As a first timer to this restaurant, my first thing to note is that the staff were super helpful in helping me navigate their restaurant. There is a two part type of deal, right in the front with all the seafood you can order fresh seafood steamed to order. Around the corner they sell various hot foods and sides as well as a couple of desserts. I tried menu items from both sides as I was curious about their cold side items. The fresh seafood is priced very reasonably and everything is super fresh, you can tell. They have a self serve station with condiments and all sorts of things you can add. I would recommend making your "sauce" before you get all your food for the smoothest eating process. They also offer a couple of alcoholic beverages and coke products. There is indoor seating that is bench style. I really enjoyed the Maryland decorations around. Overall this is a great place to take any seafood lover and I definitely recommend trying out both food sections. I visited Anne Arundel's Seafood while visiting Maryland from Atlanta, Ga. for a funeral. This has to be one of the most racist establishments I ever visited. After spending $65 on lunch, I spoke to the manager concerning the crab cake which was overcooked and not to my satisfaction. The manager stated he wouldn't replace the crab cake nor offer a refund. The customer service experience is deplorable, unsatisfactory and unacceptable. Apparently, you can place your order anywhere , pay, get a ticket and go to collect your order when ready. There was 1 area that was dedicated to fresh seafood, like a deli where you can view and choose. We chose the fish subs, which we learned all fried fish was haddock, and it was a good. I really enjoy dining here for fresh seafood, especially when the weather is good. I almost always order the fish and chips and cream of crab soup and my wife the steamed mussels and corn. The cream of crab is usuallly good, although sometimes inconsistent. During our last trip it was almost inedible as it was too think and had clumps of food starch in it. The corn was meh...My wife's mussels were so soggy that she only ate a few and returned them to staff, we didn't ask for a refund...just left. Not sure what is going on, just an off day, maybe training new staff? I'll return soon and report back. read more

We dined in, and while I understand they're steaming seafood nonstop, the dining area was noticeably warm and could've used better ventilation. That said, the crabs were generously portioned--only one was on the lighter side, and they even threw in an extra to make up for it, which I appreciated. Came here to pick crabs for lunch on a Sunday. Certainly a no frills place in terms of ambiance, which is exactly what I want when I am elbow deep in old bay and melted butter. They've got 2 counters- one where you get shrimp raw or steamed to order in a variety of sizes, beer, oysters, etc. and the other around the corner is where you order crabs. We ordered a dozen large males ($90 in July '23) and half a pound of shrimp as an appetizer. It took about 30-40 min for the crabs to come out but well worth the wait because they were awesome. The first couple crabs were so hot we had to wait a minute after opening the shell to continue. I appreciated that they supply you with a sturdy plastic knife in addition to the classic mallets to help open your crabs. Condiments (horseradish, cocktail sauce, extra old bay) are on the side table if you need it. They have a couple tvs in the seating area, which were set to the O's game so I was in orange colored paradise. read more

The food is good (except for too much filler in the crab cake) but the intercom volume is so loud! We couldn't enjoy talking to our family. We asked them to turn it down and the grumpy old guy behind the counter said no. It ruined the experience of going out for dinner-- and although this isn't fine dining by any stretch, it wasn't inexpensive either. There was one nice lady behind the steamed counter. I haven't visited since I was a kid, but I remember liking it and my friends like it. The experience was disappointing overall. I called in for carry out at 7:05pm. I got placed on a brief hold to see if the grills had been turned off or not. I'm assuming that was his way of saying he would find out if he was going to take my order or not an hour before they close. I was allowed to place a carry out order and it was ready when I arrived. The crabcake sandwich only comes fried and is served on two pieces of untoasted white bread. if you want tartar sauce, you'll be handed a small Ken's prepackaged tartar sauce. This is unacceptable for a Maryland seafood only establishment to not make their own tartar sauce. Not toasting the bread or serving the sandwich on a roll is wild. The crabcake sandwich had good flavor but also had a lot of filler. We wanted more lumps. The mixed seafood sub was very good but ordering it was confusing as to what came on the sub. The scallop dinner with two sides was very good; again only fried. hush puppies were ordered, but no butter was provided. Cream of crab soup looked like wallpaper paste and had an OK fair flavor. It was not very good. I have yet to try the Maryland crab soup and I'm hoping it is better. For a staple in the community I expected more. Will try again but sparingly. read more

