Nice and clean open space. The restaurant is casual but still well decorated. You can instantly smell the food, overwhelmingly for some reason like fresh baked bread and fry oil (in a pleasant way think crispy goodies). Our greeting was very friendly. They have a specials board up. A few of today's items included tempura shrimp, crab and cream cheese wontons, chicken dumplings, curry and other entrees. They are open 11-9 and closed on Mondays. Prices are great (typically under $10.00). No standing on ceremony. You can seat yourself and the woman (I believe one of the owners) was sweet and charming. Today we ordered the Pho, Wonton Soup and a Bahn Mi. Unfortunately they do not offer the traditional pate found on Bahn Mi which is my favorite part. However, it was absolutely delicious. The bread is perfect for this sandwich and the pork was salty, tender and mouthwatering. 9/10 The Wonton Soup had pork, shrimp, bok choy, onions, and other goodies. Both of the soups arrived nice and hot. The Wonton soup was so gentle and comforting. The veggies were very fresh, the thin strips of pork fantastic and the wontons perfect. This was my favorite dish and I'm going to say one of the best soups I have eaten period. 10/10 As Beef Pho goes, this one was certainly a contender. Definitely on the savory side of Pho with good anise presence. 8/10 Short of a freak accident resulting in my untimely demise, nothing will stop me from coming back as soon as possible to explore this perfectly sized menu. My son wanted Pho for his birthday, and since this place is so close to home we decided to give it a try. We have had their tofu bahn mi and tofu salad rolls before so I knew they were good. I wasn't sure if they had a vegetarian option for the Pho but I called them and was happy that they do offer a vegetarian version. Let me tell you, this with some of the best Pho I have ever tasted. The broth is so flavorful, and all the veggies were fresh, and the tofu was perfectly fried little pockets that floated to the top when we added the broth. 10/10 we will definitely be back. Arguably some of the tastiest pho in the Portland area. I grew up eating Asian cuisine which included pho every week. Kent pho's recipe has hints of cinnamon and star anise which gives their broth the distinct taste which really hits the soul. The Banh Mi sandwiches are also delicious with the fresh crunchy Vietnamese baguettes. Need the meal to go, why not. Ordered banh mi and salad rolls for takeout today. The food took a bit to come out, but I could hear the meat being cooked, so that was cool. The results of my wait was that the sandwich was freshly made and tasted fantastic. I was surprised at how filling the sandwich was, I saved the salad rolls for my afternoon snack and they were still good. Hmm, the peanut sauce was ok. There's so many different variations, depending on what restaurant you go to, so it wasn't the best peanut sauce I've had, but it wasn't bad at all. The restaurant was pretty hot inside, but I figured they have the AC off during quarantine, since I believe they are only doing takeout. I wanted to go outside to wait, but I didn't want to make the nice man come outside to get me. I saw a guy come in and pick up, so I think I might call ahead next time. We have been dining here since they opened some years back. Every time and every item is so perfectly prepared, savory and satisfying. You will not be disappointed. One of my favorites is the vegetable stir fry with meat. I ask for rice noodles on the side (your choice of meat) on the special menu board from the main menu #14 and Pho is awesome too. Really you can't go wrong with any item. My only "complaint" is they do not sell alcohol, so no glass of wine or beer with dinner. I think they would have more dine in customers if they did. However the food is so good you will not miss it. The staff is very pleasant and service is great. They also do a fairly steady take out business as well. My husband went here to get us dinner tonight, 10/20/23. I wanted the Pho because it looked amazing and sounded so good! My husband got back and my order was a chow mein noodle dish? Granted, my husband should have checked the bag and made sure our order was right. I was like what's the harm in going back and letting them know the confusion. We grabbed the food and went back. I kindly, and I want to stress kindly, explained to the man behind the register "my husband came here a bit ago and I wanted pho but we got something else, I'm so sorry" - "we brought the food back". The man sarcastically smiled and clicked a button on the register and said "that'll be another $15.00 " my husband handed over his card to the man. The man started a conversation with the older lady making the food in their language that dragged on a bit. At this point I was uncomfortable and I felt I had gotten the old lady in trouble by this guy. So while they were talking I asked "have you run his card yet?" And