Absolutely go! Don't be alarmed by the fishy smell. They are fresh, sweet and well seasoned crabs. They were patient with my calls as I was shopping around for the best cost and availability along my way home from DC to Philly. They open late and can have your crabs ready in 15-20 minutes. $61 for a dz medium males is like $5 crab nights in Philly size. Especially later in the year. They are now my second fav crab spot in MD. read more

Yummy to my tummy! When I moved to this county, this was the first place I went to get a bushel of crabs. Fast forward to this past Labor Day, and my family and I picked up a few dozen males to celebrate. We asked for them to season them well and boy did they! Sweet on the inside, nicely seasoned and hot. We enjoyed our feast! I wish they had hush puppies or a few other sides but for some good ol' Maryland crabs, we prefer this place. We'll be back next year when crab season starts again! read more

We love to order from Kent island. They have pre made Maryland crab soup and cream of crab soup. We buy both and mix them together. They have crab pretzels in the freezer which are great for a snack later. Their crab meat is good with lots of chives from back fin to jumbo lump. They offer steamed corn in summer which makes it easy. They steam crabs pretty good we like the flavor. Service is good and ambiance is not an issue since it order to go! We have ordered their oysters and they're very fresh! read more

This is my husband's local, go to crab spot. They are take out only. We called today to check their stock and prices on crabs. The guy was super informative on the phone and we ended up placing an order for pickup as soon as possible. They also allow you to order for a future pick up time if desired. We ordered two dozen medium crabs and a dozen shrimp. Pick up was estimated at 25 minutes and the order was ready when they quoted. The prices aren't bad and I definitely recommend this spot for seafood. read more

I did not feel like sitting in traffic on 50-E to go to Annapolis or Kent Island for crabs. I looked around or other alternatives and this place popped up. The reviews online were favorable. I rolled the dice amd took a drive. Well worth the risk. The price per lb was far better than anything I had seen close to home. I bought crab soup and crabs. The staff was great. Crabs were very clean and seaoned well. The soup is everything you would expect from a Maryland crab soup. For less than a 40 minute ride from MoCo and the amount of crab received for the price, I could make this trip often. Bon Apetit. read more

This was my first time ordering from this place. I stopped In and was greeted right upon entering the place. I ordered steamed shrimp and fresh corn that was cooked to order. I had to wait about ten minutes or so for everything to be ready. The process was pretty simple and the prices were reasonable with daily specials. Got extra large crabs they were big heavy and very well seasoned. My order is always ready and always hot. They have the best crabmeat around.. and they always offer to pack it in ice for you. Along with perfectly steamed shrimp. This place is out of my way, but I would rather make the drive to get great food and friendly service. Thank you for NEVER disappointing. read more

Outstanding customer service! Went here a few days ago with my GF to get some crabs, crab legs, and clams. Staff was attentive, walked us thru options, and had our order ready in under the time promised. Food was excellent and seasoned well! The blue crabs were heavy and flavourful! Best steamed crabs I've had in many years. We have lived in the area for 9 summers and never gotten crabs to eat at home. So I was going blind off the yelp reviews of this place - so so so happy I did. The crabs were perfectly seasoned and heavy with meat. We got a mix of larges and mediums and it didn't even matter, every crab was worth the energy to pick. Highly recommend. read more

After being in pursuit of lump crab and fresh medium shrimp (WalMart, Food Lion, Weis...) I decided to yelp a seafood market and ran across this place. Initially I drove past it because of its size and close proximity to the corner/intersection it was very easy to pass up. I was the only customer at the time and upon entrance the male and younger female were very welcoming and helpful. We small talked about the holidays and this being my first visit which led to the male (possibly owner?) telling me about the business and how this may be the first time I will visit where there is no line.... he went on to talk about the freshness of the seafood, the local Maryland crabs, the fish from Texas and other information about where the seafood originated from. He recommended calling in orders on game days, holidays or if something special is needed to call and the may be able to fulfill the order by getting whats requested. There is a variety of options ready and available in the market both fresh, frozen and deveined shrimp of various sizes. Salmon, lobster, crawfish (when in season), alligator and more is also available. Will definitely try cooked/prepared lobster, alligator or crab in the near future to possibly update this review to 5 star. read more

I didn't think to post my crabs this weekend. I had 1 Doz of Male Med and 1 Doz Male Small and they were both filling and tasteful. Every so often I am in Glen Burnie to visit my family I stop by to get some crabs and each time they are DELICIOUS. The customer service always welcoming and professional. I would recommend Kent Island Carb Company to anyone in the Glen Burnie/Pasadena area to support this business. read more

Had my heart set on some fresh crabs but that didn't happen!!! They we're old, tasteless, lukewarm , and clawless,out of all the crabs only 2 had claw's attached, a few was at the bottom but l threw them out with the crabs that we're dead on arrival. Never mind, l did see claws for sale per lb so l guess this is their way of making ends meet. In the meantime l will go back to Always Best where they're fresh, flavorful and HOT!!! read more

