental choices, this is not the practice for you.
