Donald is a passionate man with a lot of years of experience and he is one of the best refinishers in WNY. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience working with him. He refinished my floors and reglazed/cleaned up a really decrepit bathroom, which the previous homeowner left covered in literal crap and feces. He did all this within a day of the time he said he would, so his craftsman and quality of work are a solid 4.5-stars. He can literally transform your old tiles in your bathroom and make them look brand new with a different color saving you money from ripping your tiles out and installing new ones. He can do one of the best floor jobs in the area as far as sanding goes, although not without imperfections (but he would probably be upset at you if you pointed them out). However, our relationship fell apart when at the end of the job he asked for $450 more than what he quoted on paper because of the excellent work he did. He claimed he would be "really disappointed" if he didn't get paid that extra $450 and practically tried to emotionally bully me into doing so, going as far as threatening not to work on another project for my wife that he already previously discussed with her. I ended up paying him $300 over the quote and I don't even think he was happy about that. Not once throughout the job did he call and say it would be more. We did talk about some extras like some simple shoe molding, but he said it wouldn't be more than "300 max" and then asked for 450 more without putting the shoe molding on (because I told him not to at the beginning of the job). I think we had a misunderstanding and miscommunication, because when I told him not to put the shoe molding in--I assumed that the job would cost the amount he quoted on paper. I wouldn't have minded paying him if he communicated throughout the job that it would be extra to put some transitional pieces of wood in. To his credit, he did put a super nice transitional piece of beautiful wood to cover the transition from tile to staircase and did an incredible job with it and the pieces from staircase to living room. Those were honestly worth the extra $$$, but it's just the lack of communication that had me upset and then the unwillingness to listen to the customer. He went as far as hanging up on me when I tried to discuss it with him. So overall, if you can put up with a temperamental artist - Donald is your man because he does beautiful work, but he's not that great at the customer-facing side of the business.

February 18th Charlie started on my 856 square foot flooring project consisting of an alcove under the stairs, living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bedroom and hallway with 2 small closets. Removal of the old flooring and installation of the new, to include trim and quarter round on the kitchen island. I was to order all the necessary supplies. Everything went well with removal and most of the installation. Due to the house not being level, we had a small issue with the doorway to the guestroom. On March 3rd I told him, and we decided a transition strip would be a good solution. He finally came back on March 31st to fix that and install the stair nosing. When he went to install the stair nosing, we realized I ordered the wrong item. I told him I would message him when the right one came in. On May 12th I realized I had forgotten to message him so I messaged him to see when he could come finish that and he said he could probably come out around the 30th to the 1st. On June 1st at 7:44pm I asked if he was able to nail down a time to come out here. He said no later than Monday. Sunday June 8th, he asked me for pictures of the area because it had been a while since he had seen it and wanted to make sure he had all the right materials. I sent the pictures of the 2 spots that needed the stair nose and an additional text stating that there was a spot in the doorway that lifted and a picture of the area. That was the last time I heard from him. I texted Monday, Tuesday and today, all showing delivered but unread. My husband called him and it went straight to voicemail, then texted him and told me the imessages went from blue to green, showing he blocked him. He then called him using a VoIP number and Charlie answered on the first ring. When he said "hey, this is James" Charlie immediately hung up on him. We sent him a final text from a different google number saying "it's cool if you don't want to fix the problems and we won't contact him again, but it would've been nice to get an answer instead of being blocked" which was also ignored. The work that was done looks great but for the amount of money we paid him, we expected the job to be finished.Overall the work that was completed looks great and we are very happy with it. Unfortunately, not being completed as per the agreement cancels out the positive in this situation. I would normally give a glowing review for the work completed but as it is unfinished and we now have to hire someone else to complete the work we have already paid for I would not recommend him for future projects for anyone.

The contractor who ripped out the pre existing floor destroyed my moldings and I was told they would be replaced by the store manager. Then when it was time to install the floor they couldn't find a installer so they hired one that has never worked for the store. He installed a uneven floor with chips and two different colored floors. The wood floor is now higher than the porcelain,which they promised would not happen, there are multiple tiles uneven with tiles sticking up everywhere. They promised to redo the floor and said they have to find a contractor first which never happened. It's been months and they never even came back to reinstall the sink they removed. My wife is sick with terminal cancer and they left her with no sink. They keep coming up with excuses but never do anything about this botched job not up to industry standards. They even blamed the fact that my wife is sick so they hired the only contractor available to get it done for her. If that was the case they should of reviewed his work before ruining our home and disappearing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Apparently the underpad was glued to the concrete and they didn't want to remove it and left it... not putting down the thick pad I was promised. I called to complain that there are barespots and bumps and John himself answered the call but never came back to repair. Never again would I have this terrible company set foot in my home. They lie, manipulate you and have terrible customer service. DO NOT USE THEM
