We were here recently for dinner & I was very much disappointed in the service. It felt as though things were being brought out at different times (party of 5) we weren't that large of a group nor was it too crowded to warrant the spotty service we got. We all ordered our entrees & it seemed like our waiter (wears glasses) was a little impatient with us and kinda asked "do y'all need a minute?" As if he was trying to leave. We ordered all flavors naan, spinach onion pakora, diff curries. Waited a bit for food to come out. Spinach onion pakora comes out first, slowly followed by the rice and curries. I kept looking at our waiter to see where the naan was - but he was walking around as if he was too busy to address it. We were prob half way done before the naan even made it out. This was our first visit to this restaurant. This place is pretty plain without a bunch of decor. We had our choice of tables when we arrived. Our server brought us water and took our drink order. We both had iced tea which is served in a bottle. Nothing fancy here a simple menu of seafood, chicken, lamb and vegetable dishes. My wife ordered the chicken tikka masala while I ordered the shrimp bhuna chili. We also ordered garlic naan and samosa. The samosa was great with a very fresh taste. The naan was also very good. My wife really liked her chicken tikka and my shrimp was great. Nice and spicy with lots of shrimp. So I recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the area give them a try. Too much curry they put & im not a curry lover that much. Majority of their foods are made with curry & unless you're a curry lover then this place is for you. Secondly, they shouldn't charge you for soft drinks when you're paying for your meals like a lot of places I've been too, they include your drinks with your meals & you can have as much soft drinks as you like. We hadn't been back to Sitara for quite a while and I wanted to give them another shot. A man cannot have enough Indian Restaurants (or any locally owned restaurants) in the rotation. We had 8 of us in our party on a Sunday night and the service was excellent. We were well attended to and the staff took good care of us throughout the visit. We tried several different things and at differing spice levels. The Lamb Korma, the Buttered Chicken, and the Chicken Tikka Masala were all hits. The spice levels were distinctively different and you weren't left wondering what level that was. Excellent. We had plain and garlic naan as well, and they were done masterfully. Great experience and I am glad we gave it another visit. Looking forward to a trip back here in the near future for more great food at affordable pricing. read more

What a spot! We came here about an hour before closing and were the only pair dining in. I LOVE Bombay house in SLC and this place is up to par! We were blown away. A true gem, especially in the rapidly gentrifying Ogden. We love Indian food, and have tried almost every Indian restaurant offered in Salt Lake, Park City and the Wasatch front. This place blows Ganesh (our local spot) out of the water, it is on par, if not better in many ways, than our favorite (Bombay House on Parley's way). We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Paneer, Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi, Coffee and Chai. All incredible! Sitara is as authentic as it gets (unlike it's gentrified counterparts in the area, start-up's just looking to make $$), we will be back when we are in Ogden! read more

