It was Sunday June 7, 2026 around 9:00 am when we arrived. It was a mad house. We turned in on the lane that takes you directly to the gas pumps. We were driving for a while and just decided to park so we could go in and use the restroom and get something to eat. After using the spotless restroom and cleaning up, we went to get our food. As I said, the place was an absolute madhouse, but it was good madness. To see so many people packed in one place with smiles and looks of joy on their faces. Great time's. I know it's just a rest stop but it's so much more. This place just makes people happy. It was still breakfast time so they were still serving the incredible brisket tacos. I absolutely love just the brisket taco with their green salsa. It's amazing! My taco was packed with brisket and comes on the fresh made tortillas they make right there in the store. My wife loves the brisket and egg taco just plain the way it comes. They are equally as good and also loaded with brisket and a good amount of egg. After getting our food, we went and got a few of the new Buc-ee's America 250 merchandise. We just got a couple of t-shirts and a fridge magnet. There is anything you can imagine in the merchandise section. After checking out, we went to our car to eat our food. Sitting there eating we just watched a non stop line of cars pulling in. It was like it was timed perfectly. Every vehicle seemed like they were spaced out the perfect distance from one another. It was like it was choreographed. We sat there for about a half hour watching this. It was hilarious. When we finished eating, we went to fuel up before getting back on the road. This particular day the gas was $3.47 a gallon. When we got back to Cave City, the gas was $3.74. Even with all of those cars coming in, there was no waiting to get to a gas pump. Buc-ee's is a fun place to stop in and grab a snack, have some awesome brisket, pulled pork, or beef jerky. It's just a wonderful place.

A large parking area that is well shaded and a very large structure that could be a Kentucky plantation home complete with lots of brochures, clean restrooms and (during business hours), an associate who can answer questions about amenities and accommodations in the area. Nice and well-kept rest area [Horse Cave KY]…read more This is a rest area? I thought it was a visitor's center. Horse Cave Rest Area off Interstate 65 in Horse Cave KY, right around mile marker 59. It's got northbound and southbound access, which is convenient if you're not sure which way you'll be traveling. We were heading South on our way to Nashville. The grounds are clean and well-maintained. Inside is spacious with benches to rest on each corners. Maps and brochures are available and well stocked. Separately from the restrooms are vending machines and outdoor picnic tables. Pets welcome. On I-65 Mile Marker 60 watch out for a time change because you have just entered the Central Time Zone (not Twilight Zone). They have some nice rest stops on I-65 in Kentucky. This rest area is located at mile marker 84 while traveling along Interstate 65 North through…read moreAlabama. The actual name for the rest area is the Conecuh County Rest Area I-65 North. In general, the rest areas are spaced out quite a bit during travels along the road. My visit here was on July 29, 2021. The main reason for stopping here was to take a quick restroom break along the way. When you come up to the main building, there are signs on the door noting that masks are required to be worn while inside, though pretty much everyone else ignored that altogether. Anyways, the restrooms were clean and well maintained, which has been the norm when visiting any Alabama rest area. Inside the building also includes the vending and such as well. On the outside, there is a good amount of outdoor space to walk around. There are some tables and such to sit down as well, both covered and uncovered. The green space is great since it does give lots of space to walk around and stretch the body before getting back on the road again. Overall, this is a really good rest area. Everything was well maintained and had no issues. Since these rest areas are far and few in between, I totally recommend stopping in to take a break here before continuing your northbound journey.

That huge coffee which seemed like a good deal when I got it had me feeling the buyers remorse. However just when things were getting bad, the Johnny Cash Rest Area sign appeared. The room was clean and comfortable but the unit ac/heat control was a small issue. I could not get the fan to stay on which for people that need that white noise made it a rough night to sleep. When Jessica finally answered again and asked if I could hold, I again said yes, but that I kept getting disconnected and didn't know why. She responded in a completely hateful and unprofessional tone "Well, I'm busy with customers right now. Can you hold?" I hung up and have no intent on calling back or visiting.