This is the absolute best place in MD for carry out crabs. Absolutely delicious and so much cheaper than other crab huts. Smalls? Yeah right. The smalls here are so full and would be considered medium to large in other places (I had one tonight that was HUGE and HEAVY!). The other seafood is great too! Steamers, oysters, shrimp, you name it. There are only 2 reasons this place did not get 6 stars: A) the cream of crab had potato in it (weird, but still good) B) Yelp only allows 5 Been coming here for years and will continue to do so. I love these guys! You will always find a friendly staff and impeccable seafood! The last crabs we had (Large males in August) were HEAVY and perfectly seasoned! Every time I come back to MD to visit my family I make sure I stop by and order crabs from them. Support local and see what makes this place different! I've tried many crab places in Pasadena, including the "big guys" at Arundel Seafood and I have to say that solely based on the customer service I will choose Kent Island time and time again! Fantastic crabs in the middle of winter! Now that says something for how fantastic they ought to be in the regular season. When our usual place was closed on Valentine's Day we sought out Kent Island for steamed crabs. Fully expecting small underweight crabs due to the time of the year we were extremely surprised at the high-quality reasonably priced crabs we received! The service was excellent ... Tried Kent Island crabs on a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed. We got a dozen Large males and 2 dozen spicy crawfish. The crabs were actually larges; all of them. No paper shells, no BS smediums. Only gripe would be to request more seasoning on crabs next time but that's more of a personal choice. Will be back for sure. read more

I use to say Kent island had the best crabs around. They were always fresh and hot. Steamed to perfection that is until this past summer up til now. It seems to me the crabs are presteamed and then reheated. Whatever it is, something has changed and it's not for the better. I don't think I'm going to spend my money there anymore. We got crabs tonight and they were terrible. Most of my guest said they tasted fishy and I'm positive not so fresh. They were also heavily seasoned. It's a shame because I usually buy there crabs a few times a week in the summer. I keep telling myself it's just an off day but the truth is it's become the norm. read more

What a treat! Just had some of the most amazing medium male crabs I've ever tasted. They were perfectly cooked--steamed just right so the shells were easy to crack, but the meat stayed incredibly tender and juicy. The flavor was out of this world. Each crab was packed with sweet, succulent meat, and they had that rich, briny taste that lets you know they're fresh. The seasoning was spot-on, a perfect blend of Old Bay that enhanced the natural sweetness without overpowering it. It's clear a lot of care went into preparing them. They are very customer service oriented and have the best Seasoned Crabs around. Their crabs are usually a little bigger by label then the surrounding competition and comparably priced. They have an assortment of seafood but their crabs are by far the best thing to come out the door. read more

No matter the season, Kent Island Seafood has ALWAYS had heavy crabs at great prices. We probably have been getting steamed crabs at least once a month for the last four years. I have never been disappointed. read more

I love Kent Island crabs. They are the first place I call when I want some crabs. There crabs are alway great. I would recommend them to anyone that wants some great crabs read more

I made calls to a couple places near Annapolis listed on the state Department of Agriculture's seafood Web site and was fortunate to find Maryland Crab & Oyster. It's off the beaten path on a farm just south of Edgewater, but well worth a visit for the price, quality and service. The guy running it, Warren, gets his product from Crisfield on the Eastern Shore. He was very generous in packing as many crabs as he could into the bushel basket, and brought me back to the storage shed while he sorted them out. It was only $150 for a bushel of No. 1s -- about $50 less than what some of the markets were charging. It kept our crowd of about 30 people happy and well-fed with enough left over to make crab cakes for 10 the next day. He can steam them for you, too, and there are even a few tables in the yard, so he was letting a few customers have a crab feast right there.

We ended up waiting about 15 minutes or so but they were nice enough to give us two extra crabs (I'm assuming because of the slight wait or maybe it was just a lucky mistake!). This is more of a takeout spot so don't expect a restaurant-style crab house. The crabs were a good mix of medium and large with the large ones being very dense. Flavor was good and seasoning was solid. I've noticed that Kent Island does their crab seasoning a little differently than Baltimore with the seasoning here being more dry and some of the crabs I grew up with in Bmore having more of a thick, wet seasoning. Regardless of what you prefer, the quality of the crabs was good and I'd recommend them if you're in the area!

So I called one day recently and ordered a dozen steamed medium males for $39, along with some corn. It should be noted that I don't remember the place being such a dump. It really looks decrepit; I wonder how they even pass inspection? Anyway, I was looking back fondly on my past experience, and just ignored that detail... The staff was very nice, and my order was ready on time as promised. The bag of crabs (and corn) seemed heavy enough. But when I got home and dug into them, I was disappointed! Here are my takeaways. - At least half of the crabs were light as a feather, with mostly water and little meat, so I guess those crabs had recently molted. - Only a few crabs had both of their mature claws. The rest had either one normal and one small claw, or one claw was missing entirely. That's a sign of poor handling and/or poor selection. - There was so little meat that they seemed to be smalls rather than mediums. Only four of the twelve were actually heavy and what I would consider to be medium crabs. - Many claws when cracked squirted out water, and the meat was miniscule relative to the shell size. This is August, so I was expecting much heavier crabs. I wish Maryland would require watermen to *weigh* their crabs as well as *measure* them from point to point. Throw back the lightweight ones in order to let them fatten up. So all in all, not a great experience. I won't be going back. (The corn was good, though.)

Really hoping to like this place as closed to our house but we will never go back again.
