Super fun place! Great custard! I loved this butterscotch sundae! Classic flavor! I worked somewhere very similar in high school!

Had lunch here in 8/9/21 @ about 12pm... Great place if u are looking for treats. I got a burger special with choice of chili or dries. I got the chili. I absolutely live chili. But this was way watered down. More beans than chili. Not meaty at all. No flavor. Like warm for a temp. Fries that my buddy got were greasy and just ok. Burger was lame. It was to have lettuce in it. It had a flake. The cheese had no flavor. The patty was good and the bbq was ok. But not much in the burger. Now if custard is your thing: stop here. If u love food.... Don't eat here. Staff was friendly. Drive thru is always busy. Clean inside. Bathroom was kinda dirty really kinda gross. It this is a nice place if u want to stop in for some custard or treats. I got a Diet Pepsi and my buddy for a root beer. The machine was off and our drinks didn't taste right. Whole experience was over $30 bucks. Kinda expensive for food and a treat. My sundae was SMALL. Very small. And was like 4.50.... I would suggest a cone. They are huge! Ans look very good!!! Drop in and if u have a positive experience, which I was seriously disappointed.... Leave a positive review if u like the joint. Until the next review, -Steve-O, out!

Good stuff! Easy in and out parking lot. Open late during the summer, till 9pm. Custard was vanilla or chocolate, went with vanilla and added butterscotch. This night they ran out of banana, so a banana split was not a option.

Custard was good, the food not so much. Would go back for the custard and just eat elsewhere next time.

The entire storefront is glass window facing the east, so it is brightly lit and gives you a nice view of the city. The dining area is filled with art, some of which was created by a family member of the owner. The drawings are for sale also. There is a small selection of jewelry and souvenirs for sale as well. Toward the back there is an upright piano a couple guitars which belong to the children who will sometimes come out and play. They have a complete breakfast menu and several lunch items. The café is only open until 2pm so the menu leans toward breakfast. Coffee, cappuccino, lattes, and hot chocolate are their specialties. Everything is made from scratch in that delicious home cooked style. as the previous review stated, the hash browns are great. A must have here. We were there early on a Saturday morning in February and were the only customers. We got to know the owner and the history of the coffee house. They are super friendly. The wait time may be a little longer than you'd expect from a large restaurant because they only have 1 cook. If that turns out to be the case let me tell you it's worth the wait. I would list this as one of my favorite breakfast places.

We wanted a quick snack while driving from the UP to Green Bay and came upon The Dairy Barn. As we…read moredrove in, we thought the place was inside of the nearby gas station, but we quickly found that it was a separate building with quite a number of cars and customers surrounding it. There was a nearby setup of picnic tables and all seats were taken, with people eating burgers, custard, and other treats. To order, there's a choice of either a drive through, or you can queue up at one of the windows in front. We just wanted a small snack and ordered two items. Service is quite quick; everything only took a couple of minutes to come out. Extra Small Pistachio Frozen Custard ($2) - This was the weekly special and we got the very last dregs in the frozen custard machine. We saw the employee using a spatula on the top of the machine to push through the rest of the custard. As such, we're not sure if the custard was the freshest and best churned or not. The sweetness of the custard, mint green in color, first comes through, followed by a bit of artificial pistachio flavoring. The strange thing is that we had pistachio frozen custard from another place the previous day and this tasted exactly the same. I wonder if everyone just uses the same commercial pistachio custard base and churns it differently? This particular one is quite smooth and creamy, but also a bit on the softer side and less dense than other frozen custard I've had. I can't complain when this is only $2 though. (4/5) Fried Cheese Curds ($4) - I read about the curds here on social media and I have to agree that these are quite good. The batter on the exterior is pretty thick and fried to a fantastic crisp. The interior is stretchy, milky, squeaky as they stick to the teeth and have a more firm chew. The exterior batter has quite a bit of salt added after it comes out of the fryer, making this a treat that almost begs for custard or some other sweet beverage/treat on the side. (4/5) I'm not sure there is anything that they actually make in house, but hey, the prices are so cheap and they execute everything well enough that it makes me not care. I wouldn't make The Dairy Barn a destination for food or anything, but it's a solid place to visit while you're on the road. Note that they change the special custard flavor every week starting on Wednesday until they run out, so if you insist on the special flavor don't wait until Tuesday! Bathrooms - One single unisex room located on the right side of the exterior of the building. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4/5

There are tables all around and the water isn't too far either. Going up to the window, we ordered the cherry frosty. The women responded with "you know that's the syrup, right?" I am not sure if it was a long day, but looking back she seemed a bit short. This was double downed when we received our order. Which was completed in a timely manner. I looked at the scope of ice cream expecting something a little different. Rather than her asking or showing any concern, it was - "I said it was a Sunday." I'm not one to ever argue with the one that makes my food so I smiled and grabbed it. Also, a note about tipping culture. If you expect/ want a tip, than give singles back so the person is more inclined to tip. If you just give a five or a ten back, don't expect them to tip more then what they paid for. The icecream with cherry was very good. Unfortunately, I don't see us coming back to this establishment. Seems a little pricy for what we got. Plus the service was a side of sour.
