We tried what we could to keep him at home. Senior delivery meals were often found half eaten. The turnover with in-home care was so frequent we were never confident or comfortable having so many different people coming and going. He wasn't eating healthy meals, he wasn't staying hydrated, he was at risk for falls, and he was either sleeping or watching TV most of the day. His quality of life was gone. Life has changed for Dad. He is getting regular, "home-cooked" meals; he exercises daily, he participates in activities with other residents and keeps updated on current events. His Suite and the surrounding common areas are well-appointed, but homey. The number of suites is small enough that he knows all of his neighbors and the staff. Activity Director Robin has become a member of the family; Campus Nurse Sarah is attentive to anything that he needs. He remarks regularly on how quickly a staff member arrives when he calls - even if it is just to open the twist off cap off a drink. He has his own Suite decorated just as he likes it; the grounds are beautiful and provide an opportunity for bird watching and gardening. He is truly living in a community and I can't begin to say enough about his new home.

The issue I have is that many of the staff is very rude here, both in person before the COVID-19…read morehit and even now in the way they communicate on the phone but what scares me more than that is their response to the reporting of rude behavior. They seem to find a way to either covertly turn the blame around, make excuses or boast that despite your complaints that basically they are still the best assisted living facility in the area... if they are that is very sad. Their building is fairly nice for the most part from what I can remember and they speak great when you are moving someone in but if only that energy could be somehow put into genuinely consistent customer service and resolving complaints.

Scary! Everything looks good on the surface, but that's where it ends. Only inexperienced staff…read moreworks there or those who are paid much less than your average care nurse. Those who are too good get fired or leave out of frustration due to their frustrations with the inadequate level of care. The manager will say anything to sell you on it. My grandmother was a lovely women before she went in there. Due to the games they played with her health and the lack of respect towards what little she had of possessions and liberty, she became depressed and suspicious. She was there for months before they organized for her to have fresh diapers. Then they didn't bother to keep her clean. They blamed her for it. Her furniture was soaked. She had poo stains on her sheets and hands. She had become too frail to stand and change alone but they neglected even though my grandma was paying highest level of service. I changed it for awhile, complained for weeks she was pissing blood due to bladder infection. I even complained to the manager. She told me with a smile that she loved my grandmother. And, she said she couldn't treat my grandmother for a UTI because grandma would have to go to the hospital to get treated and she couldn't do that. ?? I had to tell every nurse on staff for weeks before finally one of them had a conscience and complained and something was done. Meanwhile, the extra discomfort sent my grandma into a downward spiral, culminating in her death. It was the saddest thing I've ever seen and absolutely lacking in dignity. The man across the hall harassed my grandma and they laughed. He forced his way in her room several times as she was dressing and supposedly climbed on top of her at night. They acted like it was a joke. It's so sad to see how these people use the mask of Christianity to run their corporate death camp. Also, the physical therapist was sending bills to my grandma when my grandma thought she was socializing with the lady. Then when I complained the woman stopped being friendly with her and my grandmother felt bad. It was the most confusing, drama filled, group of petty nurses and staff I've ever come across and I sincerely hope that no one ever sends their loved one here. I haven't even mentioned the black eyes. After the UTI started, my grandmother's balance became terrible and she was complaining of being light headed. She fell over and had numerous black eyes and bruises, and this too was laughed off. It wasn't until months of complaining that anything was done to help. $6000 a month or more and she couldn't get real care. Literally makes my blood boil to think they are still in business, but of course they have full control over keeping all their dirty secrets in house. So, nothing can be done about it. I have photographs of everything I've mentioned here. I documented every single step of the way. So, please don't think I'm not 100% sincere. I won't publish them here out of respect for my grandmother.

My mom has been a resident at RW for 2 years. In July I put Heather on notice that mom would be transitioning to Medicaid sometime around October. We received a 30 day eviction notice on September 3. Coincidence? I think not. Mom has been struggling a little with the onset of dementia and Heather used that as an excuse to evict her. During our time at RW these are the things I have noticed: 1. Missing meds. Seems like every month there were questions about why mom didn't receive her pain meds or her heart meds. 2. The room was frequently filthy. Sticky floors, black mold on the window frames, moldy food in the fridge. We put mom in assisted living to be ASSISTED with the activity of daily living and RW frequently did the bare minimum of care all while charging an outrageous monthly fee. Mom had an accident and bled profusely..the puddle of blood remained on her floor for days until I made a fuss and they finally cleaned it up. 3. The food was not good. Even on family day when they invited the families for a picnic they couldn't manage to serve hot food that was the correct temperature. Cold hamburgers and warm potato salad. I would drop in at dinner time to check on the meal because mom frequently complained about it. I usually found a thin lukewarm soup or other unappetizing meals. Nothing is more heart wrenching than a room full of our elderly picking at their meal because it doesn't taste good. I regret with all my energy moving my mom to this place. We were forced to move her and spend money she did not have to spare and n paying another move in fee to another assisted living facility. At her advanced age and limited cognitive ability, moving her to an unfamiliar place is the height of cruelty. Don't risk your loved one falling victim to this place. Do your research. Ask the director for a list of reasons they could evict up front before giving them a dime. Do not believe their "age in place" line of lies. They are in it for the money and will stop caring the second they have milked you for all you have.
