I got the Caesar Salad with no protein, I had split the happy hour items Amanda's Trio with my cousin and we got the fries, collard greens and ranch beans. I got the adult lemonade that was spiked with peach favoring. When I got the caesar salad I didn't finish it b/c the anchovy smell was too strong for me. The collard greens were good, the fries can't complain, and the ranch beans I didn't eat b/c my cousin ordered them. Andi our waitress was very nice and patience b/c it was our first time. Unfortunately my visit here lately wasn't great. Service was super inattentive, the waiter brought us our food and asked where our drinks were 15 min later. We then got our drinks after our food. The food was not as impressive as I remember. Maybe it's because we got salads. Mine was suppose to have kale in the mix. I was too hungry to ask why it didn't come with kale. There were way too many cranberries. Though my friend raved about her cobb salad, so I guess I just got the wrong salad. The fries came out cold and we had to track down our waiter to order dessert and get the check. The peanut butter pie was a little too dense for me and it lacked depth in flavor. So Austin and I love it! Started as a food truck in Austin and now has a few locations. I frequented this Lake Austin location in high school while it was inhabited by the iconic Magnolia Cafe since the 70s and part of me didn't want to embrace the change but after getting the OG chicken sandwich, I'm a convert. It came with a VERY big, crispy and juicy chicken breast. They also have a smaller size if you're not that hungry. There are 6 spice levels and I got it "mo-hot" (3rd spice level) and it was spicy enough for me (and I love spice)! I ordered to go but this looks like a nice local hangout spot to grab some fried chicken and drinks. The gentleman at the to-go counter was very friendly. You can park and text the number on the sign and they'll bring it out to you though it was just as easy to go in and grab the order. The Sichuan fries looked good. The food was amazing. Everything had a great flavor and was cooked to perfection. The spice levels were accurate compared to their advertising. The customer service was very good. The manager and servers were outside laughing and giving the customers complete hospitality. One of the best customer service I have experienced in Austin. There really wasn't any negatives to this experience and that is why this place will always be one of my favorites in town. The only negative about the experience is trying to find parking. I love coming to this location, their sandwiches are so good! Staff is always so friendly and considering how busy they always are we always get seated super quickly. The southern chicken sandwich offers a variety of spicy level options, Mo' Hot is my personal favorite if you like a kick of spicyness. This was the first meal we had after landing. I was referred to Tumble22 by a friend who was recommended by their friend. Anyways, walking into the restaurant, it's a smaller indoor place with a large patio for eating. That being said, it's got a rustic/quirky design language and decor inside, with images of chickens and barn-esque things. Sitting down, we got to ordering. An OG sandwich and 3 boneless thighs for us, along with some sides: the broccoli salad and some ranch beans. The food came out really quickly, and it was fresh as hell. Shoutout to our server for bearing with us, because us foreigners can get annoying, I'm sure. Onto the taste. The fry was fantastic on this chicken, y'all. The sandwich came with pickles, slaw, and some sauce that was perfect. The crunch was crunching, and the juice was juicing. Great acidity from the slaw and pickles, and the richness of the chicken was fantastic. Textural flavor wonderland. Much to enjoy there. I also liked the thighs a lot. Looking for a quick meal while in Austin over the weekend and Tumble 22 gave us a chance to sample another Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The crowd today was the hard working class, mainly men, that were more than capable of handling this very generously sized sandwiched. The huge portion of chicken requires compression in order to get your mouth around the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The wood framed building reminded me of a beach house. Our friendly waitress welcomed as a first time diners with a complimentary deviled eggs appetizer. We also followed up with OG Southern Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with bread and butter pickles, Duke's mayo, creamy slaw on a potato bun. The deviled eggs were good with a crispy bacon wedge. I've never actually gotten the sandwich here before but I did this one time to see how it all comes together. Usually I just go straight to the "Star of the Show" and don't bother myself with any distractions like bread or sides of any sort. But hey, this was a great experience. I can surely understand how folks come in for the sandwich all the time and love it. It may even be better than just chicken itself all the time because the sides + burger/sandwich construction lends itself to nicely balance the meal. Service was as good as you'd expect at a fast food chicken joint with good ol southern hospitality. Great and great. We came here during lunch time so it was a bit of a rush but not too much that the staff slowed down or our meals came out late. I will definitely be back here again when I can. If you're lucky, you can get a spot right in front. It seems like Tumble is always bustling when I come by, but service is consistently efficient and you get your food quickly! 