The short: A cute Indian restaurant right off 22nd with cute elevator music, FANTASTIC naan, and good curry The longer: This place is hidden gem in downtown Ogden, I came here because I was curious and haven't seen this place before. One of my favorite parts about the atmosphere was elevator like music with the cute decor, had a lot of that old brick building vibe that Ogden is known for and it all work together pretty nicely. I don't particularly remember what care I got, but I got it with lamb and a hot level spice. I usually can hold my spice pretty well, but this push the limit on that, so for those out there, you will probably want something mild or lower as it was pretty intense, but really good! Now, for my favorite part, the naan was absolutely fantastic. Sometimes you get naan that is really dry and overcooked, but this one was soft buttery and added to the meal to an extreme level . And with it being downtown, you could eat here and walk anywhere in ogden. It's right next to the junction and everything on 25th St. All in all, I definitely recommend as there's not many places like this in the Ogden area. Whereas the food is good, Kesari Indian Kitchen is not exactly "good" on following instructions. The order was correctly written down, but I received the most mild Tikka Masala on the planet! I explicitly wanted "extra spicy" (as close to Phaal) that they could make. The restaurant said "no problem", and I ended up completely disappointed and unsatisfied. The best dish was the Indian Spicy Pickles in which I requested extra spicy (again) and they actually were. The Garlic Naan is a decent size portion and flavored perfectly. If you have children or just want an American dish, the Kids Curly Fries are delicious and come with ketchup. I wouldn't necessarily disregard this restaurant in the future, but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice again based on the weak Mushroom Tikka Masala. read more

We're so glad an Indian restaurant opened up in downtown Ogden. This location took over the old Even Steven's location, and it they did a fantastic job upgrading it to a takeout counter and back restaurant. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a table on a Thursday night. Shortly after we were seated, we ordered samosas, lamb saag (mild), chicken tikka masala (medium) and garlic naan. We also opted for a couple of mango lassis to drink. The food came out quickly and all at once. This place does not skimp on their spices! The samosa filling had a kick, and the lamb saag had a big spice kick over the chicken tikka masala. Everything was so tasty and we left full and with leftovers. Excellent Indian restaurant in the heart of Ogden, an area that needs some good dinner choices. The menu has a lot of options for Tandor items as well as several types of Curry. On this visit we tried the Tikka Masala and the Korma. While we ordered the Tikka Masala "mild", it was very spicy. The Korma was ordered "medium" and wasn't spicy at all, so they may have mixed the heat levels. The Korma was some of the most aromatic and flavorful I have experienced and I'm looking forward to trying the lamb next visit. We tried the Vegetable Pakora and Chicken Momos for appetizers and they were great. I'm not sure I've had Pakora that good anywhere else on the Wasatch Front. Pricing is on par with other Indian restaurants and the quantity is enough to fill you up and send you home with leftovers. We look forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu! read more

Driving through Ogden and found this wonderful spot. Had the butter paneer and chicken tikka lunch specials. They come with main dish, vegetable curry, pakora, curry yogurt, and naan. I think it is a nice restaurant in a great location. We only did take out, but the seating looks nice from a peek. The food is on spicy side though. If you want medium, you should really tell them mild, and for mild perhaps you have to say no spice at all. We ordered twice and each time our food was quite spicy. I am sure it is flavorful, but just spicy. They also have momo, which is a treat. But it looks like maybe they good potstickers from Costco or Asian market and cooked it. So, don't expect traditional steamed northern Indian/Tibetan dumplings. I am not saying it is not good, just be aware of what to expect. For the service, it might depend on who. One server seems better than the other or others. But, it was not bad either. Overall, if you know the spice profile and know what to order, it is a decent place. read more

This restaurant was very tasty! Service was great. Their menu has a lot of options, but I went with a typical Korma Curry to see how their curries stack up compared to other restaurants. The curry was amazing. The texture and depth of flavors was addicting. The cauliflower appetizer was crispy, tasty, with a little bit of spice. The flavor of the food was fantastic. The naan was soft, airy, and buttery and the seasoning in the curry I got (lamb tikka) was very good. However, the lamb chunks in the tikka were put in very sparingly. The curry was also very thin, but that's a stylistic choice that is something I don't prefer but some people do. We started with samosas which had a spinach filling, different from the vegetable filled ones but equally as delicious. I went with chicken korma and my husband boldly went for a chicken vindaloo which he ordered hot. Both of the dishes were absolutely amazing with so much flavor and both were very spicy. We always order our food hot and are frequently disappointed but not here! We also enjoyed some mango lassis. The staff were wonderful and they stayed busy between people dining in and to-go orders. I've been craving butter chicken so we went to dinner at Kesari Indian Kitchen in Ogden at Washington and 22nd St. We had the Shanghai shrimp appetizer, chicken Tikka Masala, the chicken butter masala, and garlic naan bread. I loved the garlic naan bread! It was puffy and soft, but had a nice crispness at the same time. The rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Both the chicken dishes were excellent. The chicken was still soft (not overcooked). The sauce had a great flavor. The only thing negative to say is that we ordered mild spice level (because we are wimps) and it still had some kick. Stopped by in recently opened Kesari Indian Kitchen. They took over the Even Stephen's sandwich shop on Washington Ave. My wife and I each tried one of the lunch specials. Her the Chicken Tikka Masala, and I the Lamb Masala. The lunch special comes with a main curry, and a couple side curries or dal dishes, along with basmati rice, naan, and a small dessert. All of the curries were quite good. Not sure if we could have asked for spice levels or not, I would have liked a little more heat. But all were flavorful. We also ordered the samosas appetizer. These were incredible, perhaps the best samosas I've had out at a restaurant in a long long time. My only quibble with the lunch specials is that the amount of the main curry you get is on the small side. My lamb masala had four bite-sized pieces of lamb. The amount of sauce was good for dipping naan, but I would have liked more lamb. My wife's order of the chicken tikka was much the same. Not a lot of chicken. Next time, we plan on ordering main entrees, not the special, and getting those delicious samosas again. read more

Beautiful interior! Welcoming and warm. Casual, but feels a little upscale and romantic. First rate service. I recommend the Kasari Kofta on the Signature dishes. Very complex and full of favors. The sauce had almonds, peas, raisins and cashews. The kofta was soft and light, full of vegetables and potatoes. Absolute delight. We heard Kasari's was a little on the spicy but we found that not to be accurate. We requested medium heat for the Kofta and Butter chicken but found both dishes to be fairly mild. I was so excited when I saw that, so I had to go check it out! It was SO GOOD! I was brave and didn't just order my go to lamb Korma, and I loved the new to me dish I tried! Everything we ordered had amazing flavors! We started with the Dal Soup and the Samosas. The soup tasted like the inside of the samosa, which was delicious. For the main course, my friend had the Afgani Chicken. It was a simple dish of yellow rice and chicken with a great flavor. I had Kasari Kofta. I highly recommend this dish! I'm not one for spice, so I order zero spice, but the flavor was so good in this dish. Of course, you have to have garlic naan along with it. I also tried the pineapple Raita, it is like a dipping sauce that is super refreshing. I actually ended up mixing it with the kofta when I ate my leftovers and OMG, so good! For sure go check this one out, but be prepared to wait for a table. It is a small place with amazing food. It was packed right at dinner opening (5:00 on a Tuesday).
