I would recommend this place more for a happy hour/ casual lunch than a go to dining spot. The service staff was very friendly (especially the female bartender upstairs!!) but service was slow to get food out. I would not come here if you are on a tight timeline. Located in East Austin Hotel the ambiance and decor is fantastic- beautiful space. The bar drinks were solid. The parking can be a bit dicey as is typical of East these days, but they do validate if you park in their lot! Food was hit or miss. The pizza was a little disappointing. The crust wasnt airy and soft, and the flavor was a little bland for being pepper and sausage. The hamburger was good, cooked well, but wasn't anything special. Some other dishes looked good on nearby tables, but for the price point if you are looking for good food there are better options in East Austin. Come for the cocktails and ambiance, not as much for the food.

I have mixed feelings about Second Bar & Kitchen. I had their food at the airport and it was a special street taco pizza. At the 6th street location I ordered a sausage and pepper pizza and it be acceptable for flavor wise but when the title of the pizza is sausage and there are multiple slices with no sausage it is an issue... The service was friendly but slow. I rather hit up Jewboys sliders across the street.

My husband and I decided to go to breakfast to celebrate my birthday. We chose Second Bar & Kitchen. We drove up and found parking in front. You do have to pay for parking. We also went on a week day at around 11:00 AM. Not sure how crazy parking is on the weekends or during busier times. The restaurant interior is nice and bright with a welcoming atmosphere. After we walked in we were greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress. She asked us where we would like to sit and then guided us to our seats. She asked if we wanted water to start and we agreed. She came back and brought our waters and the menus to look over and then gave us some time to look at the menu. Within a few minutes she came over to take our order. After looking at the menu I decided to try the Avacado Toast which comes with eggs sunny side up, smashed avacado, pickled onions, feta, and hash brown potato cakes. I also ordered a side of bacon. While waiting for my meal a kind woman came over and told me that they were out of potato cakes and asked if I was fine with crispy breakfast potatoes and I agreed. My husband decided to try the sourdough toast with jam and the Huevos Ranchero Benedict which comes with poached eggs, pork, black beans, cotija and spiced hollandaise. The Avacado Toast was good. I've never tried it and it was a positive experience. I used a fork and knife to eat it. The avacado on the toast was fresh, the pickled onions and feta added flavor. The eggs on top of the avacado made the dish more filling. It came with cilantro on top but it wasn't listed on the menu and I don't like cilantro so I put it aside. The crispy breakfast potatoes were good but had very little flavor. They were crispy on the exterior and semi soft inside. I enjoyed mixing them up with the avacado that came off of my avacado toast for added flavor. I prefer breakfast potatoes to hash brown so it worked out. The bacon was good. I prefer crispy bacon but It was semi crispy and semi soft. The food had a good mix of textures. My husband enjoyed his breakfast and said that the hollandaise sauce was a little spicy but he didn't mind it. He said that the toast with jam was okay. I asked him what kind of jam it was and he said grape. Overall it was a good breakfast. The parking for us was easy, it has a nice atmosphere, the service was great and the food was good.

Stopped by for cocktails before a dinner reservation. The bar was a great vibe and the drinks were excellent. Looking forward to coming back!

The pecan cinnamon roll is to die for. Gooey, sweet, hot, cinnamon-y goodness. Check the pics. It tastes even better than it looks if that's possible. I have a feeling their brunch is about to take off since it's a fairly new addition to the east side and they are reasonably priced. Their eggs Benedict and blueberry French toast were also delicious. We enjoyed the side of hash brown cakes too. We arrived at 10:30 for an early brunch and it wasn't busy yet, so we had our pick of tables. The AC was great considering the summer heat. They also have a patio and bar area. Service was good and we enjoyed our visit.

Great service and really good vibes. Food is also solid. I'm vegetarian and they have good options. The white pizza is very good

We had a large group (11) come In here for dinner on a Saturday (with no reservation...) and second bar staff took such amazing care of our group. The inside downstairs is really beautiful and quirky Austin vibes or you can eat upstairs on the rooftop. They also have pool parties on Saturdays. I ordered the East side panini which was huge! I upgraded to the truffle fries and was a little disappointed in the quantity of the fries but they were delicious. Note if you eat at the rooftop it is bar service so you go into the bar and order yourself. For this reason I think it was too expensive, but we still loved our visit here for views, vibes, and amazing customer service by management.

Came in for a quick breakfast today, the food was good and the service was good. We got the burger and americano, both were great but wish the menu had a bit more to chose from. The menu said pizza coming soon so I will definitely come try when that is available! As for style and design, this place is so cute! Great decor and great furniture, almost begged them to let me buy an old rattan dining set they had!

There are so many reasons to love this place. They have delicious, creative, and moderately priced cocktails. The happy hour savings are significant. The evolving menu always has great dishes complemented by specials. Some stand outs are the decadent crab pansotti and the seared salmon. There are several great vegetarian dishes. The pizza crust is so flavorful and perfectly baked that you won't leave any on your plate. The bartenders (Cat and Caleb) are friendly and knowledgeable. Hanging out with them is a treat. There is a large bar and dining area downstairs but even better, there is an upstairs bar and deck on the second floor. While 6th street is overrun with people waiting in lines on Saturday nights, you can easily find a table and relax here.

I stopped in after a yoga class looking for a reading nook and warm drink, and this exceeded any expectations! The ambiance and vibe in here is so cute, I love the aesthetic. I ordered the dirty lover, which tasted like a spicy chai latte. I also got the maple croissant breakfast sandwich and I think it's the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! Fluffy egg, thick Swiss and layers of turkey between beautiful flaky mapley croissant. Heavenly. My waitress Gabby was super kind and gave great recommendations. I'll def be coming back here!

This place is beautiful! Great AC also. The theme and design of this place is very creative. We got welcomed with the best service and got sat right away. They told us about all the additional pool bars they have which sounded nice, but we elected to stay inside with the AC. We told the staff we just got engaged and they treated us to one of their signature vodka drinks. So freaking cute. We came here for some shareable's and we did just that! Food was great and couldn't have been happier. Great shareable spot, especially during their happy hour. We will absolutely be back as this experience was top level.

My wife and I came by for drinks and appetizers on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We had some great palomas, as well as some truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and shishito peppers. Our server (from Pittsburgh) was awesome! This place is very pretty inside and we really enjoyed coming in out of the heat to cool off during happy hour here. I've been to another location for Second Bar and Kitchen and this location was better all the way around, even if the menu was similar. We'll be back.

I loved this place! Every time we peeked in it wasn't very full and idk why! We stopped in around 8-9 for a snack and a cocktail and it was great! My martini was fantastic, and the fries were so perfectly crispy. The inside is so cute, I loved the tiled tables and the plants. The server was so friendly and even hooked us up with a phone charger while we were there. Definitely recommend it!

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

We're big fans of sitting at the bar if available, so we asked to switch and it was no problem. The main reason we came to Trona was due to a pop-up happening by Foodie + Tina. Excellent handrolls, crudo and even the chicory salad was amazing. The cocktails we tried were new to the menu as of this week and came with Christmas flair. They were good but not mind-blowing. The bartenders were super nice and easy to talk to. It was really dark which is normal for a speakeasy but as another reviewer suggested, makes it difficult to read the menu. One thing I noticed was they were burning white copal and it took me immediately to Tulum, MX - smells so good! Parking was easy, in an alley nearby. It might be helpful for customers if they had signage in/near the parking lot - we were unsure if we were in the right spot initially.