they ignored me as they were deep discussion. Then he turned back to us and I asked again if the card had been run and he said no and handed the card back. I told the guy that nevermind, we will leave, it's fine. The older woman and man then BOTH started to ask me not to go more than a few times. Now stating they won't charge me, we can keep the food we have or they will take the food back and make my pho. Where was this energy when I came in and was kind with my request?? You made me too uncomfortable now, I don't want the food. The type of person I am I don't want food made by people from a negative place. Food could get undercooked, spit on, etc. I don't ever disrespect people who handle my food for this reason. The man already seemed pissed we were there requesting a remake. So I said I wouldn't return, but after seeing a bunch of positive reviews I figured I would give it another shot. Since they had been open at least a year I would think many of the issues we had on the first visit should be ironed out. Went with my son shortly after the lunch rush. There were roughly 5 tables with people, I figured we couldn't go wrong. We ordered two vermicelli bowls and salad rolls. My son ordered a pop. The salad rolls come out without any sauce to dip them in. It takes a while to flag down the waitress but eventually I do and she brings it over. Then comes the main dishes. Both our egg rolls were burnt, which I'm still baffled at. That should be a fryer "set it and forget it" item. My sons shrimp were drastically overcooked and rubbery. Our server forgot to bring the pop over which we reminded her of twice. It showed up about 5 minutes before we were done eating. Despite there just being a handful of tables with customers, we waited roughly 15 minutes to ask for 'to-go' boxes and the check but the server never came back despite me trying to politely get her attention. I finally got up and went up to the register to get both. While not the catastrophe of the first visit, and I really want to like this place because I support family owned businesses which it clearly is, I don't see trying again. Food is above average quality, mostly because their sauces are below standard. Prices are not what is advertised in YELP, and owner says they cannot change their prices on YELP, even their handout menus had older prices and those are higher than the prices advertised here. YELP needs to allow for owners to update their menu items as well as prices to reflect what the consumer needs to know to make an informed decision as to where to eat. To be clear, Kent Pho does not have unreasonable prices, but it is certainly hire than what is advertised. Example their Grilled Chicken plate in Yelp state it is 10.97 but at the restaurant and in their main menus (not takeout menus) it is listed at $16.00 which is just short of price per value. The restaurant itself is cozy and clean and service was friendly and welcoming. It is not highly visible as it is towards the back of a semi hidden strip mall. But inside the mall parking is mostly available in the very back, but the mall is clean are two other restaurants and a tap room. So, look out for the large sign at the entrance for the Kent Pho name. It is a reasonably good Vietnamese restaurant. read more

Came here this past weekend with my family for the first time. Everything we ordered was pretty good. We ordered shrimp salad rolls, crispy rolls, grilled chicken, yakisoba with shrimp, & Vietnamese stir fry vegetables with chicken, & Vietnamese iced coffee. It was all delicious but the only complaint I have was that the stir fry vegetable dish had too much sauce & it was really salty. Other than that, food & service was great. The food came out quickly. There are many different Vietnamese restaurants that we have tried, and we find ourselves returning to Kent. This is a very well, established dining place. It's In a safe, clean area, plenty of parking choices. Now, the food! I have not had a bad dish or experience yet. The BahMi sandwiches are perfect! The bread is soft inside and the crunch when you bite into it. Excellent balance with the cilantro, sauce, pickled carrot mix. Freshly sliced jalapeño, just perfect! You can't go wrong with a BahMi. We have also had their basil chicken, pad Thai, wonton soup. Excellent! Perfect balance of spices, flavor is not overwhelming, you can always get the hint anise, fish sauce, as it all comes together, it's a party of flavors bursting in your mouth! I went to Kent Pho yesterday, and learned they've only been open for four weeks! I could tell the employees were still learning and getting into the groove of things, but all were very friendly. I ordered the house noodles with tofu and the salad rolls. They were very quick! The salad rolls were tasty (shrimp and pork) and the peanut sauce was great. The noodles were delicious as well, but not spicy at all (could have been my error when ordering!). I'll definitely come back!
