This place has grown so much since they opened when I was a little girl. The family knows my family so well we rarely need to place our order. The most amazing part about Kenny's Cafe is their prime rib! Every other Friday night they have their famous prime rib special with your choice of veggies and rice or mashed potatoes, Au jus, and yes they STILL offer medium-rare for their red meat. A lot of restaurants only cook medium-well or more well done! Honestly, I like my meat still mooing when it comes to my table. M and P, the owners, are wonderful people and now their sons are working in the restaurant. They expanded in 2006 and remodeled the tiny cafe so they can seat more people on their busy nights. Better than the other cheap Chinese places in town; such as the two strip mall shovel slop garbage in Linda Mar and the other in Manor, and much better than Raymond's mediocre Chinese. but not nearly as good as Tam's nor is it much cheaper. Half the menu is so bland or salty its inedible and their hours are very lazy. Still if you know what and when to order they are an okay fallback. This has been here as long as I have lived in Pacifica, and I didn't start eating here until a few years ago. And you know what? I really wish I had. The prices are right. I thought I'd be stuck choosing either Tam's (very expensive unless you get lunch special, excessive msg) or whatever the fuck that one place in Linda Mar Shopping Center is named (very gross food in there). We ordered the lunch specials: one order of beef tofu with steamed rice, and one order of cashew chicken with fried rice. We also ordered the salt and pepper tofu and potstickers. The lunch special came with hot and sour soup. When coming in to pick up the food, the lady at the front noted that they accidentally put fried rice in my lunch special, and asked if that was OK. I said it was fine. She noted that they included an order of fried wonton on the house, which I thought was nice. While the portions were very generous, the food was not very flavorful. I did ask for no MSG, but there are other Chinese restaurants that do not use MSG, yet season their food very well. The potsticker dough was nice and thick, but the bottoms were not crisped enough. The hot and sour soup also did not have strips of pork in it, which I'm used to with the hot and sour soup I usually order. The salt and pepper tofu also needed additional salt and pepper. The beef tofu was ok, but I wouldn't say that it's the best quality beef that I've had in a lunch special. I will still support the business, as they have a good variety of food, and the other option for Chinese takeout in my area is Panda Express. read more

Kenny's is one of those places you always want to be there when you have a hankering for Chinese food -- tasty food, generous portions, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. We particularly love how Kenny's cooks veggies. Our family is not in love with many green things, but if we could eat all our veggies from Kenny's, we would -- even my 9 year old son agrees with this! Kenny's is a pleasant place with poor food. The pot stickers had only a little flavor in the filling, a very thick dough and almost no crispiness to the bottom. I've had far better pot stickers from the frozen foods section. Seriously. Kenny's Prawns sounded interesting, though I don't understand what "braised deep fried" prawns means. Again, thick breading. Kenny's café is one of the few places that is never a let down. The honey walnut prawns are 2 thumbs up and if I had 3 I would give it that. we order carry out a few times a month and they are quick and easy to deal with. The location is back a little bit but once you open your eyes (per a past review dissing the location) and look to your right you will find it and is a gem of Pacifica. I do not write reviews thrashing local business's but if the food was not good I will let you know. The prices are reasonable and food gets to you quick. read more

I grew up in Oakland, and have been eating Chinese/Cantonese restaurant food since the 50s. Anywhere I have gone, I have compared meals to those restaurants (which don't even exist anymore). None have come even close, except for Kenny's. The lady who came to clear our table noticed that our Chow Fun plate had all the sprouts left in a neat little pile. She let us know that, next time, just let them know if we don't want them, and they'll leave the sprouts out ... wow. Now that's personal service, and said with a smile. I've been eating there on and off for years and have had some decent meals, but never again. For the last few years it's been hit and miss. One time I found a piece of plastic mesh in my food. Our family has been eating at, and getting takeout from, Kenny's regularly for the past three years. It's the best Chinese food in Pacifica. I'm actually surprised at all the low ratings. This place is awesome! My family has been ordering from them for years. We usually order the hot-and-sour soup, fried rice, mooshoo beef and honey walnut prawns, the walnuts are sooo good! I highly recommend these=) Personally, I think the quality of the food is very good, Ive never gotten anything cold or over-cooked, plus the price is very good too=) Today I ordered 5 huge trays of fried rice for an event at my college and they gave us a huge tray of fried wontons with 2 types of sauces plus 2 large bags of fortune cookies on the house!! I particularly like their Beef Chow Mein Hong Kong Style. I stopped going because one waitress appear to hate me. One incident when I inadvertently tried to scoop out some food out of the plate she was suppose to pack for to go. I even said sorry, but that was it, I was not forgiven by her. Dee-li-cious. We stumbled upon this place by chance. Lunch specials were over, so we ordered fish fillet with veggies, with a side order of brown rice. It arrived with more sauce than I'd expected, and slightly darker, but very tasty, and with lots of fish. A very satisfying meal for $14 including tip. read more

I don't eat chinese food often, but when I crave it I go to Kenny's. This is my moms favorite place to go! When we order take-out we always get the pork fried rice. beef chow mein, orange chicken, and a couple other things I can't recall at the momment. There are 5 of us in our fam and we always have left overs. I have never been disappointed with their food and the lady's who work there are always very nice. What's good about this place is they serve breakfast along with chinese/american food.You could have "won ton soup" with your bacon cheeseburger.The food is very reasonable,most dishes are two thumbs up,The co-owner & head waitress " May Szeto" she has a great personality.The serve lunch specials until 2:30pm.
