They have good prices but the last several times I brought my husband's shirts and they never got the stains out Annette specifically asked them can you get the stains out? They should've just not taken the shirts and if they couldn't get the stains out and they kept charging more and more so I'm not gonna come back here anymore read more

My first experience here was when I needed to get a leather jacket with zippers in the sleeves altered. I read a review that said they did good alterations, and so I gave it a try. I was more than pleased. It was a complicated job and they did a fabulous job of it. I've been coming here for dry cleaning as well as alterations for two years now, and I continue to be exceptionally happy. We came to Kensington Cleaners to get my daughter's first prom dress altered. It was a nice dress she found a thrift store (great deal!) and tried to start altering herself. She did an okay job but needed the voluminous skirt hemmed and the sides reinforced. Sung was absolutely wonderful and super encouraging to my daughter for her amateur attempt at modifying the dress. She made it fit perfectly at just the right length. My daughter was thrilled with the result and will feel very confident and happy wearing the dress knowing the sides won't suddenly split open and she won't trip. Sung listened intently, had the professional skills to do the alterations we wanted the way we wanted them done, and went above and beyond to make it right for us. I needed a silk pant hemmed and of course, last minute. I'm talking 48 hours! I took it to a different place and basically got laugh at. I remembered seeing Kensington cleaners near where I take my pets to the vet. I gave them a call and a very nice lady answered. Really nice lady! I stopped by on my way home from an early morning run Saturday morning just to see if they were already open to pick up some of the boyfriend's dry cleaning. The lady was unlocking the door just as I arrived and I asked her what time they opened and she said 9. It was only 8:39am so I was turning to leave intending to return in 20 minutes when she asked me what I needed! She let me pick up the items and she knew exactly what I was picking up just by the name because I didn't have a receipt! Does that happen often with other places? And dry-cleaning and press for work pants are very affordable! Also (feeling the need to add this tiny bit.. probably as a con)... i've dropped off some clothes here for dry-cleaning before and the man was the one manning the counter. He's not very welcoming and can be a bit short with you so some customer service complaints aren't completely incorrect.... but they still get the job done so it doesn't bother me much. read more

Walked in with a pair of pants to be hemmed around 5pm. The guy that worked there acted put out that I had disturbed him. I asked if I could have them shortened. This is how it went: Me: I'd like to have these pants shortened. Him: How much you want them shortened? Me: Well, I don't know, that's why I'm here. I'd like to try them on and have you measure them. Him: I can't do that. Come back later when the lady is here. (This is more of a bark then a comment. Turns, walks away) Me: I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Him: Fine with me. If your entire profession is to run a dry cleaning/alterations business, and you work there, alone, without the seamstress often (or even on occasion), learn how to mark on a pair of pants how short they should be hemmed to. Stupid business move on his part as there are a gazillion dry cleaning/alterations businesses within a mile of his. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Took a whole stack of clothes here to be altered only to receive them back damaged and poorly done. I brought many things here before and had many things done well and also other things done very poorly. I was disappointed when I brought my damaged items back and she only gave me about a quarter of the money back that I spent on these terrible alterations. Not to mention one of the items she supposedly altered was actually not even altered but she charged me the full price for it. Many of the tags were removed from my clothing items and not sewn back in. Do not recommend it will never be coming back. read more

To person who gave a one star: It's not cool to give a business a one star that you didn't patronize. I'm sorry the guy was rude to you, but really is that reason enough to try to wreck his business with a one star? I have to wonder if some Yelpers forget that there are human beings running these businesses with employees and kids and everything else. It seems to me that a one star business should be a place you've actually gone to, maybe more than once, and had major problems with -- as opposed to someone being rude and then running to Yelp to complain. Are you always in a good mood at work? How would you feel if you got a terrible evaluation at work because you were in a crabby mood with one, random person? Most of the dry cleaners are owned and run by people from Korea. They can be a bit sharper than native born Americans. But multiculturalism is about accepting that people from other countries bring different personalities and values than native born Americans. I have actually been to Kensington Cleaners, not just once but many times, for cleaning and alterations. They have been fine every time. I am not related to them and have no vested interest in their business. I just don't like Yelpers cavalierly trying to destroy people's businesses -- particularly ones that they didn't even patronize. By the way, the woman who does the tailoring (the man at the desk's sister) works in the morning. So bring your tailoring in then. read more

Quick turnaround time and great results. I took my overcoat to Kensington Cleaners because it had a bad smell after lending it to a friend. It's the first time I've used this dry cleaner, and I'm happy with the results. I picked the coat up after a few days and the smell was completely gone! I took a mohair throw to be cleaned & 2 pairs of ladies dress slacks to be pressed only. When I went to retrieve them I was furious to be told my bill was $42.00! I couldn't believe that the price could be correct. When I remarked on the extremely high price, the clerk said "I only work here". If I had a complaint, I should see the owner. When I said the throw was not a blanket, he told me the prices were posted on the wall, pointing to a regular typed paper on the wall at about the 7.5 foot height. When I protested that no one could possibly read that, he just shrugged his shoulders.The prices were not written on my tag either, so I had no idea that their charges were so ridiculously high! Consistently excellent alterations and dry cleaning. We have been regulars for years and we trust this brother and sister team to do professional work. I recently splurged and had a pair of wool pants resurrected with new lining. Beautiful job! So glad to have this business in our neighborhood. But before I lived in Kensington, I drove across town to use Kensington Cleaners because I am chemically sensitive and the cleaning process which they use seems less toxic than most.
