This was my third time on the tour. It has been changed since the previous times. We now entered from a speakeasy-ish entrance which was cool! We received a sample in there immediately. A suggestion is to not rush that part. We need time to acclimate and adjust. Our walking tour went a different route through the distillery. Again, don't rush it! Another suggestion is to use a microphone. It will as very hard to hear, at times impossible, in the distillery room. It's such a loud space and the tour guide kept turning her head away from us. The sampling room was awesome as usual. Thanks for the water options (would have liked more drinking water). Overall a good, local tour worth going on at least once!

Loved, loved, loved this place! Small, intimate and old school. Kathy was our tour guide and she was very informative and kind. We had some bourbon aficionados on the tour so she had a lot of questions thrown at her. I really liked the steps of the tour (I will leave the surprise to you) and the five tastings at the end. I think it was the first tour that I tried and liked every taste. We didn't leave empty handed so that's a good sign! We will be back

    Tasting room was amazing!

We came to the KAD Clubhouse that's just down the way from the Distillery. We did the barrel thieving/tasting experience and had a blast. There was a group here on a bachelor trip as well. It was a great place to hangout and sip on some bourbons. The woman that worked there was so professional and kind and knowledgeable on the bourbons.

This is a small and young distillery off the beaten path. The tour is not too long - their distillery is located in an old ice cream distribution warehouse. The distillery is not big and we were there when they weren't distilling so it was very quiet. The tour guides are mostly retired enthusiasts who are very personable. The bourbon offerings are not high proof but they do have one unique product offering and that's a bourbon that is aged in Kentucky for 3 years and sent on a ship for another 8-9 months (still in its barrel). It passes the equator 4 times. We tried 2 different sailings and the 32 barrel pick was excellent. Nice tour to add to any Bourbon Trail experience and loved the novel product.

We had a great experience at KAD. We are big fans of Jefferson's and enjoyed our tour and our guide, Bob, was informative and likable. We've been to several tours and this one really stood out. We recommend this distillery to anyone! There is a tasting 'clubhouse' down the road which has a cool vibe and friendly staff.

This is a very nice small local distillery. It was my first time to visit and I went looking for some Christmas gifts for family. They have a complete stock of all their varieties of Bourbons. I had heard about the select Oceans bourbon and decided to make it my choice for gifts. It has one of the most unique stories of how it's aged (at Sea) than any other bourbon I've heard of. My family is going to love it.

Didn't get to take the tour but they have one of my favorite bourbons. I just had to come here as a rushed to the airport. The most friendly people, great products. The place is in somewhat of a industrial area in the middle of nowhere and of course I'm not from here so I really don't know. I'm glad I came. I would have like to do the tasting or tour. I might be work

We've been touring distilleries through KY...this tour was exceptional, intimate, and highlited the unique contributions KAD makes to the industry. Once Jefferson leaves wondering what the next big thing will be!

The tour was very well done! The history behind Jefferson's Bourbon especially the unique Ocean Aged At Sea Bourbon is so interesting! The bourbons were all delicious.

Very neat experience! The entrance is unique. We enjoyed learning about the voyage the jefferson ocean takes.

Excellent tour and tasting. First distillery we had ever visited. Great introduction, and it was a bonus the Reserve was our bourbon of choice prior to visiting. Ocean is now the go to!

Tasting and to our surprise we got a keepsake taster and got to taste from 5 barrels direct all the whiskeys were good with 3 out of the 5 being options for us to bottle. You are able to fill your own bottle of whiskey from any of the barrels which was definitely an experience. Compared to other distilleries, I thought the pricing was definitely worth it for the bottle. The tasting on the other hand was a little overpriced but for us it was still very worth it and one of our favorite distilleries all weekend. Lastly, the Photo Booth was a nice touch and made the experience that much more enjoyable! Overall, I would recommend any and everyone to check out Whiskey Thief if you are looking for a unique experience on the trail. Please note, I did not take a tour so I'm not sure what that would be like. It is included with your tasting admission.

When people think of whiskey in Indiana's Brown County, they might think of that other place. (You…read moreknow the one.) But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.

During an early 2025 trip to Washington, D.C., we went to multiple establishments and, coincidentally or not, encountered this specific bourbon and just loved it. The most notable occurrence was at Jack Rose Dining Saloon, where I had literally the best Old-Fashioned I've ever had, using a special Angel's Envy that hung out in some sherry barrels for a while. Since then, we've both regularly ordered it when given the opportunity, and ultimately decided that the best way to appreciate this fine spirit was to go right to the source. So to the mothership we went. My chum did most of the heavy lifting here and scheduled a bourbon tour with Louisville Food Tours (very strong recommend) that featured Angel's Envy at the first stop. It's hard to really put into words what this building looks like as you walk in and explore, but it's just so...nice. It's classy without being inaccessible, and it just felt like a true cathedral of bourbon. As tasteful as the bourbon it makes. During our initial tour, we were probably in the distillery for a solid half hour plus, getting a quick tour of the still and fermenters before being led into a side room on the second floor to formally taste some bourbon. Paula was our guide, both during this tour and later on, and was just enormously impressive, which I touched upon in my review of the official tour as well. She's no-nonsense and loves her bourbon - who can't relate? We learned how to inspect the bourbon in the glass, to take a test sip to numb the pain receptors and to truly appreciate the subtle notes in the bourbon with the second sip. It was legitimately helpful, useful information that we're both going to utilize going forward. After our three-hour tour ended (go hard or go home), it wasn't even much of a discussion - we came back here for a few hours to soak in more of the atmosphere and drink some more bourbon. At this point, it was probably close to 5ish but the place was still pretty busy; somehow we were able to secure spots at the bar upstairs and made ourselves at home. I wish I could remember the name of our bartender (blame the time that has elapsed, not the bourbon), but he was very good, social without being oppressive and was just present and let us do our thing. After sipping straight bourbon for most of the afternoon, I switched to the Bourbon Renewal, which you'll be shocked to know includes Angel's Envy but is a more summer, fruit-forward cocktail and super refreshing. Was the right call and hit the spot. (We also got waters because that's the responsible thing to do.) We finally went back downstairs to the gift shop, which doesn't feel like the right term - it was more majestic than something you'd walk into after going through, say, a museum for an hour or two. It's enormous and offers numerous bourbons and also some very high quality swag. We reunited with our chum Paula and sampled their limited edition two-grain, which was created due to a fortunate mistake in which the rye wasn't added so it's just the corn and malted barley. You CAN see the difference and taste it; to me at least, it's more caramel-y than their normal single barrel. We each bought a bottle to bring back to the homeland. My chum basically bought half the store, but I remained calm/deliberate and my only other purchase was a MAGNIFICENT black hoodie. I'm not kidding - I love hoodies and have probably owned dozens over the years, and this is literally the best quality one I've had. It has this interesting front pouch pocket design with like a pocket within the pocket for high-priority items like your ID or credit cards, and the hood itself is interesting. It's just really good and I wore it all day the next day as we slowly made our way back to the East Coast. It's been washed and carefully placed in my closet, where it will reign supreme when the weather inevitably turns nippy again. It's not an exaggeration to say we probably spent hundreds of dollars (at least not thousands) directly and indirectly involving Angel's Envy on this trip. Worth it.
