My boyfriend and I first time being there and honestly this place is SO amazing. It was really nice of them having a vegan and gluten free option menu. Our experience was wonderful. It was about a 15min wait when we got there around 9:45am. Casual, clean, and plenty of tables! I ordered the Crispy Chicken Benedict, which was so good! The pickled onions really breaks the savory flavor. My cousin ordered the Texas Benedict, which sounded good on paper, but it didn't hit like the Crispy Chicken Benedict. The wagyu beef just didn't mesh super well with the cornbread. Great concept and decent flavor though! I would eat them as separate dishes. Nice, cozy café with a pleasant, bright interior. Overall a good spot, but the food was a bit disappointing for me. I ordered a sandwich, and it turned out quite dry. Even though it had pesto, the flavor was somehow bland. At the same time, it felt greasy. The bread was very heavily toasted, honestly too hard, which really affected the experience. Unfortunately, I didn't like the sandwich. The cappuccino was good, the coffee itself was solid. The place is popular, so it was fairly noisy inside, and the music was quite loud. We came here on a weekday morning and when we got in, the place was so very cold inside. Apparently, that is the norm. My partner ordered the crispy chicken Benedict, and he thought it was pretty good, but was surprised that there was more meat than he would have liked. The Eggs Francisco was pretty good, but it kind of came out lukewarm. The cheese toppings on it was so overpowering. There was also probably more bacon than we would have thought for the plate, and I would have asked for no bacon if I knew it would be bacon that was not crispy. The beignet hotcake was just okay and did not have the beignet flavors we were expecting. My running group meets at Kerby Lane Cafe every Wednesday morning at 6:30am. This past Wednesday happened to be Global Running Day, and the restaurant hosted the entire group on the patio for a pancake breakfast...for the third year in a row. The staff is so friendly and accommodating; they even prepared special gluten-free pancakes for me. The 3-stack of pancakes were large and delicious! It's rare that I get to enjoy this breakfast food at a restaurant, and Kerby Lane provided a wonderful experience. And the complimentary coffee was excellent too! read more

Kerbey Lane is an Austin icon for breakfast. I came here on global running day because they were hosting the 5Run2 run club at this location. After the run, they provided pancakes for all the runners. The pancakes were so light and fluffy and I got mine to go with maple syrup and butter. I usually get the California omelet as my breakfast choice. The omelette comes with three eggs stuffed with sliced avocado & cheddar jack cheese, topped with homemade green chile sour cream sauce, diced tomato & Kalamata olives. I always add bacon and then cut the olives as they graciously accommodate modifications. I am also a fan of the eggs Francisco that comes with a Toasted English muffin topped with scrambled eggs, sliced tomato, all natural bacon, avocado slices & queso. Choice of two breakfast sides which I get fruit and breakfast potatoes. For beverages, I usually get the chai latte or lemonade. The service is always friendly and attentive. The great thing about this restaurant is there is something for everyone! Breakfast is served all day. Lunch options are great from burgers to salads to sandwiches. They even have gluten free and dairy free menu! Our group had breakfast and lunch items. The Denver omelette was delicious. Thick chunks of ham and plenty of cheddar cheese. Two side options I got the pancake and bacon. $1.50 extra for the pancake. Decent but not the greatest I would say a little dry. They do have plain cakes as well as cinnamon swirl, chocolate chip, and blueberry. A side of sausage is only one small patty just FYI. Lunch items for our table was turkey sandwich. Thick sliced turkey on fresh roll. Side salad. Delicious. Also Thai style shrimp salads with some yummy pineapple. The drinks here keep coming and what I mean by that is unlimited re-fills. Went here for recharging after deal with bunch of kids in the morning and waiting for them visiting museum. Busy on the weekend, especially on Sunday late morning, sat at the counter and it was perfect. The service is excellent, nice and attentive. Got Cuban breakfast since l loved fried banana and some pancake with OJ. Yummy and tasty foods. The wait can be long since it's busy but I'm okey with it since I need the time to get my energy up for the afternoon with the kid. The place is clean, airy and spacious and organized. Great Restaurant! The parking lot is big but I find that it's hard to find a parking spot during certain times of the day. We went in at around 12PM on a Saturday and I think I found the very last parking spot available. Ive been shopping in that same parking lot and had the Same issue but I did end up getting a parking spot both times. The Staff is incredible they are very kind and accommodating. Me and my friend went in for brunch. I started off with a hot matcha latte with almond milk. I love Matcha and this is probably one of the best ones I've had here in Austin. I normally feel like the others taste a bit watered down but this one was really concentrated and delicious I didn't add any sweetener and I didn't feel like it needed it. For my meal I ordered the Buffalo Mac it was tasty. I would have preferred for only the chicken to have the buffalo sauce and the Mac and cheese just be Mac and cheese without buffalo in it because I felt like the buffalo was overwhelming since it was in both the chicken and mixed in the Mac and cheese. I also ordered the flight of pancakes I got their monthly pancake which was the peach cobbler, the lemmon poppy seed, and the cinnamon roll. They were good. My friend ordered the Orange Mocha Latte and COBB salad which she really enjoyed. I would visit again. I like that instead of reservations you can get on a waitlist online from home and if you time it right when you arrive you're ready to be seated. Great experience overall! read more

