This guy and his crew are so amazing. He took my vehicle and made sure that it was fixed so that it ran in the right way. There were two other issues I wanted him to look at. I wanted an idea of their cost and I didn't have much extra money this month but now I know exactly what they're gonna cost me. I was in the middle of a move, which made this so much more difficult One of the issues he came up with a simple solution that doesn't fix it, but it made it better. I have a girlfriend that's younger with two kids that went there to get some help for overfilling her car with oil .., he was amazing with her as well I absolutely adore this guy so kind actually very funny. And very honest. I actually don't trust anybody else to work on my car but him and his crew. When you refer a young, single mother to somebody, you worry a little bit. The owner Kevin told me he would look at my truck if I dropped it off, held the truck for 3 days and never gave me a diagnosis like I requested. He then calls me and said I'm leaving town for 3 weeks but you can pick up the truck from my guys at the shop Sunday, when I showed up during business hours on Sunday he had a giant spray painted sign that says CLOSED Return August 6th. Which my truck is locked up on his property without my consent. Stay FAR FAR AWAY from this horrible business practice. Never bring your vehicle here I brought my 2009 range Rover here to fix the same exact issue he did a year ago and that was brake pads rotors and caliper only issue I had was it kept grinding so after the second time having him work on I got my truck back even worse my brake lines are pouring out brake fluid and he says he has nothing to do with that before I brought it to him my brakes worked had compression in the pedals no leaks just grinding noise on one side... About 90% of his cars he works on he takes cash so he doesn't have to charge taxes... He won't be around for too long if he keeps scamming people read more

My car broke down in DT Tacoma, would not start and I smelled gas, so I got my Dodge Caravan towed to KEVIN'S AUTO REPAIR in Hilltop. I actually believe we worked with Kevin and he recognized the issue before the Van got off the tow truck. He had it put in one of the empty bays and worked on it right away and was able to resolve the issue in 30 mins, or less!! Because he said the issue was not that difficult to resolve the repair cost less than the tow, and the tow was only 60 dollars!! We moved out of state and was able to drive my 20+ year vehicle over 1200 miles with no problem and still runs strong. I took my 1997 Toyota RAV 4 in to fix an egr Valve diagnosis from another shop. I Chose this shop because Kevin was recommended by a friend who had used him six years ago and was pleased with the quality and price. I paid a fair price but the work was not right. Six times I went back and every time the next day the engine light would come on! An expensive time game and fix necessary for Tacoma emissions tests. I then had to move cities and the light ws still on and the egr not fixed. Kevin said he tested the car on the highway and never wanted to keep the car on his lot to ensure his work was right the next day. He also was never available by phone. I had to drive to his shop before work with a friend hoping he was available that day. Also seemed reluctant to give me a detailed work summary- kind of shady. If you have a very simple job he'd be fine. Anything more than an oil change then look elsewhere. read more

We used to go to Kevin for all of our mechanic needs, bc we've known him so long and always got discounts with him, but his work recently has been awful... On one of or cars he did an engine swap, he ended up charging us more than originally discussed, shortened the warranty period on it, and overall left a bad taste in our mouths. His garage cracked my timing cover, made the housing too tight so that it was almost impossible to check my oil, and somehow there was a gas leak to where the front of the engine caught fire. No one was injured, thank goodness, but that's only the beginning. The door handles were already loose, so we told him, be gentle with them, but they weren't, they caused the doors to seize, so I had to get a work around to even get in and out of the car. We put so much money into this car and now the only thing we can do is junk it... read more

Thursday AM as I'm leaving for work my car decides to die on me. Of course a feeling a dread comes over me. I live in the Central Tacoma area and was overwhelmed off the bat with all the options. I knew I wanted to support a small business all while getting my car repaired quickly! I found Kevin's Auto Repair on google. Not only did it have great reviews but it was really close to where I live! I called around 9:30 AM and even though they were busy he told me bring my car in no problem! by the next morning he called me to tell me it was the Mass Airflow Sensor and it would be $180 + tax. I was so relieved it wasn't going to gut my savings and it would be ready that afternoon! I work long shifts at the hospital and wouldn't be off until after they closed. He was understanding and held my car until the next morning! My car is driving a lot better, I saved some $ and Kevin was awesome! I will continue to take my car here in the future. I'm taking this maggot to court. This is nothing but a junk mechanic. I'm the dumb one for going. No respectable mechanic would have there place looking that way. This is a 3rd world mechanic that does nothing but lie. He can't be trusted and his workers can't either. I will also be contacting the better business Bureau. He would not give me receipts for work that he day he did on my car. He has had my car on 25 different occasions and hadn't fixed anything yet but he has my 800 bucks. I will be getting all of my money back and he will also be fined for not giving me my receipts. I hope to get this maggot closed down. When you work on a car and someone pays you the car has to be fixed. Not just worked on. This idiot doesn't understand that but he'll understand this subpoena. He always want you to get your car before he closes because he know he hasn't fixed it. read more

horrible, all smiles and customer service seems great, but the actual mechanical job is junk, used to be ok when he would only do my car's oil change but when it came to actual engine worked he totalled my car, and after almost 2k charge and a month with the car, he couldnt find the issue to repair, took it to a different mechanic turns out, they had put in some pieces wrong and at the end the other mechanic charge very little to fix what this people couldnt, dont recommend it. read more
