Ok, My first time in Texas and first time at this track. May I preface by saying, my family are…read morehorse racing owners and breeders on the west coast. That being said, my expectations were a bit hit and miss here. But mostly a fantastic experience. I love that it's exquisitely beautiful and very clean. I love that staff is formally dressed to impress! Collared shirts and all, it allows the guest experience to feel better. The cream of the crop though is the trumpet guy. He was everywhere and making people feel really special, by playing and getting the crowd to sing, he's really magnificent. A stand out to all other tracks, as nobody has what he does! The aircon is fabulous, so you can feel comfortable the entire day! The food service stations were helpful and nice all great! Each employee has a specific job , so nobody will help you if it's outside their job we discovered, as in helping find seats, getting programs, where's the ice cream, where do we enter for premium parking? All questions we had a tough go of. I wish there were umbrellas out front for shade, I wish more tables and chairs ground level inside, I wish there was a pony station to pet the ponies? But no. Another surprising thing I saw was a pony rider, while waiting on the track, smoking a cigarette! One cinder flick in the air onto a horse or person is not safe at all. Am really shocked this is allowed. Totally loved the "car wash" to the side for the horses who just finished, what a treat to see and treat for the horses, people say they love it. Could be good for marketing! Speaking of which, in my week there, most locals where I went, grocery restaurants gas stations didn't know that track existed! It's a marketing thing but maybe big Texas track doesn't need the money, not sure. Houston has the very best marketing team. Perhaps get some pointers! Now, this is by far another best, the track announcer! He's really the best, he talks loud enough and slow and has the most kind and caring voice of all. Most track announcers act like they've had ten gallons of coffee, not this guy, he's like everyone's loving grandpa! He keeps everyone up to the minute, and we just happed to be there with the inclement weather closure and the race collision and he was cool as a cucumber! Another one of a kind. And then lastly, security. Top notch, they make sure you are accounted for with proper ID and all, it likely any horses here will be tampered with or stolen, fat chance! And the outriders, again top notch safety, they secured the loose horses that fell super quick, they are constantly on the lookout for safety, getting ponies in line organized for each race, for a guest it looks so well organized! Sorry such a long read, but loved it here and wanted to share and hope this helps others who wish to spend the day or more here, it's so so fun! A MUST DO WHILE IN DALLAS!

It wasn't super busy so it was an easy fix. Pay attention to where you're seated if steps are an issue. All of the food in the buffet was very good. There was a carving bar with prime rib and turkey. There was a make to order pasta bar. And salad bar. Plenty of food and you could graze all night. I think the buffet close just before the second to last race. Non alcoholic be enrages were included. Our waiter wasn't that attentive once he knew we weren't drinking from the bar. But we did ask for a carafe of soda and it all worked out. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely one of the best experiences I have had…read more I went up to the track with my dad and a group from his company. We joined the other 27 future race car drivers in our driver-training meeting in the media center at Texas Motor Speedway to get our instructions and safety lessons. We were met by Kirby (aka Big Block), who taught us the ins and outs of what we were about to experience, and how best to safely speed around the course. When we went outside, we were suited up, given a helmet, and we made our way to pit wall where we were paired up with an experienced driver who was going to take us around the track at 165 mph for a few laps. The ride-along was a blast. You really get to experience the stress that is put on your body going into a banked turn in a stock car. How the pros do that going 30-mph faster for 400 miles is absolutely beyond me. It was then our turn. Big Block had taught us that as long as we follow the line of our pace car, and keep a 3-car length following distance, then they will go faster, and therefore we can follow going faster. Unfortunately for my first couple laps we got caught behind someone who wasn't quite comfortable with the 600-horsepower they were controlling. But after we passed them (safely of course), we really opened up. Each lap I got faster and faster, and topped out over 135mph! It was incredibly fun, and the staff there really makes the day enjoyable. Everyone who I met not only loves their job, but makes you love the whole experience. You really get an appreciation for what the NASCAR guys do week in and week out. I really recommend anyone to have this experience.

Yes, my loving wife got me the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience for a Christmas gift. We were…read moresupposed to do it here in Corpus Christi TX, but it got cancelled. For the inconvenience, they gave me 5 bonus laps for a total of 15 to do it in Kyle TX. at the Central Texas Speedway. I had scheduled it for Sat, but it got rained out, so they let me re-schedule it on Sunday, not a problem. Finally the day came. My scheduled time was for 12 noon. Because of all the rain, they had to dry the track. The fun was supposed to start at around 8am, but didn't start til around 11:30am. We got there around 10:30am and had to wait till around 4:00pm when it was my groups turn. We didn't mind the waiting, it was a beautiful day. I also did the ride along. Having a real driver take you around the track like it should be done was COOL!! He ran it to win I thought. Then it was my turn at the wheel. There was 4 of us on the track at the same time. 2 people only purchased 10 laps, and I had 15 and the 4th had 20 laps. Plus the ride along cars came out on to the track also. What made this a NEAT experience was, we had an ear pad type speaker in the helmet. So, a spotter was constantly telling every driver how they were doing, or if they needed to move down and let the other car pass. The only time I had to move down was when the ride along cars were coming thru. I lapped the field, THAT WAS WAY COOL!!!, not that we were racing, but it made it fun!!! Larry and his crew did the best they could do because of the weather. His crew was very polite and answered any question you asked. Larry's safety class was great for the first time racer too. He goes over the basics well, and he also makes sure you know what you need to know. All-in-ALL I would rate the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience a 10 out of 10!! I bought the video too. Do not go to this location…read more I had one of the sketchiest customer service experiences I've ever had here. To keep it short, my wife and I arrived and purchased two rides. My card was charged, but I was then told they couldn't see the payment on their end and refused to let us ride unless I paid again. The first charge had already processed, and I even showed them my bank statement, but they wouldn't accept it. Since it was my wife's birthday and we didn't want to ruin the evening, I paid a second time so we could ride. Later that night, I lost my wallet. Thankfully it was found, but when I got it back, the $200 cash that had been inside was missing. I know it was there because I originally tried to pay with cash and was told they only accepted cards. When I brought these issues to Phillip, the manager, he was dismissive, rude, and took no accountability for the situation. As for the duplicate charge, they denied any responsibility and refused to refund it, despite the charge clearly appearing on my bank account. I ultimately had to dispute the charge through my bank, and after more than a month, the dispute was resolved in my favor. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend staying away from this business.
