I would not recommend this granite and cabinet company based on our experience. What should have been an exciting kitchen remodel turned into a frustrating and stressful situation. First, it took them three weeks just to come out and take measurements for our cabinets, which immediately delayed our entire project timeline. Communication during that time was very poor. When the cabinets were finally delivered, one of them was damaged, and instead of taking responsibility, they blamed us. To make matters worse, the countertops that were installed were not the ones we selected -- and they were also damaged. After bringing these issues to their attention, they have now stopped responding to us altogether. At this point, we are left with damaged products, the wrong countertops, and a delayed remodel. Extremely disappointing customer service and lack of accountability. I strongly suggest others proceed with caution. read more

My husband and I had granite counter tops and a large single bowl sink installed during a kitchen remodel in February 2021. Last night (July 2024), the sink fell out of the counter top. (See pictures below). Here is the text exchange between the company and I since no one returned my phone call, nor did this person even call to speak to me at anytime. (all from the following day of the fall) Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "Good morning. That's very unusual we can fix it no problem we can warranty anything that old but can deduct 50 percent to fix it.we would get 400 so would 150 be ok w you can do it this am if your available" Me: "We thought this to be very unusual as well. When the sick fell it caused damage to the pipe and cabinet. The garbage disposal appears to be ok but will need that looked at as well. When you say that you can come out this am that is great. Will all of this be fixed in addition to the sink?" Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "No they can't fix cabinets but can hang the sink. I can get guy to do that probably 200 Or so our cost I am confused. What will be fixed and what would I have to pay? Would be 150 and approx 200 so 350 or so" Me: "For what? What would be completed?" Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "Ok so rehang the sink. Have to look at the garbage disposal if running smooth if not they vibrate everything apart. 150 fix cabinet best we can. See about plumbing 200-350 approx so 350-400 total can't guarantee the cabinet repair looks like painted ?" Me: "Honestly as I research & talk to more & more people I am questioning this sink's installation. In talking with contractors, insurance people & a friend that installs sinks such as this It appears our sink was not supported well enough. As you know an undermount sink needs to be well supported. Now as I needed to take a closer look at the job there isn't even a silicone ring or anything on the top sink lip nor are there any other supports but the 4 clips (2 of which are now totally gone as the sink pulled them from the granite.) I waited for your assessment & it still doesn't make sense to me nor sound fair. "garbage disposal ...vibrate everything..."?? this sink was installed 3 years ago. This should not happen. I feel this is your companies fault. You should have insurance too cover for these rare instances. As a customer I do not want to get into a back & forth. I do not have the time nor the energy-- Nor should a customer have to do that. We are just lucky no one was injured. Thank you for quick communication,& assessment. I just do not think it's fair nor just." Upon further review of my notes from the installation, I was reminded that a piece of the countertop was cut incorrectly. The dimensions were accurate but the L shape went in the wrong direction. The company decided to cut the new piece free of charge. Not sure why I would have been charged for a recut error. I am very happy with my beautiful counters from Kenosha Racine Granite. When I first went to look they had a huge selection of beautiful stones to choose from. The best and largest selection onsite for miles around. Lucas was very knowledgeable and patient. I was having a hard time deciding what to go with. He explained the different types of stones and their durability. He allowed me to look over everything a few times and made some suggestions. I finally settled on a lovely piece of quartzite that had large Chrystal pieces that light will glow through.. When Don the owner came to measure I told him I'm hoping for an Easter miracle. It was just a couple weeks away and I was hoping to have my counters installed by then. He let me know he would do his best. It would have been done but unfortunately I had to make a last minute change due to the cabinets coming in damaged and having to redo a section. They were all very patient and kind and recut the section I needed. when they came to install my counters there were a couple cuts that fell short due to a couple odd angles. The installers called Don and he immediately said " I'm sorry .How can I make it right?" We worked out the details and he recut my counters and let me keep the original stone I purchased and cut them into pieces to use as a coffee table and end tables. I could not bare to part with these beautiful pieces of stone. The customer service was awesome! I appreciated him working with me to correct the mistake. This is no longer common in todays world (as I unfortunately learned with the cabinets). I would definitely use them again in the future and will recommend them to all my friends and family. We paid a downpayment on a quartz bathroom countertop in Feb. As of Nov 15, we are still waiting for someone to come and do final measurements so we can get the counter. We cant proceed with our bathroom renovations without this piece. No calls. No followup. Meanwhile, out of 3 bathrooms, we only have 1 bathroom downstairs which has a functioning toilet and sink, not the two bathrooms upstairs by the bedrooms. Why no communication.? read more