I had a wonderful time at brunch and yes it was busy but we found out that you could go online and get "in line"/reserve your spot. They have a large gluten free menu with $2 up charge but who cares at this point I was so grateful I could eat French toast and not feel resentful lol! They even have gluten free pancakes. I partook in the matcha latte and mimosas, both which were great. I am really surprised that they don't put any sugar in the matcha as well. Kirby lane - an Austin staple that gives you a lot of food! Love their queso, and like to sit at the bar (it's much faster than waiting for a seat and you can watch the cooking machine work). We actually came the day prior around 7:25pm but they closed at 8pm and we were told they stopped sitting people. After about a minute of waiting, the host asked how many were in our party, which was 3. We were told it'll be 5-10 minutes and that there was a party of 3 ahead of us. I was confused by the wait because there were several available tables. While waiting, I noticed they had a "Greetings from Austin" painting in the waiting room. It's like the mural that on the side of a building elsewhere in Austin. There was a price tag for $800. I'm not sure if it's actually for sale though. Layout was nice. They have outdoor seating, which wasn't presented as an option. They have bar seating for those that want that. They have beer on tap and a partial bar. I saw an abundance of Tito's bottles. We were sat at 5:46pm. They do have kids menu and crayons, which was nice. The adult menu, however, was dirty... Our waitress came at 5:50pm. Her name was Zoey. She was friendly. We got waters to start. They have happy hour from 4-6pm every day. I ordered a Blueberry Collins at 5:53pm, which came 5 minutes later. It tasted decent and more like soda than an alcoholic beverage. I hadn't eaten since breakfast so I can say that I did feel it a little bit. I'll also note that the bar menu was dirty too. My son got the kids breakfast platter. I got the bacon wrapped meatloaf with a side of home fries. My sister got French toast and chicken. The food came at 6:19pm, which was about 20 minutes after ordering. My home fries were missing and came at 6:26pm. Every single part of my meal was delicious! The home fries were seasoned amazingly. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. The meatloaf was mouth watering! The sauce initially threw me off appearance wise, but it was amazing. My son and sister enjoyed their food. I tasted their French toast and I enjoyed it. Wanted to avoid typical lunch rush. Arrived at 2:00 PM. Stood at the counter and they avoided eye contact with me to sit me down. Even the manager, a tall, swarthy Mediterranean fellow, avoided eye contact. Waited 10 minutes, no line. Other people were seated. Oh well, I used their very clean men's room, and then I left to go to a nearby restaurant. Everybody... feel free to use their bathroom! No one will bother you at all! It's sparkling clean, multiple toilets and urinals and then you can eat at another restaurant nearby if they ignore you for a seating. I encourage people at the nearby bus stop to use their facilities because you will be unbothered! Also if you are thinking that they did not seat me because I am not white... I don't think so. I last ate here 8 years ago and I was seated... unless there is new management since then? I really don't know. read more

The food was great, but the service was surprisingly terrible. The orders came out at different times, and some of them were at the wrong temperature. Despite asking for more refills on drinks from our table, we were ignored so much that we had to get up and make the request at the bar. But ok, the food was great otherwise. Skip. It's not worth the wait if you see 20 people waiting outside. I can't even suggest takeout because there is only one line for people picking up their food, trying to get on the waitlist, or trying to show they got a text that their table is ready. The flavors were So strange and the small beef cubes were grizzly tough and flavorless, hardly wagyu beef. The Out of the World queso was skimpy so I asked for more to cover the dish cost $2.75!!!
