They then charged me 5 hours labor to replace the driveshaft. There are 8 bolts holding a driveshaft on as with any vehicle. Anyone mechanically inclined would confirm that is ridiculous and extremely excessive.

First they ripped a whole in my new winter tire and had to order a new one to replace it. So this meant I had to cancel all my meetings for the next day since I didn't have my car. When I did get my car back the TPMS light was on. The guys in the shop had no clue about how to turn it off. One of them was googling it in front of me. Even after they 'fixed' it, the light came back on immediately. Then I found out that the stem valve on one of the tires was corroded- a fact that no one called me or told me about- EVEN AFTER PAYING AN EXTRA $25 FOR A TOP TO BOTTOM INSPECTION. Sitting in a Mavis right now to find out, once and for all, what the problem is. This is the 3rd day on a row that I have had to cancel all meetings. Please go to Olean, Hornell or even the Rochester to get car work done. The people at this place take advantage of the fact that they are one of the few car repair plces in the village. So they think they can get away with any kind of lazy, horrendous service.

The wait area is (I assume) still filthy so they loose 2 stars for being worried about your clothes getting stained while waiting for your repairs. Also - and most important reason we stopped going there for service repairs - I don't recommend buying a used car from them. Scott has certificates stating he's a Master Mechanic on the walls, but when you complain of a problem with a car he sold you he suddenly has "no way of knowing about it when he bought it." They also play on "favors" from knowledgeable customers with PC Repair experience and offer an Oil change instead of cold hard cash for immediate attention to 24 hour Virus removal from their work PC! It's pretty much all about the money with this company - either making it off of your repairs, or saving it for their repairs.

I have a 2010 Nissan Rogue that developed a knocking noise which sounded as though it was coming from the rear of the car. My step son and his daughter had just moved back to NY from Alaska and he needed a vehicle to get to and from his new job here so there was some urgency in getting this noise fixed. Anyway, I called Evinghams and spoke to a person named Jake, briefly explained the situation and the noise I was hearing and asked him if he could take a look at it for me and if he thought ir ws safe to drive. His response was, essentially, sure bring it up and we'll get if sorted out and I wouldn't drive it as it sounds like a drive shaft problem. I explained that I had to find someone to follow me to his work shop as I was the only driver in my family to which he replied, no problem and when it is done I can bring the car back to you if you can't get a ride ... The following day I took the car up to him and discovered he was still open at 7:00pm so I gave the keys etc to his mechanic and left - I have two vehicles if anyone is wondering. The following day I got a phone call from Jake telling me the brakes were all rusted and pited from sitting around not being driven (which was true) but would get them done and give me a call when it was ready. The following day, I got the call from Jake telling me it was all done and that he found another problem that needed doing as well along with a very reasonable price. All in all, Evinghams is great in my opinion, honest, reliable, tyrustworthy, fast and from what my step tells me - does very good work as well. I would gladly reccomend Jake and his crew to anyone!
