First time at Kevins yesterday and it was amazing! It has a cool upscale vibe in what used to be the old Bell Telephone building from what I understand. We started off with their fresh bread & olive oil mix and it was fantastic. Then we moved on to the Chile Lime Shrimp appetizer with coconut rice which was amazing too. House salads were fresh and tasty. Then we moved on to the main course and had the Veal Schnitzel which was fresh breaded tender veal and carrots. We also had the Baked Short Ribs Bolognese. The short ribs tasted like they were done in a red wine base & the pasta sauce was a delicious light marinara. We finished off with a Vanilla Creme Brûlée. Everything was amazing as well as the service where the waitresses and waiters all pitch in at our table. Highly recommended! read more

Brought my Girlfriend here for a birthday dinner & we couldn't have picked a better place. We made early reservations (6:30pm) and were glad we did as the restaurant filled up as our dinner progressed. Our service was stellar throughout & the timing of table service was spot on. We started with the Passionfruit Poached Shrimp Cocktail & Butternut Squash Bisque - both AWEsome! Salads were fresh, too! Main courses were Long Island Duck and Ginger & Soy Salmon - mouthwatering! Dessert was awesome as well. Atmosphere was modern, yet a bit retro - you can tell the restaurant reuses an existing building. We visited for date night on a Saturday. We had reservations, which I do recommend as the place was pretty busy. I love the brick and the industrial chic feel of this place. It's tucked away behind the Fidelity bank on Wyoming Avenue but not hard to find. Parking in front is limited; however, there is more parking in the back. The food was amazing! I had the veal scallopini that was topped with spicy peppers, capers, mushrooms and a white wine sauce the flavors came together so well! My fiancé had the salmon, which he loved. The drinks were unique and very tasty. The vanilla bean cheesecake and creme brulee for dessert were so creamy and easily some of the best I've had. Highly recommend!! read more

This is an update to my previous review of Kevin's. Two words... Very Disappointed. I have previously said that Kevin's was hands down the best restaurant in the area. I have truly loved this place. Things have seemed to change and not for the better. We haven't been in for a while due to COVID and we were really looking forward to a good meal. I was initially impressed by the procedures they took for COVID safety. Very clean and excellent social distancing. Then came the meal... I must first say, the oysters were outstanding and we were very happy. The restaurant was clean and not busy at all. We went to dinner around five so as to avoid any dinner crowd. My wife order the grouper special and I ordered the burger. I asked to have it cooked closer to the well side as I don't care for lightly cooked ground beef, regardless of the quality of the beef. It came medium rare. Wasn't what I asked for but I ate it anyway without a word. (Fries were great.) We never send things back...until now My wife's grouper special came very undercooked. She doesn't normally send anything back, ever. However, given the price, I insisted that she ask to have it done to a more appropriate temperature. We asked kindly and with much humility explaining that it wasn't the chef's fault. When it came back the grouper had burnt pieces and was placed back on top of the other items of the dish that were now cold. Same fish on the same plate. Not even re-dressed. We thought the chef either didn't know how to handle items sent back or it was a big FU to my wife for asking it to be prepared to a different temperature. Keep in mind the burnt piece of something right on top (see the picture). Later in the meal the manager Billy came to the table and asked if we needed anything. He was gracious and very helpful. We informed him of my wife's meal and he kindly removed the dish from our bill. We told him he didn't have to do that but he insisted. He was very kind. Dessert was very good. Some of the best creme brûlée we have ever had (and we've had it many many places). Also the dark chocolate lava cake was surprisingly good. The oysters and the desserts are the ONLY reason we are giving two stars and that may be kind. Not certain. read more

Another amazing fine dining restaurant in the 18704 owned by the Friedman group hospitality. Their food is delicious and the service is phenomenal. With a very cool atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor dining. Plus, there are murals painted in the area that you can enjoy during dinner or after dinner thanks to the Street Art Society of NEPA, you can enjoy public art before or after your meal. They are located in walking distance from Wyoming Seminary upper school. read more

Got the calamari for the table to share and was not impressed. No flavor there at all and the small bowl of sauce that came with it was bland . We had to ask for lemon to give it some flavor. Just as others say my food was undercooked. I also brought my 5 year old son with me and we ordered the chicken tenders with fries for him. When they were served I started to cut it up for him so it would cool down faster and the entire inside was raw. My steak I asked for medium and I received rare. Great location with a simple well executed menu. French onion soup and zuchinni fritters were both fantastic. Definitely a lot of good flavors on the app menu. We ordered a halibut and veal for mains. Incosistant cook on the vegetables but overall well executed dishes that deliver the flavors you expect with no surprises. A Friday Night Takeout at the beginning of a dinner rush ... and everything was amazing.

