You wanted our review on the satisfaction of our service from your dealership Northwest Chevrolet…read moreof Bellingham dated June 26, 2024. Well here it goes, we have been loyal customers since we purchased our vehicle in 2021. Your shop has done all of our GM service until NOW!!! On June 26th 2024 we dropped our car off for service. The next day you informed us our car needed a new transmission and you need to keep it to check the fuel injectors. At that time we were told the car had to stay on the lot until fixed. On Monday, July 1st at 8 AM you called to inform us that there had been an accident with our vehicle and the firefighters were currently putting the fire out. We arrived on the scene minutes later and our car was toast. We were told that there was a huge mechanic error and they had left our fuel line disconnected and didn't put a DO NOT START sticker on our steering wheel or disconnect the battery, as per safety protocol. Our family was hopeful that Owner, Xavier Cortes would be a man of his word (per radio station adds and billboards around town) so we stayed calm and tried to figure out what steps to take next. The Mechanic Manager kept thanking us for being so calm and that he felt Xavier would rectify their shop's mistake, in the end we would be taken care of.... He stated he has worked there for 25 years and nothing like this has ever happened. A month later still no word from the owner himself and no answers, we demanded a meeting.... While in this meeting he mixed our story up with someone else's situation that occurred from their shop. He had no idea who we were or why we were So upset. After a few minutes of talking circles, we look at him and said "YOUR COMPANY BLEW UP OUR FAMILY CAR." All we wanted was a comparable vehicle with the same payment and mileage. Xavier at that time informed us that the situation was the same as if we were driving down the road and totaled our vehicle and that he cannot promise us any reassurance that we would be okay. He then stated "that is why he has insurance". He is not responsible for his mechanic's negligence. We were then directed to the general manager to figure out a replacement vehicle. We learned that our vehicle choice was not in fact ours to choose and we were limited to what they could find at an Auction. When we did go look at a vehicle they found at auction it had 25,000 more miles than ours, they would not tell us the origin of the vehicle or reveal how much they got it for at auction. They would only show us window sticker price and how much they were losing in the deal. At that time they informed us that at some point we were going to have to settle. We went home that night and found our new vehicle at another dealership. In the end we were forced to settle or potentially pay thousands in attorney fees. The settlement left us in the negative. Our family went through enormous emotional stress including family summer vacations being cancelled and trying to make a decision that felt hasty and forced. Through our situation we learned that Xavier is not a man of his word and only cares about his pocket book. Trying to profit off of his shop's error and our families loss is not the ideals of an honorable, respectful, family man that he portrays to be on commercials and billboards through his advertising. Xavier Cortes also owns other dealerships around Washington