1/4 Dark (Mo'Hot) - 5/5 - The meat is super soft and juicy with delicious crunch. Just the right amount of spice and the seasoning of the chicken is delicious. - Comes with a slice of bread, bread-n-butter pickles, and a choice of 2 sides. One time I tried the collard greens, and it was just ok. Now I always get 2 sides of their coleslaw - tastes great and cuts through some of the greasiness of the chicken. - Total came out to be $12, which is super worth it for the amount of food you get. The reason I give 4 stars overall is because Tumble's spice/seasoning seems to vary slightly by location. I've been to the Burnet Rd location and got 1/4 Dark (Mo'Hot) there, which was too spicy. At this location, I then tried their OG Chicken Sandwich and 1/4 Dark (both Hot) and there wasn't enough flavor. Scammy group tip by server We come here often on our tourist trips. Love the chicken sandwiches. However this time our wonderful server turned a little scammy with our group of 8. We assumed a 20% required group tip, however he brought the credit machine to table before showing a bill. The machine displayed "Add a 3, 5, 7% tip" and he watched us twist in agony what to tip. He even said something like ..."as a manager I get less tip"... So we of course manually typed in a 20% tip. When the bill finally arrived we see our group actually double tipped. This place has a clear culinary point of view and does what they do very well. It's all about the chicken and the egg. The chicken they're most famous for is their fried tender, though there are other options. They even had meatless options. But the restaurant is a celebration of the chicken tender, which they do very well. What could compliment the chicken better than the egg. And which came first? Here, it's the egg. Their deviled egg ("heavenly egg") is their most famous appetizer and it is extremely good. Our server was hip, made us feel at home, and took good care of us. We had the deviled eggs (five halves - so I guess the chef gets a half, lol). They were creamy, well seasoned, had a little kick, and were liberally topped with candied bacon. Yummo! We are big deviled egg fans and have had many variations. These stand up to the best! My wife had two chicken tenders with a side of fries. Two was plenty. It's like a whole chicken breast cut in half lengthwise. Crispy, moist and flavorful. The fries were standard though not excellent. She says next time she'll try a different side - probably the broccoli salad. I had the cobb salad with chicken tenders. I highly recommend this. It's not available with blue cheese dressing, which is usually my preference. But I wouldn't change a thing. It was perfect. So delicious! And it also comes with a whole deviled egg (two halves). It's not exactly a healthy, low calory salad. It's a cobb. It's a bowl of decadent flavor. But it's amazingly delicious and you still get to check the box of, "I'm making healthy choices; I had salad for dinner." :-) For any chicken you order, there's a scale of heart level (spiciness). I choose, "hot," which has a detectable but lower level of heat. They offer several degrees higher than that. My wife had "mo spicy" and she has a pretty high tolerance but it was too spicy for her, so we traded out one tender each, to balance the heat. They're spiciness chart is as much about the source of the heat as it is about the level of heat. "Mo spicy" has ground, dried peppers of some sort dusted onto it. It was very unevenly dusted, and in some places downright coated. It was a very flavorful spice mix. I really enjoyed it. But don't go for 'mo unless you're really prepared. I loved it, but it made me sweat a bit. My nose ran and my lips burned. But I couldn't stop eating it, lol! I tried a drink there that sounds wierd but I really liked it! Their bar advertises, "stiff, cheap cocktails" (clever marketing). I had the 60/40. It's a beer glass filled 60% with Modelo on draft and 40% filled with a frozen blood orange margarita. Sounds crazy. But dang it was good. Bright and refreshing. I will absolutely order that again next time I'm here. And I'll order another cobb with hot chicken tenders. But since that comes with a deviled egg, instead of ordering an appetizer, I'll save room for their buttermilk pie, which looked amazing. read more

I got the Korean BBQ OG and I do not recommend it at all. The bun was too soft for the style of chicken I felt it was holding. On top of that I request for the heat level to be a 4 and felt that no spices had been added at all. On top of that, the gochujang was decent but I felt lacked any depth of flavor. The main redeeming factor is that the chicken was moist. I also ordered their Szechuan fries. Don't get them. Fries were soggy, lacked salt, and there was little to no overall flavor. The outside would be fun with a small group. I went back again just to make sure it wasn't a hoax first time but had the same experience with the OG tenders. I don't know how Tumble does it, but my chicken sandwich (the OG) comes out perfectly crispy and stays crispy even way after I begin to eat. The OG is tje perfect combination of spicy chicken breast with amazing flavor, complimented by sweet coleslaw and pickles. The only downside is that the bread can get a bit soggy from the coleslaw but that's typically how it goes for most places that put coleslaw on burgers. I'm not sure what's in the cheese sauce but the Mac and cheese is a no-skip every single time. This location can be tricky with parking so keep that in mind when you visit. While it looks small, I like that they have a heated patio on top of the physical location. The inside does get really loud and can be sort of cramped but I'm not knocking stars because the food is just too good. I will say our server did not visit super often to refill drinks or give the check (I opted to not take the little bit of my sandwich to go because I didn't want to wait for him another time).
