A hop, skip, jump away from array of options, Anne Arundel Seafood muscles its way against competitors in and around the area. You can dine in and/or take out. Options of everything steamed, broiled, and fried are abundant in their menu, but note subject to availability. Daily offers of fresh fish, shellfish, and local produce with fresh homeade salads and desserts! There is ample parking. Inquire about their party platters for catering too. Check their daily specials, local fishermen's catch, and all season availability.

Huge and delicious portions. Hometown ambiance. Friendly neighborhood service. Highly recommended.

Amazing, Food was great and so was service, We didn't even have to pay! The menu had so many options and it was hard to pick because everything looks so good! Crab cakes were amazing and the drink options were huge. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Came here to pick crabs for lunch on a Sunday. Certainly a no frills place in terms of ambiance, which is exactly what I want when I am elbow deep in old bay and melted butter. They've got 2 counters- one where you get shrimp raw or steamed to order in a variety of sizes, beer, oysters, etc. and the other around the corner is where you order crabs. We ordered a dozen large males ($90 in July '23) and half a pound of shrimp as an appetizer. It took about 30-40 min for the crabs to come out but well worth the wait because they were awesome. The first couple crabs were so hot we had to wait a minute after opening the shell to continue. I appreciated that they supply you with a sturdy plastic knife in addition to the classic mallets to help open your crabs. Condiments (horseradish, cocktail sauce, extra old bay) are on the side table if you need it. They have a couple tvs in the seating area, which were set to the O's game so I was in orange colored paradise.

If you walked in blind, you honestly wouldn't even guess they specialize in seafood -- that's how clean and fresh the environment felt. Major points for that alone. Now let's get into the food. I started with the cream of crab soup. The portion was solid and there were huge chunks of crab throughout, which I definitely appreciated. However, the base itself just wasn't to my liking. The crab was there, but the flavor profile didn't quite hit for me. For my entrée, I ordered the oyster platter with two sides -- regular fries and coleslaw -- and added a shrimp basket because when you're at a seafood spot, you might as well go all in. The meal definitely satisfied my hunger, but if I'm being honest, it tasted more boxed and frozen than freshly battered. That homemade, crispy, just-dropped-in-the-fryer feel wasn't quite there. On the bright side, the fries were good -- hot, crisp, and dependable. The coleslaw was exactly how I like it: balanced, not too sweet, not too heavy on the mayo. Where they truly shine is customer service. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and very helpful throughout the visit. Service can make or break a dining experience, and they definitely delivered on that front. Overall, while this visit didn't completely wow me food-wise, the cleanliness and service alone are enough for me to give them another shot. I'll be back to try something different and will happily update my review. Stay tuned.

The crabs were fresh, meaty, and good quality. They were unfortunately out of the small and medium sizes when we visited, so we ended up getting large crabs instead, which were very good. While we would have liked a few more size options available, the overall experience was still very enjoyable thanks to the great food, beautiful setting, and outstanding service. We'd definitely come back.

I typically eat crabs once or twice in the summer and mostly towards the end after chartering and catching them myself that I want to support my friend's craving for all you can eat crabs. I will say that a lot of the crabs they brought up were very light and we were picking through them quickly. The sizes range from mostly medium to a few large. They do not offer other sides along with the AYCE crabs so I also ordered their cheese steak egg rolls. They were huge! It's good textures with crispy outside wrapper and inside cheesy & meaty, however not a lot of flavor. We arrived after happy hour so wasn't able to take advantage of that pricing so the $8.75 crushes felt like a good deal. I possibly would go back for happy hour however I wouldn't go back for the ace crabs. I also would go back for the view and I think this is what draws a lot of people in. It's always good to be on the water chilling, eating, and sipping

We were seated immediately once we checked in. The brunch buffet was on its last leg ( we arrived at 12:30) so we opted to just order off the regular menu. The menu has a lot of great choices. We started with the rockfish tenders and the brodkin egg rolls, both were delicious. I was especially fond of the rockfish tenders, they were seasoned and fried perfectly. I ordered a side salad, it was huge. I ended up boxing because I would not have been able to try my main dish if I had eaten that salad. For our main entrees we went with the Shrimp Scampi and the Blackend Chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo was just the way I like it, creamy not oily (oily does not reheat well). My mother said the scampi could use some cheese. The portions sizes were on point and the prices are very reasonable. The only issue I had was with our service. There was a big confusion on who was supposed to be waiting on the table. Once that was settled it just took forever for the server to comeback. I had to get up a few times to get my own stuff; plates and silverware. It was busy so I'm going to give the service the benefit of the doubt. I made reservations to try the brunch buffet later so we'll see if there is any difference on a non holiday. Rumor Reel is a huge place with plenty of space for large parties. They have an outside deck/patio that overlooks the creek. Plenty of seating outside. There is a stage so I assume they have live entertainment. The parking lot is a gravel pit, it is big but it almost doesn't seem big enough for the amount of people that come here. Great place. Checkout and form your own opinion .

Let me start by saying the customer service was GREAT! My server, McKenzie, was extremely friendly, well-mannered, and attentive. She checked on me often and did her best to address my concerns when I expressed my disappointment with some of the food. Unfortunately, the food itself was a different story. I was not a fan of the steamed mini oysters, and I was extremely disappointed with my Seafood Boil. The boil was very bland and lacked the flavor I was expecting. The extra sauce, and seasoning didn't help it. After speaking with the manager, he explained that they don't cook the seafood with seasoning. That definitely helped me understand why my boil tasted so bland to me. Unfortunately, Hook & Reel just isn't for me. I appreciate the manager offering me a 50% discount on the boil, especially since I left more than half of it behind. Personally, I felt the boil should have been removed completely from the bill, but I'm still thankful for the accommodation he did make. Final thoughts: Great service from McKenzie, but unfortunately the food didn't meet my expectations. Everybody's taste buds are different, so this is simply MY personal experience and opinion. ‍ #MekeReview #FoodReview #HookAndReel #SeafoodBoil #GlenBurnieMD #AberdeenMD #SeafoodLovers #DMVFoodie