This is a great place for drinks which was our main reason for going. The drinks were well-made. I had the St. Germaine and a Manhattan. My friend had the Sangria and another specialty drink. I liked the variety on the drink menu. I had a hard time choosing, which is almost never the case, and the fact that the drinks weren't too sweet or too boozy. Again, they were well-made. My friend and I both went light for food. It's great that they have such a selection of appetizers and small plates. I had a house salad and the red beet hummus appetizer. I loved the red beet hummus, and I appreciated that it was something I can't get anywhere. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and our waitress was great. It took us a long time to order the drinks and then the food, and she was patient and gracious. She was also helpful when we had questions and asked for recommendations. read more

Went with a friend last night we both had the 5 course South American inspired preset dinner with wine pairings. Each course was executed perfectly, portions were perfect size and the wines worked well! It was very mushy and tasted like it was two days old. Needless to say it was a disappointment. However, the table made Ceaser salad was excellent as was the waiting service. I enjoy the atmosphere inside the restaurant, it was really clean and had a laid back ambiance to it, also the staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't get a chance to drink at the bar, but when I went over to see the options ... man was it loaded. They have a lot of drinks available that you can't find even in the stores. I only have one problem with Kevin's and that's the pricing. I paid $38 plus tax for a halibut dinner and it was small. For the portion size of the meal it should of been $20-$22 or less. It was served over a bed of basmati rice with a small helping of broccoli. The halibut and broccoli was great tasting, but the rice was just ok. If price and small portion size isn't an issue for you, then I highly recommend Kevin's restaurant. Giving this 3 out of 5 because of the price per portion size. read more

Not only is this an awesome place for great seafood, steaks and appetizers BUT having a baby shower here was spectacular !! The food was superb as well as the service and amenities. Young and old loved the food selection. Chicken Parmesan , hangar steak, mashed potatoes and penne pasta with vodka sauce was the absolute BEST!! Appetizers were amazing. You will not regret your choice here. Seating for 75 was perfect and could easily handled a few more. The display shower in the room on the side worked out great. read more

We went twice with a large group particularly to have the $1 oysters. Service was good but the oysters were almost minuscule. Definitely not worth it. We were looking for somewhere like the old Doc McGrogans that used to have "buck a shuck". We had onion soup that was served lukewarm and all of the entrees were, "meh". Went Saturday nite last minute decision and booked thru Opentable 6:30 res. When we arrived I commented to my wife how the changed things since our last visit. We approach hostess and said we made an reservation on Opentable and she said oh we don't check for those? Lucky it was early and not too busy so we were able to be seated. Drinks as always excellent. Clams were dry and tasteless As was Caesar salad and I bit into a crouton that broke a tooth it was so hard. Veal Saltimbocca was highlife of the meal albeit a tiny almost small plate size. Wife enjoyed her meal of puff pastry crab something. Will never visit again the whole dinner took almost 3 hrs. Service was horrible. Found hair in the food. The waitress was in no rush to get anything done nor could she keep the orders straight. It took an hr for them to put bread out, 1.5 hours just to be served salads and appetizers, those were mixed up w missing servings. Their excuse was because they were having an Octoberfest, which they were not even busy. The manager left early so we couldn't even talk to him. It's sad because the cook staff did a decent job (except for the hair), when the food finally did come out. I blame it squarely on the waitress and manager for the horrible experience. read more

The staff of this restaurant cleary has neither regard nor respect for their customers. Shocking, considering without customer, there is no business. During a recent visit to Kevin's, my three dinining companions and I waited 90 minutes to receive our entrees. In addition, after we finished dinner and our plates were cleared, we waited another HALF HOUR for our bill. This all came after the servers spilled a martini AND olive oil on me. The saddest part of this dining debacle is that no one apologized for the wait for dinner, the wait for the bill or the spills. This staff demonstrated copmplete apathy. I had high expectations from Kevin's and I was not disappointed. My visit was early (5:30) on a Saturday night with my parents. We had reservations but they were not needed and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. I thought, "uh oh, a dead restaurant on a Saturday night" but the server even mentioned that it will be crowded by 7 and he was correct. The restaurant has a modern industrial feel and I was told by my mother who grew up in the area that it was a paint production facility when she was a young girl. Our server was John and he was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable about the menu and had that nights specials memorized. You could tell from the way he presented himself and the menu that he was genuinely excited and passionate about the food and his job. A great deviation from the typical annoyed and/or uninformed server. He honestly took Kevin's from a 4/5 to a 5/5 on the review scale and should be the benchmark for what a good server is. On to the food, I started with the soup de jour, a chilled strawberry bisque. It was perfect and hit the spot on a warm evening. It was sweet yet brought out the tartness in the berries with what I believe was an infusion of yogurt. A nice light start to the meal. Salads came with the meal and their freshly prepared cashew dill dressing complemented the field greens and ripe tomatoes perfectly. For the entrees, I ordered the house specialty 22 day dry aged NY strip, my mother had the crab cakes and my father ordered the veal parmigiana. This is honestly one of the best, most perfectly cooked steaks in NEPA. The dry aging added a depth of flavor I've never encountered and the degree of doneness was perfect at medium-rare. They clearly let the steak rest after grilling as the juices were reincorporated and did not run across my plate. It does come with a very unique sauce. This usually indicates that they're trying to hide something but in this case, it was a very fine drizzle on about 1/4 of the steak and onto the plate for dipping. Once again, a home run. I sampled my mother's crab cakes and they were lump meat through and through with minimal filler. Very similar to the best crab cakes in Maryland (G&M Seafood if you ask me). Plated with a nice remoulade. The veal parm was pounded very thin and the portion was huge. I did not sample but my father said it was very good. Overall, Kevin's was a great experience for me and I've already recommended it to a few of my friend who appreciate great food. read more
