This place is an Austin institution and one of the best places in the city to experience live music. This historic venue has been a local hangout for great music since the 1950s. The club was dimly lit with lots of stickers, graffiti, neon signage, paintings and interesting artifacts. While it has been a long time since I have been to the Continental club, it still felt truly Austin and very unpretentious. In the Continental Club you are literally I feet away from the live music. A dog was sleeping on stage, which made the place feel homey. The club is small and intimate, exuding a super personal persona. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for such a small venue. Tonight we listened to Hot Club Cowtown...they sounded folksy and a bit country western yet enjoyable to listen to. Folks were boot scooting, so maybe more country western. Mike the doorman was super personable and helpful. He happily provided the WIFI password and was super engaging. In addition, it is important to note the cover was free until 9 pm. The crowd was a mix bag...locals, tourists, and musicians who love live music. Austin is affectionately known as the "Live Music Capitol of the World". Great music...great time!

Instead of basic customer service, I was met with attitude, irritation, and eventually being called "bro" and spoken to disrespectfully in front of other people. I work in service myself, so I'm usually very understanding, but this experience completely killed the vibe of the night. If you're going to charge upscale lounge prices, the staff should know how to treat customers professionally instead of acting annoyed that someone wants their order made correctly.

We were there for different performing acts and it was cool to see how they were different but how they could both also work the crowd. There is seating on the sides of the bar but a lot of people like being right in the middle to be able to see and be up close with the live music. What a great place for some good music and great drinks. One good places is that my hotel that was staying out wasn't too far away so I was able to walk back afterwards.

The venue is near the airport, which is a nice change of pace from fighting downtown traffic. Parking is available on-site, but note there's a fee; budget for that or factor in rideshare costs instead. The modular warehouse features varying floor plans and layouts with a large main room floor, upstairs mezzanine, two outdoor patios, and an adjacent field. The set was held inside, on the large main room floor. Two opening DJs got the crowd warmed up before Amelie Lens came on closer to midnight. The pacing felt right. I always wear hearing protection to music events. Keeping this in mind, the sound system was clean and powerful. Parallel screens running the length of the room, front to back, added a whole visual layer to the night. They clearly invested in getting the audio and visuals right. A detail worth mentioning for anyone planning to go is that there are free water dispensers set up in the back, which is a small thing that makes a big difference throughout the night. Staff were friendly and attentive all night. Service was smooth, and I never felt like the venue was understaffed or overwhelmed despite the crowd. Overall, this is a well-run venue with solid production value, thoughtful amenities, and a lineup that delivered. This is a room that respects the music. The sound and the flow of the night were perfect. Would happily come back for another set.

This place has also been rated the third best club in Austin several years in a row. They always manage everything so well despite the number of crowds they get. I've never waited longer than five minutes to get a drink at the bar. The Security staff is always so attentive and on top of everything. The staff checking everybody in is always happy polite and very pleasant to be around. I just can't wait for them to increase the height of their screen because as an avg girl who is 5.7" I never get to see any visuals or anything that happens on the stage or the screen. I recently went to silo and Dallas and did not have that problem at all because the screen was significantly higher. Concourse however really is home to the entire rave community not just in Austin, but in all of texas. This place will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. They have an insanely delicious food truck that operates in the space outside that always delivers the best quality food. The only thing I would say about that specific food truck is that they seems scam me by taking advantage of intoxicated people through their tip system. The last time I went to pay, my suggested tip was defaulted at 25%, the next option was 30%, and the one after that was 35%. With how poor the rave community is, it is highly unfortunate to see that specific establishment, taking advantage of people who are under the influence and cannot make coherent decisions. This is of course, not a concourse problem, but a problem of that specific food truck operating in the backyard of Concourse.

The ambiance appears to be upscale and feels like a speakeasy. At the back of Parker Jazz club is a very colorful bar, which is something you might likely see in New Orleans, LA. The place is charming, cozy and welcoming. In addition, it is important to note there is a parking garage across the street and ample street parking. Performances range from jazz and swing to Latin influenced sets and special themed nights, featuring both local and touring musicians. It is great to find a venue like Parker Jazz Club that offers live music other than primarily rock and country western music. While I don't like the venue as much these days since the staff downstairs is overly aggressive if you aren't "within the lines", it's still a great place to catch bands in a tiny outdoor venue (just don't drink so much that you fight back like I saw someone do tonight). Tonight was a lot of fun but that one staffer kept pushing people back out of the walkway if they didn't listen after the first time he asked them. Unnecessary. Luckily they don't do that on nights when it's less crowded, but honestly they should never be putting their hands on patrons. As far as food...i think they have a hot dog thing on July 4th weekend and a pancake party during SXSW but otherwise you won't get food here. But they have in and outs if you are over 21 . And the beer prices aren't horrible if you're here on a night with a good band. They are high though any other night for just hanging out (and you should drink elsewhere).