Walked around the warehouse, picked up 3 different slabs of quartz "at difference price points" (but how could he know because nothing was marked or bar coded, went back in the office and the sales guy says "ok I texted the owner for prices"...uuhhhh how did he even know what we picked out? I own a real estate investment company in Milwaukee. We rehab 30-40 single family homes per year in the greater-Milwaukee area. I was referred to Don at Kenosha Racine and Granite by one of our contractors. We hired his company to do cabinets/granite at several of our projects. They failed to meet reasonable deadlines and their workmanship was extremely poor. At a large rehab in Wauwatosa, it took them two months to install cabinets that I paid for in full, in advance, and was promised could be done in 2-3 weeks. Don completely ignored my calls/text messages for days/weeks. I just received a message from the buyer of one of our properties today. This buyer told me the island granite was not secured to the cabinet. I have no hope of hearing back from Kenosha Racine so my only option is to hire another granite company to fix the problem. Do not hire this company. You will be frustrated and disappointed. There are several other cabinet/granite companies in the area that are reasonably priced and much easier to work with. read more

If I could give Racine Kenosha Granite zero stars I would, if you are looking for fine workmanship and a quality job please look further. Their workmanship is less than poor, and we had to fix many of their mistakes and when they were pointed out they got frustrated with me for wanting my kitchen to turn out how I planned it to be. They were rough and dinged and dented our new cabinets, did a terrible job on the seam of our countertops it had to be done many times and still looks terrible. They used my tools and did not come prepared with their own... strike one. Came into our home smelling like weed and looking high... strike two. We were promised a kitchen before Christmas and we had it by late January...strike three. Steve was respectful only to males and completely disrespectful to females. Please save your time, money, and frustration and find better company to work with. read more