Hard to write this but honestly we had terrible service at this place. The food is good but you have to actually get it in a decent amount of time. For some moronic reason they have two ways to order food for dine in and trust me don't use the mobile ordering from your table because your waiter will forget your food. Took 30 min longer than the table by us that ordered at the same time. What was not good is some of the staff arguing with you when you just inquire why it's taking so long. Food 2.5 stars tops but I had the worst customer service experience of my life here. I was lied to and insulted. Here's what happened. 2/22/2022 Togo order: - Raita yogurt was old & watery. It had chunks in it, & the flavor was diluted. The vegetables in it were minimal. It was more like an extended soup than a yogurt. -Chicken Korma. The chicken was overcooked. Hard, and dry. Sorry guys, the sauce can't cover that up! The sauce seemed diluted as well as the flavor was weak. -Naan bread was dense, soggy, & spongey. -Mango Lassi had no ice in it yet was watery and diluted so not much flavor. 2/23/2022: Called management & spoke to "Steven" & politely let him know about the Yogurt & Korma mainly. He cut me off midway saying curtly & w/ attitude "Well what do you want me to do about it??" I was stunned to hear a manager speak this way. I paused & asked him the same thing "I don't know? As the customer what do you want ME to do about it?" He hung up abruptly. I called back 3 times & it was intentionally disconnected. On the 4th time "Steven" answered w/ a fake "hello." I gave him the benefit of the doubt & mentioned we must've had a bad connection. He coyly agreed w/ an overly fake tone in his voice & so, I cut to the chase abruptly & asked "Did you hang up on me?" He broke down & admitted he did, then proceeded to explain to me this was his last day there & he's "so over this place." That choice of verbiage inclined me to ask if he was a student. "Yes." At this point I identified that I was dealing w/ a young & inexperienced individual so, forgave him. He "apologized" for his behavior etc. & proceeded to ask what I wanted done. I took on HIS PAYING ROLE of manager, & explained that usually what happens in a case like this is either a refund or to make good on the previous order as the purpose is to demonstrate to the PAYING CUSTOMER that their future business is wanted & to show them they can do better as the "bad order" isn't up to their standards either. Instead, he hands me over to a nice woman. She was the owner (or one of). She asked me what happened. I explained again about the order & reported his behavior. She didn't seem to know who "Steven" was but realized who I was talking about after further explanation. She acknowledged the problems w/ my food and explained that the yogurt wasn't mixed before serving me so it sat there making the solids go to the bottom and the liquid to the top. She said very warmly that next time I come NOT TO WORRY she'll "take care of me personally." I asked her to clarify what "take care of me" meant & she said to speak to her personally & order whatever I wanted & she would take care of me. 2-24-2022 I called to reorder. "Steven" picks up the phone & I identify myself & asked to speak with the lady like I was told. He greets me with a big fake "HEEEYYYYYYY! Hold on..." then I hear him yell "IT'S THAT GUY FROM YESTERDAY." After waiting for a bit, a new man speaks to me & asks me what I was calling about in an already hostile manner. He too didn't know who "Steven" was & at this point I'm annoyed I have to explain AGAIN the situation & I'm given the impression by him that this is a biased encounter. Instead of his mom, he INSISTS he deals w/ me so, I reorder the same thing but he cuts me off asking "Wait, are you expecting to get this free??" At this point frustration is becoming irritation. I paid $25 for disgusting food, I'm being mishandled and lied to by "MANAGEMENT" & something foul besides the food is amiss. "Yes, naturally." I answered & reinstated that the owner told me she'd take care of my next order personally & not to worry. He proceeds to tell me that HE'S "The owner & they're not going to honor that." I asked "You're THE owner?" Then says the woman is his mother & she doesn't speak english very well (She seemed fine to me, but if not why was the phone handed to her in the 1st place?). This son is just as young as the "manager" & obviously "Steven" represented the story falsely and they're buddying up. As if this wasn't bad enough, he proceeds to INSULT me now, telling me "Steven" told him his side of it & that I "talked too much." So already he's taking a stance & putting me in a position of the problematic 1 before even listening! Now, I understand I'm giving a detailed review right now, but initially I didn't "talk too much." It was a simple order complaint (Pretty standard stuff!) which was acknowledged by Mommy. I mentioned to the son that he heard "Steven's" side which seem to be fabrications to cover for himself but if he bothered asking me, the customer, he'd get the real truth. So I told him... He then rages to me that we've been on the phone for 6 minutes. I retorted "So you had the time to listen to 'Steven' all last night, but 6min w/ me to reorder the meal, report Steven, & recite your Mom's promise is too much?... I was insulted, lied to, spat upon & promises were broken...& BTW, "Steven" STILL works there. Liar! ;) read more

Indian food -- and good Indian food at that -- has often been a little pricey for its value in Utah. My guess is because it's a niche cuisine for the predominant culture. Sitara dances past the common belly-undulating schtick and goes right for delectable, authentic-tasting Indian food at a terrific price. The real deal here is the buffet, where there are always new and fresh dishes every day, it seems, depending on the season. For $8 or so you will get largely vegetarian dishes, but a couple chicken or lamb masalas or curries from which you can also choose. Wrap it all up in na'an bread served fresh and hot to your table. There's a menu, too, from which you can order, whether for your full meal or for extras not on the buffet -- like a potato or meat stuffed bread paratha, samosa dumplings, or a mango lassi to drink. (That said, the buffet is well rounded, delicious, filling, and tremendous quality for the price.) Location could be a bit better, and it's not uncommon for lunch to be very busy. (It's an amazing choice for a Sunday lunch.) That said, it is WONDERFUL to see a restaurant is this area of Ogden that seems to be staying busy and doing well. Oh, this was painful. I mean actual pain. My gut was extremely displeased shortly after eating here. Unfortunately, I decided to give the buffet a shot so that I could try several of their dishes. Everything was terribly overcooked, some things that should have had a crunchy breading were mushier than snow cones on a hot summer's day. The naan was fairly decent at least and the prices were pretty good. But my stomach forbids me to ever visit this place again. Randomly stumbled on this place and was pleasantly surprised. The food is awesome and flavorful. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the lamb coconut curry, both were delicious and some of the best I've had, and I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Utah. Their coffee is also very delicious and comes in your own little pot enough for 3 cups. The inside is plain, so don't expect high end decor, it's more like "hole in the wall" type of place :) The waiter and host were both super friendly. Will definitely come again! read more
