Came to Kirbey Lane Cafe from a friend's recommendation and it was a pretty good experience! The staff were very nice and added us to a waitlist (text notifications). It was about a 15min wait when we got there around 9:45am. Casual, clean, and plenty of tables! I ordered the Crispy Chicken Benedict, which was so good! The pickled onions really breaks the savory flavor. My cousin ordered the Texas Benedict, which sounded good on paper, but it didn't hit like the Crispy Chicken Benedict. The wagyu beef just didn't mesh super well with the cornbread. Great concept and decent flavor though! I would eat them as separate dishes. The kitchen was confused with our order, but quickly made up for it before we even knew there was a problem. We got an extra latte and 2 extra pancakes! Wow! They explained what happened and didn't allow any room for disappointment. Very impressive.

Nice, cozy café with a pleasant, bright interior. Overall a good spot, but the food was a bit disappointing for me. I ordered a sandwich, and it turned out quite dry. Even though it had pesto, the flavor was somehow bland. At the same time, it felt greasy. The bread was very heavily toasted, honestly too hard, which really affected the experience. Unfortunately, I didn't like the sandwich. The cappuccino was good, the coffee itself was solid. The place is popular, so it was fairly noisy inside, and the music was quite loud. Service was good though: friendly staff and everything came out quickly. At first, my coffee was served in a chipped cup, but I asked to replace it and they did so right away without any issues

Visiting family we decided to go to an old favorite. Although this is a newer location, the menu had all the favorites. Went with the hot cocoa (which was warm and not hot) and the egg Francisco (quite yummy especially with the queso). It was a lot of food. Service was great.

We came here on a weekday morning and when we got in, the place was so very cold inside. Apparently, that is the norm. My partner ordered the crispy chicken Benedict, and he thought it was pretty good, but was surprised that there was more meat than he would have liked. The Eggs Francisco was pretty good, but it kind of came out lukewarm. The cheese toppings on it was so overpowering. There was also probably more bacon than we would have thought for the plate, and I would have asked for no bacon if I knew it would be bacon that was not crispy. The beignet hotcake was just okay and did not have the beignet flavors we were expecting. Our server was kind and attentive, but overall, the food was just okay -- but the ice cold interior kind of made the environment and the food too cold than we would have preferred.

I've been to Kerbey a few times, and to a few different locations, but I think today is the first time I've left actually really satisfied with my food. For the most part it's always been it's good enough but nothing that has ever wowed me. The service has always been the main reason I return, not so much the food. I had the Eggs Francisco with the side of the house potatoes and everything was cooked and seasoned so nicely. I think I have my new favorite item.

Stopped by for a casual brunch and tried the vegan tofu scramble with a matcha latte. The scramble was flavorful and well-seasoned, not bland like some tofu dishes can be. It came with veggies and a side that actually felt satisfying. The cinnamon pancake was so good too! Service was chill and friendly, and the overall vibe of the place is super relaxed. We did have to wait a bit though since it was prime brunch time. Definitely a go-to if you're into good vegan options and want something a little different without giving up flavor. Will be back for sure!

My running group meets at Kerby Lane Cafe every Wednesday morning at 6:30am. This past Wednesday happened to be Global Running Day, and the restaurant hosted the entire group on the patio for a pancake breakfast...for the third year in a row. The staff is so friendly and accommodating; they even prepared special gluten-free pancakes for me. The 3-stack of pancakes were large and delicious! It's rare that I get to enjoy this breakfast food at a restaurant, and Kerby Lane provided a wonderful experience. And the complimentary coffee was excellent too!

Kerbey Lane is an Austin icon for breakfast. I came here on global running day because they were hosting the 5Run2 run club at this location. After the run, they provided pancakes for all the runners. The pancakes were so light and fluffy and I got mine to go with maple syrup and butter. I usually get the California omelet as my breakfast choice. The omelette comes with three eggs stuffed with sliced avocado & cheddar jack cheese, topped with homemade green chile sour cream sauce, diced tomato & Kalamata olives. I always add bacon and then cut the olives as they graciously accommodate modifications. I am also a fan of the eggs Francisco that comes with a Toasted English muffin topped with scrambled eggs, sliced tomato, all natural bacon, avocado slices & queso. Choice of two breakfast sides which I get fruit and breakfast potatoes. For beverages, I usually get the chai latte or lemonade. The service is always friendly and attentive. Although I mostly eat here for breakfast, they offer lunch and dinner options too.

1/30/25- Always up to trying out a new place for coffee.. Bright and roomy store front- Seemed to have a great morning crowd- Went to the counter and decided on a Honey Butter Latte- Five stars based on the coffee only- Five because they offered Soy Milk! Staff was nice and tweaked it so it wasn't too sweet. Oh my it was perfect! Would I come back?.. most definitely- What would I try?: the maple latte!

By far our favorite breakfast spot! Best price, best quality! My go to is the cinnamon swirl pancakes & my husband loves the sweet potato hash.

We came in with High hope and left quite disappointed. The place looks very cute. The service is great, if not excellent. The food is questionable though. We ordered the chilaquiles. the top of the beans looks very dry out, so it has been sitting around for a while before getting to us. The taste doesn't leave any impression.

Went here for recharging after deal with bunch of kids in the morning and waiting for them visiting museum. Busy on the weekend, especially on Sunday late morning, sat at the counter and it was perfect. The service is excellent, nice and attentive. Got Cuban breakfast since l loved fried banana and some pancake with OJ. Yummy and tasty foods. The wait can be long since it's busy but I'm okey with it since I need the time to get my energy up for the afternoon with the kid. The place is clean, airy and spacious and organized. They do have coveted patio and plenty of parking spots. Enjoyed it overall while visiting Austin and got recommended by my sister whom live here and spot on.

I ordered the migas, and the amount of onions in the dish was overwhelming--so much so that it felt like I had ordered a plate of onions rather than migas. The masa cakes were definitely the standout item and were absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the dish fell short. The sauce was extremely rich, making it difficult to enjoy or finish the meal. That said, the restaurant itself is adorable, and our waiter was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were both great. While this breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I'll still return and stick with favorites like the fried green tomatoes and taquito salad, which were excellent during my previous visit.

Their burger is easily one of the best I've had in Austin, especially paired with their thin, crispy fries. It's my go-to order almost every time. One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

While Magnolia Cafe is a longtime South Congress staple and a beloved Austin spot, my visit didn't quite live up to expectations. I met a group here for a pre-show meal and appreciated being seated promptly upon arrival, even though my entire party had not yet arrived. I ordered the chicken caldo soup, which was not served with avocado. The waitress did not check in with us immediately after the food was served but when I inquired about it I noticed there was an up charge on the bill for avocado. I recommend allowing the substitution of the tortilla chips with avocado in the future for a healthier alternative. However chicken caldo traditionally cones with avocado. I also tried the Mag nachos, with tortilla chips topped with black beans, cheddar/jack cheese, jalapeño, tomato, green onion, avocado and sour cream. These were very tasty and unlike the caldo, was served with avocado. The food took a while to come out and the service felt slower than expected. Magnolia has a great reputation, so I was hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of expectations.