I had Kenosha Racine Granite do the granite for my kitchen and baths. They did a good job in the bathrooms but cut our island wrong 3 times. The first time they realized their mistake right away and took the piece back to the shop. The second time they installed it and didn't think we'd realize it, so they had to come back out and take the piece out. The third time, they recut the same piece as the second time and installed it when we weren't there. In order to make the piece work, they moved our cabinets without consulting us about it. Now we have a gap in the flooring and the cabinets aren't flush with the wall. That's still currently the piece that's still in there. The sink is still not center but "good enough" right? Super unprofessional and I will never use them again. Kept complaining to me that they would be losing money on this deal. Well, do it right the first time and that won't happen. I had Kenosha granite order and install cabinets and countertops for a full kitchen remodel. This was suppose to be a high end install with cabinet and counters. First of they took a large deposit cashed it as soon as they left my residence. Full install was to happen in 2-3 weeks. It took months to get them in to install the cabinets and counters.(By the way they are not truthful as well)I don't want to even go into their truthfulness issues. I had to call several times and at one point they stopped answering my calls I needed to go to their shop to try and expedite the install as I couldn't take waiting any longer as we had no kitchen in the house for months. They finally came out to do the install. What a sloppy and not professional job. Some of their installers looked like it was their first day to install a kitchen. 1) Cabinets secured with one screw in most places. Just uncalled for there was plenty of wood studs behind the wall as I fixed this after they left as one cabinet started sagging and almost fell to damage the new countertop. 2) Cabinet doors are crooked and not aligned. Soft close doors are crooked and not aligned drawers don't close and the cabinets are not level. 3) My floor was level yet their installation they decided to use shims and the cabinets are not level. How do I know its level it took me weeks to install it myself and its properly done you can tame a quarter and slide it across the room that's how level it is. 4) Microwave built in cabinet they provided the wrong one. Their fix use reciprocating saw to cut the hole for the cabinet. Which they cut really uneven took me days to make it look better. 5) I had farm house sink that they were to custom make cabinet for. farm house sink was delivered to their shop. They decided to use reciprocating saw to cut sink hole as well and it looks terrible. For a precision cut a router would be better to be used. 6) The quartz counter I had them install its floating in air...why you ask because the cabinets are no level. With a full install cabinet and counter the counter should be directly on the cabinet not floating in air.My suspicion is they even used a lower grade cabinet for my spice rack as its at a higher elevation level, they did this to try and save cost as the finish of the cabinet does not match the other cabinets as I had these cabinets custom painted. And this is another reason the counter is floating in the air. To close this post. They are nice at first once they cash your payment everything changes. If you want to see the quality of what a very expensive kitchen looks like from this installer let me know I can give you pictures. It floors me that these guys are still in business as its just not acceptable, a child can do a better job than these guys did. They just don't care about quality customer service is terrible. Do not go to this place as you will have issues. I can show you the pictures of the installation they did in my pleasant prairie wi home. Don the owner gave us the info we asked for, but withheld important info on pricing. He kept going back and forth and what the price is almost as if he was just making it up as he was going along. That along with almost begging him to get back to us in a timely manner makes it near impossible to plan and to budget for a big project. I can't imagine if we hired him and god forbid we needed his help on what they installed afterwards. We would probably have to wait for months until he would show up to fix any issues. In my opinion they seem like they are lazy, unwilling to help unless you beg, they don't respect your time but you have to respect theirs and downright unprofessional. I am a licensed architect and this is the most unprofessional company that I have ever worked with in the construction industry. We had to work with this company for over 6 months and still ended up having to hire other companies to finish their work. We submitted architectural drawings to the company, specifically to both Don and Mark, in late July for them to bid on. The drawings showed custom cabinets for a pantry and a double wall oven along with some custom painted island. Don provided a quote and asked questions but never once did he say they could not do custom cabinets. We selected this company and gave them a 50% down payment. After a month of going back and forth with questions and answers, they slowly stopped replying to all messages. We requested shop drawings of the cabinets to make sure everyone was on the same page before the cabinets were fabricated, which is a standard practice in the construction process . We received only part of the shop drawings, which were very different then the drawings that I, the architect showed. After telling them their shop drawings needed to match what the architect's drawings showed, they said they couldn't do it and that they do not provide custom work. After fighting with them for weeks over it, we decided to pull the custom cabinets from their scope so the project wasn't further delayed and use another company for that. Unfortunately, we did not walk away from them at this time as we thought we were in too deep (it only got deeper) We requested that they update their shop drawings and send us the missing portion of the shop drawings that was submitted originally. This took over 6 weeks of back and forth to get corrected shop drawings. They keep telling us what we want to hear. Its always, "we will have the cabinets done for you in 2 weeks" Well after nearly 5 months of this nightmare, we were still without cabinets and countertops. It only got worse when it came to the countertops! After we finally received the cabinets in the middle of December ( which we had to pick up from them and rent a Uhaul because we could not trust them to deliver them on time), they would not let us cancel the order for the countertops - they said they were already ordered. Don looked me in the eye, shook my hand, and said "the countertops will be installed no later than January 19th". Well as January 19th rolls around, they stop replying to all forms of communication and they do not show up on January 19th. We had to physically go to their shop to get an update on where the countertops were - no one called us or wrote us saying the countertops weren't being delivered. After going there in person, we found out that they never had the countertops delivered to there shop.The worst part, they never told us about it so we lost even more time. Throughout this time, Don had been extremely rude, insulting, non communicative and unprofessional. He had created nothing but headaches for us and didn't even attempt get this project wrapped up, even though we gave him over $6,000 as a deposit. ' We hired another company and they finished the job within 3 weeks of being hired. Please stay away from this company and do not give them your business. Please feel free to contact me directly for proof of all conversations if you have any doubt of what type of company this is. I will be more than happy to prevent you from having to deal with these hacks and suggest other companies that can do a much better job. read more

