But today, while there, we found some hard to find Labubu boxes. Say what? But I noticed they were all taped shut with masking tape. Turns out, my inclination to be skeptical was right. The boxes were real, but the packages inside were FAKES. Unabashed fakes. Being sold for more than retail. Eyes were bulged. Heads were extremely lopsided. Hands were upside down. Tags had misprints in the name. When we asked the young girl behind the register, she admitted that they only bought the bags and then put them in the real boxes. So... all but admitted to selling fakes. And yup, no refunds/returns. Helpful. Sell sham stuff then conveniently have no refunds/returns. This store knowingly bought fakes, likely Lafufus, to sell them in legitimate PopMart boxes at full price. We wont shop here again. Zero integrity. FULL Intent to swindle. Never again.

As I am getting them out of the store bag to wash, that is when I notice one of the four is for the wrong school. Oh just perfect. An exchange will have to wait as we are 40 minutes away. Then I meet Jacqueline. On the day of the return I explain that I just need the right school shirt, an easy fix. An honest mistake was made, but we can make this right within minutes. I am given a hard time, asking am I sure this was the location I got the shirts and did I not check them when I pulled them off the shelf. When I explained the staff member helped me. Stating that as she works here, she was looking through the shirts with me to find the right size and school, she is the one to grab the shirts so I did not question her choices. Jacqueline scoffs at me when I say this. My face must have said "excuse me", as that is when Jacqueline stated she wasn't giving me a hard time. Seriously? She was actively giving me a hard time. She started to become rude, more aggressive in her words and a shift in her stance, until she looked up and remembered that someone was setting up a table in front where the school shirts were and watching our interaction. All of a sudden she makes a comment about how I was not remembering my visit correctly with a fake laugh, but then stated since I just want to exchange the item she can do this for me. As if this was my fault, but out of the goodness of her heart she will help me out. While we never did see any Vineyard Vines clothing (not to say it isn't in there) we did see similar styles and immediately gravitated towards the bright and fun colors of some Southern Tide swim trunks. Aside from men's clothing, Island Pursuit also has styles for women and for kids. Everything seemed to be colorful and fun and in the theme of coastal, nautical and resort ware. Being familiar with many of the brands they carry, like Toad & Co and Tommy Bahama, I know they specialize in higher-end, quality styles.
