This was a pretty fun pub. I came with a few friends for a drink before catching a show at Schimanski and we had a good time. I can't recall the name of the bartender but he was awesome! Very friendly from the get and attentive as well. We got 2 rounds of Delirium Tremens which I believe were priced at $12. We also had the four cheese grilled cheese which was delicious. It was hard to choose because everything on the food menu sounded very appetizing! Overall it seems like the perfect spot to spend a Friday or Saturday night. I was with the regular film camera crowd and we had been out on a stroll in the area, when all of a sudden we were hit with a hankering for a brew and maybe a bit of chow. Luckily, at the corner we came across this place! We stepped inside and found cozy seats at a table by the window. A couple of us went to the bar directly where we were attended by Sergei the friendly bartender. As a bonus, Sergei speaks Russian so we had a brief and pleasant Russian conversation! The brews were tasty and the food was very nicely prepared. The interior is well kept, with clean restrooms and well-bussed tables. It is a busy place and many of the locals seem to enjoy it, so they are definitely doing something right here. I will certainly stop by again the next time I am in the area. read more

Kent Ale House is a fun pub to hang out at. It has plenty of tvs throughout the pub, so you'll be within eyesight of the game no matter where you sit. There are a bunch of board games such as connect four, battle ship, sorry, and clue. Their beer selection has about two dozen options with most (if not all) of them being craft beers. Great bar. My friends and I were looking for a chill place to hang out and afternoon-drink after the close of Smorgasburg, and we found it on our first try. Kent's open-air, by-the-docks feel was just what the doctor ordered. It's a neighborhood sports bar with a beer list exuding Brooklyn pride (at least half a dozen brews from Brooklyn Brewery, including rare and limited release stuff like Silver Anniversary and Radius). An Irish girl, accent and all, was behind the bar, lending the place some street cred. The beers were almost exclusively seasonal--kolsches, weizens, and summer ales--a decision that I admire because, let's face it, there's plenty of time to drink heavy IPAs, porters, and stouts the rest of the year. Later in the evening the place starting filling up, and I wouldn't be surprised if it has a strong following locally. read more

Truly feels like an European bar, many accents, extremely relaxed service to the point where my table was left unserved for long periods of time. The place was fairly empty for a Saturday night, even with a stand up comedy show going on in a spare room to the side. Although the bar was not packed everyone was very happy, there's was not the "lonely sad bar" feeling at all. This is a super solid spot! First off, it has a great view of the city from its big windows in the front and has a ton of outdoor seating for when it's warmer out! The views combined with a dive bar-ish vibe is right up my alley. They have a pretty great beer selection as well, at least 20+ beers on tap and *bonus* Delirium Tremens. Their food menu was pretty extensive as well, not the best food you'll ever have but definitely excellent bar food. We ordered the pretzel, cheesy tater tots, and some burgers and sandwiches. I really want to try their philly cheesesteak spring rolls the next time I'm there. Our bartender was so nice too and really made all of the guests super comfortable. There was also a March Madness game on (Michigan State vs Duke) while we we there and all of the patrons were super invested in the game, but not d**ks about it. This place doesn't attract a mean sports crowd. My father was with us and we have family in Michigan and even met someone else from East Lansing! Such a friendly and fun environment. I'll definitely be back to watch some more sports on TV when I feel compelled to do so next or most likely to sit outside with a Tremens and soak in the views. read more

He tasted us on several options and gave recommendations, leaving everyone extremely satisfied with their choices. Rotating handles with great local options and typical go-tos in between. I went with Delirium because I like a classic high alcohol, hotdog water smell beer and this fits the bill perfectly. My friend got a cookie stout, which was phenomenal (we all insisted on trying) and couldn't thank the bartender enough for this recommendation. We ran in here to escape from the rain. It was great! Lots of seating options, open windows, lots of light. This sports bar has a much better ambiance than other sports bars. There are plenty of yummy beers to choose from. Our wonderful bartender was very friendly, personable and attentive. She was refilling my annoying soda water with cranberry without me asking for it. Great spot, had a great beer selection and the food was incredible. We went for play off football with 5 people. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was someone kept coming up to us asking when we were done so they can fill the table for the next game. Once we were getting up the bus boy came and started busing the table before I could even get up once I did he reached across me 3x stepped on me a couple times. Can't say it is the best place ever but the outdoor seating is really nice. It is really a hybrid bar with three separate areas where you can chill and get your drink on. The main part when you walk in is typical sports bar with tv screens all over, next there Is a smaller room for private meetings or functions, sort of like VIP area or just perfect for a birthday or UYE . Lastly there is a small outdoor let's say small room to just chill, drink, eat your food and act silly outside. Service was great here especially considering how busy it was the day I was here for North side Festival. I passed by again this past weekend and everyone out look like they enjoying just being outside in the sun. Great little pub right down the street from Brooklyn Brewery. Since you have to sign up for the tour an hour in advance anyway, this place is great for grabbing a quick bit and a cold beer. My boyfriend and I have gotten the fried pickles with a creamy mayo aioli and the four cheese grilled cheese with truffle fries twice now. It never disappoints! With cozy, cushioned high top tables and a friendly staff, you can enjoy the chill atmosphere that embodies what Brooklyn is all about. This place has great potential. They've only been open for a couple months and the staff are quick and friendly. They have some tasty cocktails that the bartenders came up with on their own and a pretty good beer selection.