Horrible costumer service! I was told if I pay upfront ($4000-check was cashed next) my counter tops will be ready in 2 weeks. After 2 weeks were told they were being polished, this continued for 8 weeks. When the counter tops are horribly polished, uneven edges-Sloppy work overall! Dons solution: purchase another slab ($2500) and labor would be free The counter tops have been in my kitchen for about 7 weeks now and the connection is already falling apart ( We barely use that side of the counter top) read more

Slow service. Not responsive to customer's calls. They left without completing the job. We called and went into their store to ask to have the job completed. We even purchased the part that was needed to complete the job and took it to them. We were told the problem would be taken care. After 10 days of no contact from them we had the job finished by someone else at our own expense. We will not have them doing any more work for us and we recommend you go elsewhere to get a granite counter top. Look them up on the Better Business Bureau. I needed a hole drilled in my granite countertop for a water filter system I was installing. I called around noon on a Tuesday and was told they could get it done that day. Steve came by on his way home to take care of it and found that he would need to drill through the under counter cast iron sink. He gave me some options with regard drilling the cast iron in addition to the granite. (Different drill bits on a different day, attempt to drill with the granite bit, just drill the granite and I could drill the cast iron after purchasing my own bit) After some confusion on the options and cost differences, we got it figured it out and they were able to drill both the granite and sink that night. Steve did a great job and was very conscious of any mess (from dust/water) and insured everything was cleaned up before he left. I will keep them on my short list to call if I need work done in the future. read more

