    Combo plate 3
    Matt S.

I thought the food was pretty good. We ordered the combo platter 3 and 4 and extra garlic naan. The garlic naan is the best. The dishes were fairly runny but had good flavors. They were really busy but the guys working were going as fast as they could. Next time I'd just order something off the regular menu and not off the combo. Some of the items on the combo I did not care for. The veggie things I didn't like. I'd like to stop here again and try some of their other menu items.

Order: Garlic naan Butter naan Lamb coconut korma (mild) Lamb curry (mild) Chicken curry (spicy) Mango lassi Fresh & piping hot. We went for dinner and it did not disappoint! Lamb in the Korma and curry were so tender and full of flavor. A great amount of meat in it. Chicken curry did not disappoint my mom she loved every bit of it. Rice was perfect. Both naans had so much flavor, so soft, a good size and cooked to perfection. Great bold spices and flavors that complimented each other so well. The mango lassi was amazing! As if I was eating ripe fresh mango right off the tree itself. If you know you know what I'm talking about. The service/host was so welcoming and kind. Such a good vibe! 10/10 will go back again.

Chicken samosas with the best fresh mint chutney! I'm already heading back to get this tomorrow

Love the staff for getting me my food fix when they weren't technically open. And it was delish. The owner? personally made me chicken Samos instead of asking me to come back- which I was willing to do but he went out of his way to serve me. Stop eating and taking his work break to help me out.

Chicken tikka masala and butter naan go, ~$17.50 before tip.

Picture is Chicken Tikka Masala and butter naan to-go containers, about ~$17.50 before tip. I ordered ahead and was given a 5 to 20 minute wait estimate for my food. I thought this was a strangely variant range, but then they did not start it until I arrived anyway. Upon arriving I went through the normal line and then they just scoop it off the buffet line. I'm glad they waited to scoop it because it stayed hot longer, but there was not in immediately recognizable benefit created by ordering ahead. The Dixie plate was fairly standard, though the plasticware was a little bit flimsy and cheap. I don't feel like I got $17.50 worth of food to be frank. If the Buffet were not by pound, I would come get the buffet probably every week. I don't know if they have done a trade study on the cost analysis of this or not, but if they increased the Buffet price from $11.99/lb to like $15/unlimited, I would probably come back often. But for now, I am unlikely to come again due to price and quantity. Customer pool was very low during my lunchtime visit. There were not a huge selection of buffet options available, which may be reactive to the low turnout. Restaurant was clean during my visit. :-) The staff was polite during my visit. :-) The food tasted goods :-) I did have an honest difficulty understanding the host while trying to order due to language barrier. Mild inconvenience.

The chicken curry was good but for $18 lunch for just a bowl of curry seems high. This includes tip.

I'm not a huge fan of Indian flavors, and so I don't typically choose Indian food, but the invitation from our friends who really love it was the perfect opportunity to open our palette a bit more. And I have to say, I have a feeling that this was the perfect place to try Indian food, since most of the time, when someone doesn't like a certain food, it's usually because they've never had it prepared correctly or well. I wanted to be a tad bit adventurous with Indian cuisine without sacrificing my butthole and the Saag Shorba soup was the perfect place to venture. I had no idea what this soup was but man it was very very delicious. I am not even sure what the spice concoction was, but it was heavenly. Then my husband and I split an entree of butter chicken because I knew that would also be safe for us white people who don't need to sit through Jurassic park with a burnt tongue or upset tummy. And it was very delicious. I love foods that are super flavorful without being overpowered by the heat that spices can sometimes bring. The jasmine rice that came with it was lightly seasoned and sooo good when slathered with the saucy butter chicken. We also got a side of garlic naan which was obviously a must. And everything together just hit the spot in my tummy that I didnt even know Indian food could deliver for me. We also ordered a mango yogurt drink. I didnt know that it had yogurt, so my initial reaction to it was that it seemed too warm to be a mango smoothie for how thick it was. But once I realized that it was supposed to be not freezing, my brain made better sense of it. It was very delicious. The host and servers were all super kind, and helped steer us away from dishes that would have been TOO spicy adventurous for us (like the lamb vindaloo). The seating was very nice. Super clean, and served water in stemware. It gives a more upscale, intimate vibe that was really nice for being on a double date with best friends and not having a grip of kids with us like we normally do. I still don't know how much I will personally ever crave Indian food. But I reckon if there ever was a place to make me seek it out, Red Fort will be the culprit.

The staff has been quick to seat us and attentive throughout both dining experiences. (We were there early before the dinner rush on both occasions.) We had the vegetable samosas, naan, garlic naan, chicken tandoori, masala (chicken tikka on our first visit and paneer on the second) and saag paneer--all were delicious. We asked for medium heat and our food had a just-right kick, but not too hot to be enjoyable. Perfect!

Let's start with the atmosphere, this place is amazingly mom and pop and charmingly decorated. Unlike the place up the road, you don't feel like you're in a restaurant that used to be SOMETHING else. Then the food. We started with vegetable samosas and they came out quick, hot, and delicious. Two were enough for us but I wished I could have had more. For my main, I got the butter lamb done as hot as they could make it, while my guest had the chicken tikka masala at medium. I love super spicy and was not disappointed, it caused some serious forehead sweat but wasn't panic inducing. The food was all served hot, fresh, and had amazing flavor. It came paired with basmati rice that was also fresh and aromatic. On the side we tried the roti and the fresh garlic naan and were not disappointed at either, but have to say the puffy and flaky naan was hands down the best side of the evening. I never once had to wait for a drink refill and was treated extremely well by the wait staff. Do yourself a favor and come support local Indian food in your community, you won't be disappointed!

There was also a ton of incense burning everywhere (not advertised online), so I won't come back. The naan was good, but didn't remind me of normal naan. It was just a flat, oily bread, in my opinion. It was the best part of the meal. The Chana masala was mid, as was the rice. Neither were anything special, and the rice was not just plain rice like at a lot of other places. The lady talked me down from spice level 5 to 4, but I'm glad that she accidentally put it in as a 5 (judging by the receipt). I'm a habanero person, and I need to stop listening to people who talk me down. I still needed to add habanero flakes. If I ever go back, I'd get it a level 6 (above the normal scale). The hot sauce they gave me had no discernible spice whatsoever and just tasted like mango. I don't recommend asking for that unless you like mild/no-spice liquidy mango sauce. All in all, it's a mid restaurant with a lot of incense everywhere. It's not BAD food and the portions are great, but I've had far better. There's another Indian place basically across the street which may or may not have better food--I haven't been.
