Great food and drinks! Friendly staff! A beautiful outdoor area! I mean, what more could you want!? I've always enjoyed myself when I stop by with friends for a few drinks and some food.

Last night I went here to get some St. Patty's Day grub. The place was decorated for the spirit of the Irish holiday with even there being Irish music playing. Server/bartender was friendly and she had some really cool noticeable tattoos.

I feel dumb after knowing this establishment has been open for so long, living in the area, and never trying it. I thought there was a sign outside with their name on it, but there's nothing there so if you aren't looking for it you will pass right by it. It almost feels like an underground bar because when you first enter it looks like a typical corner bar. The staff was very pleasant and asked if we been there before after we looked lost after they told us to sit where we want. We were asked if we wanted to sit in or outside. We went outside the main bar to an air conditioned side area the through doors to the yard. You would never know this beautiful space was there unless you go back there. There's a separate bar, tons of seats, big screen TVs, and games. For food, we got a personal hot Italian sausage red pizza, a large plain red pie, and hot honey wings. Everything was delicious. If you are a fan of Santucci's (philomela's that is, not the other side of that family) you will love this pizza. I'd say due to the crispy crust this pizza has the edge over santuccis. The sauce tastes fresh and is very cheese. Can't wait to try the other pies. The wings were also very delicious. The sauce was almost like a glaze, not too dry and not soaking wet. You could taste the sweet heat in each bite. The size of the wings were also on point (given the current climate with chicken it's hit or miss with wings these days). I can't wait to go back and hope becoming a loyal customer will scratch the surface at making up for my ignorance in never trying this awesome establishment

Great spot for some drinking and casual dining. Big space in the back. They have a band every now and then and it's cool. Not too loud.

Service staff friendly. Food was good. A woman who stated to be owners wife was rude. Not the 1st time she's been rude to myself or friends.

The parking lot and the…read moreinterior were huge, but I came at opening on a weekday, so it looked a lot more empty inside than it was. Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

The first thing I did was head straight for my favorite, Cantillon from Belgium. This visit, I tried their Kriek LG, a fruited lambic made by adding sour cherries to a two-year-old aged lambic. All I can say is... WOW! Tart, complex, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. If beer could win an Academy Award, this one would be giving an acceptance speech. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Thai Curry Mussels, and they were absolutely outstanding. The broth was packed with flavor, and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They easily rank in the top five mussel dishes I've ever had, and I've done my research! Pro tip: Don't make the rookie mistake of eating all the bread first. Save some for the end so you can soak up every last drop of that incredible curry broth at the bottom of the bowl. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The service is always excellent. John usually takes care of us in the back, and he consistently makes the experience even better with great recommendations and friendly service. In side is cozy and friendly! If you live in Philly and haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? Great beer, amazing food, and outstanding service--this place checks every box. Just be warned: one visit and you'll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

Since the bar seats were full, we had the choice to head all the way to the 2nd rear bar. We took the short journey to the secluded small bar that was also full and took refuge at one of the four tables. We took a look at the "Beer Bible" or their version of a drink menu. The bartender informed us that we could not sit at the table unless we were ordering food. At this point we ended our pub crawl and left defeated scratching our heads. This was far from a classy place without a line out the door during the week which made it even more alarming. Interesting experience as our last taste of Philly.

This way it was easy for our group to talk. I saw someone else drinking a drink that looked really good so I just ordered that without looking at the menu. It was in a champagne glass and had an orange peel in it. This drink was delish and I would order it again. I ordered the caesar w salmon. The salad itself was fine but the dressing didn't taste at all like caesar dressing. I still ate the whole thing - but just didn't love the dressing. Reviewers rated Moriarty's short ribs highly, and though I hesitated to order risotto take out, I want for it. Sorry, no pics but trust ne when I say it was delish! The portions were great (there were a few spears of asparagus) and the lukewarm risotto (expected considering it was delivered) was creamy and flavorful. There was a but more oil than I would have liked floating at the bottom, and the sauce was a bit salty, but not so much that I couldn't enjoy the super tender morsels of beef. I look forward to trying something else on the menu soon.