We had a 5 star process from start to finish, working with Mark C. We finalized our order for a custom Quartz vanity top on a Monday with a subsequent change order to expand the width and they had the perfect completed product including backsplash ready for pickup on Wednesday afternoon. 3 day turnaround, perfect quality, and very reasonable price. Best service I have had in a long time (especially since we came to KRG AFTER a very extended few month nightmare with another local competitor tried and failed a couple times to properly provide a first quality stonecast top for this vanity at more than 3X the cost of KRG's nicer Quartz top. My wife and I ordered hinges from this company in March. They told us it would be a 2 week turn around. They said they needed money up front to order the hinges. So we paid by check. I guess big mistake on our part. They cashed our check the next day. It is now August and we still have no hinges and they refuse to give us a confirmation of order or our money back. I was doing a remodel .brand new kitchen and counters. I went with this company for the full project .What a mistake. First off we had measurements done with don. The cabinets picked out were as full plywood custom cabinets as per a verbal agreement then I looked at the Contract and saw no mention of plywood. After i saw no mention of plywood i called don the owner to confirm that the cabinets are plywood. He stated they were mdf and that we never talked about plywood yet my wife was right next to me when we discussed this. After I heard that the cabinets were mdf I wanted to get out of the deal the same day we signed the contract and made a down payment as the owner was dishonest. The owner Don told me I can't get out of the deal as he ordered the countertops that day and was having them cut already. I found that in treating as he left my house At 6pm and I called him at 7pm to cancel the order. He basically didn't want to refund my money . He said he cant do a refund and that i have to work with them. Then he became very rude on the phone. By the way as soon as he left my house the deposit check he gave him when we signed the contract was cashed right away, more than half of the project and they didnt do anything yet. so after i thought I couldn't get out of the contract I thought i was stuck and I decided to still go with Don on the project. Well that was the worst mistake i ever did and in the back of my head i knew i should have got out of the deal the first day when he was not honest. Anyways long story short cabinets took months to get in ..per Don it was to be 3 to 4 weeks .turned into months..I called several times and don said there is nothing I can do it will take as long as it takes. Eventually they stopped taking my calls and i needed to go to there shop in kenosha. Finally after months they got the cabinets in and came to install them. The quality of the cabinets=cabinets that are suppose to be high end are crap, all drawers are adjusted wrong ,doors don't close,cabinets are not even. My floor was perfectly level before the install so there should be little to no adjustments required,yet there cabinet install is uneven. Cabinet for microwave was an incorrect cabinet but they didn't care they installed it anyway and cut hole with resipricating saw.the cuts were uneven took we days to fix this after they left. Once cabinet install was completed I was really disappointed at the quality of install and the cabinets but I just wanted the job to be over after dealing with this guy for months. I asked when is the counter going to be installed...get this Don says it's on back order and needs to get cut. What a lie didn't he tell me he ordered it months ago when we first started the project. Another couple weeks go by and then they finally install counters. The counters are floating on the cabinets in many areas why as the cabinets are uneven. For the amount of money I paid for this kitchen remodel the work is just crap.if anyone wants pictures of how they left the job site feel free I can show you.i had to spend my own timr fixing all there issues. It's just not right. Just a FYI Don was one of the installers. Oh by the way use more than one screw to secure a kitchen cabinet as this is just uncalled for to use one screw. I was recommended to go with Kenosha and Racine Granite Co, from a contractor friend. To be honest - initially I was cautious as this is a huge investment and the sales person made me feel rushed when I met with him at their shop in Kenosha, I got cold feet, as I was uncertain. I let a few days go by and I then contacted the owner directly Don, who met with me to go over the drawing and layout of our install, to answer my questions and come up with a total cost.. I told him I wanted to look at more options of granite and take my time. He showed me several options of granite and I found a slab that I love. The price and quality was much better then the local home stores selection. At this time I decided to put my money down and we went over the details of the total cost. The timing of everything worked out perfect, my overall experience was positive. The install crew was professional, they made sure everything was installed nicely - they know their work very well. I live in an old home and things are not level, they took time and showed me what they were working on. I was super happy with the install crew service and the owners positive responses to my questions and concerns. If you have cold feet or are not certain, take your time. Don was patient and worked with my budget and taste. I am very pleased with the end result. The only reason I am not going with 5 stars, was my initial visit to their show room left me feeling a bit confused and uncertain. If I were them, I would look at changing their format for initial meetings with potential customers and how that is conducted. We are a builder in the Lake Geneva Area. We used Kenosha & Racine Granite in a few of our homes. However, when we needed them to follow up with a client whose quartz counter top was chipping there was no response. After repeated attempts via phone calls and emails, we were able to get in touch with a sales rep Mark Cutler - who stated they would let Don know of the situation. Never heard anything more and when we reached out again to Mark we received no response back. We will NEVER use them again in any home and will be sure to tell anyone looking for granite to go elsewhere. Disappointed and angry. read more

Was told they'd arrive by 2/6. They didn't arrive until 2/14. Don nor Mark would call to tell us anything. We even went to the company several times to see what was the hold up. The only positive thing about this company was his counter top installer (Jose). He did a great job with our counter top 2/23/17. read more

K-R Granite did a beautiful job on our granite kitchen counters. Their foreman was especially clever about noticing the need to reinforce our sink cabinet to hold the new sink & counter. They worked with us to come up with a suitable solution which they built VERY quickly on site & it's almost invisible. Gorgeous results. I'd recommend them with 1 tiny reservation - be sure you get them to commit to an installation date. They go with the flow but we could not, as we had work of our own to do & had other trades working on site. read more

Very bad service. They never finished the job by drilling the hole for the vent that was there before from the old countertop and I have all the picture that proves it. They let the vent hanging from underneath the sink in which I never new about and has been a water leak in the basement And did not know why until I found out it was from the dishwasher because of the vent closure when I brough the plumber and told me that should have a hole done by the granite company. When we moved the dishwasher there was so much molds underneath it and behind that spreaded. When I called them to let them know they told me that I was suppose to tell them to make a hole as I am the one who knows there job and they are going to charge me $75 to come and do that. I am still waiting after calling many time and last call I explained to them that I could not take care of the molds unless I take care of the vent problem. They told me that the job is small and can't send special crew to do it. they will come when they have no other big job. I will report them to the BBB..The worst business I ever dealt with and very inconsiderate. read more
