It is an easy right-hand exit with a straightforward entrance and plenty of parking for both cars and large trucks. It is a good first stop to stretch your legs, take a break from driving, and pick up information about the Bluegrass State before continuing your journey. One of the first things you'll notice after parking is the large horse statue outside the building to the right. It's a fitting welcome to Kentucky since it is well known for its horse farms and racing heritage. Also, marketing-wise, it makes for a great photo opportunity before heading inside. Inside the main building, it is spacious, bright, and very well maintained. It is a large open lobby with a round information desk in the center of the room. There were brochures of lots of the attractions arrayed on the round desk and derby pictures and other sights on the outside of the informational desk. The restrooms are conveniently located on either side of the main lobby, making them easy to find even if you're in a hurry. Everything was clean, both inside and outside. The parking areas were free of litter. Overall, I would certainly recommend stopping here if you're entering Kentucky on I-65. It is a pleasant, convenient, and well-maintained place to begin your travels through the Commonwealth. Enjoy!

There are some pilot travel centers that its pain in the butt to get to the pump. Pumps are also clean and sterilized. Inside, there are many things First thing is of course coffee. They added these machines a while ago, they brew fresh and delicious coffee. There are some snacks for the coffee between the aisles. This rest area is located at mile marker 84 while traveling along Interstate 65 North through…read moreAlabama. The actual name for the rest area is the Conecuh County Rest Area I-65 North. In general, the rest areas are spaced out quite a bit during travels along the road. My visit here was on July 29, 2021. The main reason for stopping here was to take a quick restroom break along the way. When you come up to the main building, there are signs on the door noting that masks are required to be worn while inside, though pretty much everyone else ignored that altogether. Anyways, the restrooms were clean and well maintained, which has been the norm when visiting any Alabama rest area. Inside the building also includes the vending and such as well. On the outside, there is a good amount of outdoor space to walk around. There are some tables and such to sit down as well, both covered and uncovered. The green space is great since it does give lots of space to walk around and stretch the body before getting back on the road again. Overall, this is a really good rest area. Everything was well maintained and had no issues. Since these rest areas are far and few in between, I totally recommend stopping in to take a break here before continuing your northbound journey.

A large parking area that is well shaded and a very large structure that could be a Kentucky plantation home complete with lots of brochures, clean restrooms and (during business hours), an associate who can answer questions about amenities and accommodations in the area. Nice and well-kept rest area [Horse Cave KY]…read more This is a rest area? I thought it was a visitor's center. Horse Cave Rest Area off Interstate 65 in Horse Cave KY, right around mile marker 59. It's got northbound and southbound access, which is convenient if you're not sure which way you'll be traveling. We were heading South on our way to Nashville. The grounds are clean and well-maintained. Inside is spacious with benches to rest on each corners. Maps and brochures are available and well stocked. Separately from the restrooms are vending machines and outdoor picnic tables. Pets welcome. On I-65 Mile Marker 60 watch out for a time change because you have just entered the Central Time Zone (not Twilight Zone). They have some nice rest stops on I-65 in Kentucky. Buc-ee's isn't a gas station. It's a roadside attraction that happens to sell gas…read more First things first, the gas was about 50¢ a gallon cheaper than the local stations when we stopped. With today's fuel prices, filling up here can actually put enough money back in your pocket to help pay for the food you're inevitably going to buy once you walk inside. Now let's talk about the real reason you end up spending 45 minutes inside: THE FOOD. The chopped brisket sandwich was really good. It was tender, flavorful and definitely something I'd order again. We've also tried the pulled pork and the club melt, and both were excellent. The food is a little on the pricey side, but so far the quality has made it worth it. And if you're a beef jerky person, prepare yourself. They basically have a wall of jerky. You don't just pick up beef jerky at Buc-ee's, you stand there studying your options like you're making an important financial decision. Their Jerky Bar is actually one of the foods Buc-ee's says is available 24 hours a day, along with fresh hot food and their homemade fudge. What I never leave without is the Praline candy And then there are the bathrooms. I'm convinced Buc-ee's may have the cleanest public bathrooms on planet Earth. If you've ever been on a long road trip, you understand just how important this information is! So here's my Buc-ee's advice for first-timers: don't go in thinking you're just stopping for gas. You'll pump your gas, use the cleanest bathroom you've seen on the interstate, grab a brisket sandwich, inspect 47 varieties of jerky, wander through half the store looking at things you didn't know you needed...and somehow come back outside with a bag full of stuff. Is it a little pricey inside? Yep. Is it worth stopping? Absolutely. Cheap gas, great food, ridiculously clean bathrooms and enough stuff inside to turn a 10-minute fuel stop into a family field trip. The beaver knows what he's doing.
