Not to many current reviews so here goes. Kenny's has great food. Their corned beef sandwiches are AMAZING. Their fish fry delish. Yes it's noisey, yes it's crowded, but it's a sports bar.But it's fun the wait staff are great, Its clean and the food is worth going back for. So try Kenny's you will NOT be disappointed. It's fine. Food wasn't terrible, but not great - borderline good. The dining room is like a bowling alley dining room - I don't even know if that makes any sense - but that's the first thing that came to mind. The bar area is your typical neighborhood bar, it is a wrap around, so its size-able. A few bar games. Bathroom, clean. NOT an Irish Bar as it claims. read more

When the college kids are off school it's all about them. The folks that are here week in and week out get short shrif. I spent $150 a week in here and the new barmaids just fawn over the college guys. Think I'll be taking my $150 elsewhere... read more

Ricky is right. This place is the HUGE LT hang out. Everyone knows everyone in this bar. I've never had the food here, and the prices are decent. It's the starting place of a long night, which usually ends in *ugh* Brixies.... They just remodeled the bar, and it looks GREAT! The staff is friendly, the food is surprisingly good, and they have some good specials...you can get a meal here any day for 5 bucks. I don't think I've had a bad meal here. Some of my favorites are the cajun steak sandwich, broasted chicken, and the pizza is really good too. I have one major gripe with this place though. If you hang out there and have a few too many and decide to take a taxi home, they will tow your ass. So it's like they punish you for over serving you. What the shit is that? read more

Been going here for years. It is one of the better bars in the Countryside/LaGrange area. They have specials on drinks every day. Their food is pretty good, your average bar fair, but their reubens and burgers are extra delicious. They have darts and a few other games. The staff is really nice and the owners are usually there. It's a great neighborhood hangout and really nice when you can sit outside in their back patio and play some bags. The only problem, I always run into someone I went to highschool with...for some reason it is never anyone I'm interested in seeing again. read more

I was dragged here for the Bears Monday Night football game two years in a row...and well it was okay. They had some free food special during halftime that was good....but I had already ordered food before the game (oops)...my food was average...nothing special...drinks were just drinks. I really thought it was pretty interesting how there were people from all age groups...which gave it the neighborhood atmosphere. read more

Coming from RB i didnt find myself out here to often, even less often considering that I dont really do local suburban bars. Kenny's seemed like the local LT kid hangout, always filled with alot of people around 21ish who seemed to all know each other. The drinks are ok, the music not bad. Nothing special about this spot..just another local place. read more

Ah yes...the classic "Irish" bar. To be entirely honest, these types of bars are no longer anything special throughout this area and for the most part, they are all the same. This is not to say that Kenny's is not a nice place. Located in a small shopping-center type area, there is not a lot of parking available and it can be missed easily if you are not looking for it. The interior is open and nice, with dark lighting and signs and other items displayed across the walls. The bar area is large and has tons of seats surrounding it in case you would prefer to stay away from the regular table seating. There is also a small section of arcade games available, including at least once slot machine. I have visited this place a few times now, and the most recent one was during a Trivia Day. The place was absolutely packed and incredibly loud- much louder than small bars tend to be. Regardless, it was obvious that everyone was having a great time and in reality, isn't that the point?! My friends and I sat at a table near the game area to enjoy a late lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries (my personal favorite bar meal). It was good, but nothing exceptional since it was just a basic burger. The service was friendly, but pretty slow. It took us about 20 minutes to go from finishing our meals to receiving the check. All in all, it's a regular bar and nothing special, nothing bad. I would recommend if looking for a typical bar to enjoy a meal and a beer, but other than that, I probably wouldn't spend too much time here. read more

Eh. Whenever I'm here I feel like an outsider. Everyone who's everyone that went to the local high schools knows each other. I'm not from around these parts so I only know the small crew I'm with that did go to the local high schools. Don't get me wrong, I love the crew I'm there with but....yeah.... Food is good, I enjoy their fish n chips. They have food specials everyday of the week, I believe. Decent beer prices. I have no issue getting wasted here and because it's one of the better bars in the area I will be back time after time with my crew, as I have in the past. read more