We now live in Florida after growing up in AA county and living there for 40 years. This is a go-to for anytime we visit Maryland. The soft crabs are The BEST as far as the wife is concerned. I love the crab cakes and shrimp salad. I'm not a crab cake expert but theirs are like eating steamed crabs on a sandwich - excellent. Place used to be very good about 10 years ago. Can no longer say the same. Went lastnight with a big group of family, and ordered a shit ton of food, nothing crazy, just crabcakes, crabs and crawfish. We had to keep reminding them that we had been waiting on our crawfish for an hour and a half. When we approached to complain that it, we were told "they didnt put them in yet". After another 30 minutes of waiting, we approached again and were waved off by the boys behind the seafood counters. The crawfish were preordered for a member of the party coming later so they were ordered promptly as to come out when the person had arrived. After almost 2 hours of waiting on crawfish, I had to approach the boys behind the seafood counter and practically yell at them stating that once my blood sugar hits 55, I will be on the floor passed out and it will be their fault for not providing a meal to a person with blood sugar regulatory issues. After all of this happened, I stayed and waited at the counter as to not be forgotten about, for the 5th time. Another guy asked me what I was waiting for, I took a deep breath and said "my crawfish that Ive been waiting almost 2 hours for". I was then mocked by the kid. After waiting all that time, my crawfish finally came out and guess what, completely dry, overcooked and a waste of time, money and energy. Despite alleged garlic butter, the seafood was bland and really not memorable. Seems like they forgot about COVID the way that the cups and old bay seasonings are self serve with a common utensil? Husband and I went in last night. A dozen oysters on the half shell were excellent, but things went downhill from there. We shared a pound of steamed shrimp. They were not cheap.... $17 or $18. They were bland and a few were closer to raw than cooked. We also shared the 3 pound special of steamed mussels...garlic and butter. Their version was plain steamed and sprinkled with a bit of garlic powder ON THE SHELLS and some dipping butter. A number of them were very gritty as well. We ended up asking for some extra of the sad garlic powder to mix with the dipping butter, which helped a little. We will def go back for oysters, but will leave it at that. read more

What an amazing find. I've been searching for homes in this area for a few months and I must have passed this restaurant 45 times. It is very unassuming. I went to an open house one Sunday and the realtor recommended this seafood spot. I have seen the light. The fresh seafood area is very well fun and the fried and cooked seafood area is even better. If you find yourself in Pasadena please do yourself a favor and stop by for some of the freshest seafood. There is ample seating and TVs for sports. The shrimp hoagie was epic and filling. I didn't think it would be that fulfilling, but to my surprise it was just what I needed on a Sunday afternoon. The next time I go I will definitely try some fresh seafood and crabs. read more

Went there on Mother's Day to get carbs for carry-out. After entering the restaurant I stood in line to order crabs to only find out I was on the wrong side of the building. I did end up ordering crabs to take out and they were good. My only complaint was when I was on the wrong side of the building and standing in line a lady from behind the counter waited on the white couple behind me instead of taking my order or acknowledging me. Visited with some family and honestly I have nothing bad to say. Came by on a weekend and it was not even crowded which is how I like. I love how each section has its own order station. The raw/seafood section is where you can get things like oysters, steamed shrimp, scallops, fish etc. The crabs and hot food is ordered at another counter around the corner in carryout section. I had the crab fluff and cucumber salad. Both were delicious. I prefer cocktail sauce with my crabcakes and things like fluff. I tried it on there and it was love at first bite. Crab fluff is like a crab cake fried in pancake batter. Very good. Tried the steamed fish, fried scallops, steamed shrimp and had a few raw oysters which were big and fresh, served with horseradish and cocktail sauce. We also had a pitcher of beer which I believe was abt 11.95. You can't beat the prices! There were tvs on and music playing but not too loud, just right. Bathroom was clean and so was seating area. We often saw workers come over and spray tables in between those dining and leaving. Great local seafood place! They have a fried seafood side and a steamed seafood side. After walking back and forth between the sides and contemplating what I wanted, I decided to get 1lb of steamed snow crab legs and 1lb of shrimp. Both were seasoned with old bay. Then I went to the other side and ordered hush puppies. Both took about 10-15 minutes. They call your number over the loud speaker and then you go pick up your food. You sit at picnic tables. They have an area to grab brown construction paper to eat over and other condiments, tools, and utensils. I got extra old bay. The shrimp and snow crab legs came with a large cup of butter, which was perfect. Everything came out great! The service was great and the food was amazing. Everyone around had food that also looked amazing! When you are done, you just clean up your area and throw it away in a nearby trash can. It was a fun laid back experience! Can't wait to go back! You have to order crabs and food on one side and corn and other seafood on the other. It was confusing anf going back and forth to get food and then corn.