Apparently there are two yelp listings for this place so I'll just post my previous review here as well. As someone who has gone to Kenny's since they opened, I hate to write this review but it needs to be said. After a grammar school fundraiser my wife and I went for a nightcap with another couple. At some point while we were there another patron accidentally knocked over something at the bar. Inexplicably, the male bartender then threw the change for our drinks in my wife's face. She didn't knock it over, just happened to be standing nearby and wound up getting money thrown in her face for nothing but paying for drinks. This obviously didn't sit well with me and I went around and asked to see a manager. A younger(ish) guy came over and said he was a part of management and I explained what happened and simply said I wanted him to be aware of it and it shouldn't be tolerated. In the middle of me explaining this to "management", a man seated at the bar decides his input is either (a) necessary or (b) welcome and yells at the manager to "kick me out" while getting in my face creating unnecessary conflict to the situation. At this point, a female comes out from behind the bar and tells the guy to sit down, explaining "it's my boyfriend." As I explain what occurred at the bar, my wife is standing comes up next to me and the female "manager" says to her, "the bartender is just pissed because he's trying to get out of there to meet his booty call," somehow believing this is an acceptable answer. No real apology, just he's pissed because he's late for a booty call, which is supposed to somehow be acceptable. Didn't bring him over to apologize which would have preempted this lengthy negative review. She then says to me, "here are some tokens" which I politely declined twice and told her I don't want the tokens, I simply want to make you aware of the completely unacceptable conduct of your bartender towards my wife. She then shoves the tokens in my pocket and says "please take them, we want your rich people money." This obviously threw me off since (1) I'm not rich and (2) who says that? I turned and said I'm sorry, what did you say to which she repeated "we want your rich people money." Needless to say, between the bartender throwing money in my wife's face for no reason, the complete confusion of who is in charge, the drunk boyfriend jumping in and attempting to instigate a fight, the lack of any apology but instead tokens to a place that I don't know if I'll ever step foot in again, and of course the "we want your rich people money", my experience there was less than special and deserves no stars. It's truly a shame, I enjoyed this place a lot over the years but it's unlikely I'll ever spend my "middle class money" there again. read more

Average place. I'd avoid the pizza. Now that Illinois has outlawed smoking in bars and restaurants I am revisiting some old haunts. Management needs to get on the smokers standing in front of the doors and enforce the Illinois law requiring them to stay at least 15 feet away. It seems that smokers are unable to police themselves, and in defiance stand right at the door. If I were the boss, they wouldn't be able to smoke anywhere near the place. But, that's just me. Have fun at Kennys, its a great place. read more

I've been here at least a dozen times in the past four years and there isn't much to say aobut it except that the bartenders and servers were cool and always on the ready to re-fill your drinks. My ex practically lives here so that's what brought me in so much. Too nice to be a dive bar, too "eh" to be anything more, it does attract quite the crowd on the weekends but would never be my choice if I revisit Chi-town in the future. read more

The staff at Kenny's is awesome. Especially the white guy with the Afro and the big Bald guy, they are the best. Highly recommend this establishment. Plus they throw out rude college kids. read more

Bar is fine but they have the worst pizza I've ever eaten ( like cardboard and cheese very little sauce).

Kenny's needs some serious work. First, it's the loudest place ever--and I'm married to a musician, so I know loud. Second, it's a wide open space designed to pack people in and over-serve them. Too much AC. Not much wit or atmosphere. No live music or performance space. Never seen dancing. Yes, it's clean--but the kind of clean where they hose everything down in bleach every night. The Irishness is debatable, so I leave it up to the customer to decide if hanging lots of signs on the walls makes a place Irish. Then there's the food. I've had excellent potato skins here....but also a C-plus burger. The wait staff seems well-meaning but there aren't enough of them, ever. All that being said, I know nice people who consider this their go-to bar, so it holds the affections of some. Not my kind of place, but I guess it's affordable and available. read more
