We just bought a used cat from Key Scales. I would highly recommend NOT purchasing from them. They would not let us use our credit union financing unless they add $1000.00 to the cost of the car. $1000.00 I consider that beyond ridiculous!! I also can't refinance the car for 6 months without a $75.00 penalty Also, 5 of their lenders ran separate credit checks on both of us. Another thing is they made us wait an hour and a half to tell us they wanted an extra $1000.00 to use our own credit union. Their dealer fees are also $895.00. Minnesota in my 2019 Ford Escape after your dealership was completely unable to resolve the problem. My technician in Minnesota fixed the issue within approximately 20 minutes at no charge by updating my iPhone and performing a few simple technical setup steps so that Apple Maps would once again communicate properly through the vehicle speakers. Meanwhile, I was informed by Tom in your Key Scales Service Department that Apple and Ford had compatibility and update issues affecting older vehicles like my 2019 Escape, that the system could already be considered obsolete, and that some updates supposedly could not even be uploaded. What frustrated me most was being told by you that your Ford Sync Team would charge a $246 diagnostic fee, plus $200 per hour for additional updates and labor, with absolutely no guarantee that the problem could even be fixed. To then discover the issue was resolved elsewhere quickly, professionally, and at no charge was extremely disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. As a senior customer, this experience left me feeling that customers like myself can easily be subjected to excessive diagnostic charges and costly technology-related service recommendations that may not even be necessary. In my opinion, your Key Scales technicians and Ford Sync support personnel need substantially better training regarding Apple CarPlay, iPhone integration, software updates, and modern smartphone compatibility issues. I expected significantly better technical knowledge, customer support, and problem-solving ability from a Ford dealership service department. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, discouraged, and with very little confidence in the guidance I was given. I have called 3 times to get a price for an oil change and have never been able to talk to anyone. I ask to be put through to service and all I get is the service department voice mail. I find it odd and unprofessional to not answer the phone when a customer or potential customer calls. I will not be using that Ford dealership when there are many others around. I would give them no stars, if possible, after my recent warranty replacement service of the LED tail light assembly on my 2015 limited edition 50th Anniversary Mustang with 14,000 miles. I did not notice the damage when I picked up the car as it is located on the bottom of the unit next to the bumper underneath the tail light which extends over the damaged area. The car sat in my 3 car garage for 2 weeks until I took it out for a cruise and hand washed it when I got home. It was driven and returned to my garage with no stops. The dealership claims something must have fallen on it, banged into it or it was hit by something while it was parked in my garage. In my opinion, there is no way the area underneath the tail light could be broken without damaging the tail light itself. They "didn't do it" so the customer is a liar. I'm stuck with a damaged, expensive part. All warranty work, recalls and routine maintenance have been performed by this dealership as well as on our other Ford vehicles. No more. I went in to get my battery checked because it kept running down for no reason. It was 3 months inside the warranty period. I was told that the check would take about 2 hours because they had to check each cell. I was also told that the check would be free of charge. While the battery was being checked, I talked to a salesperson about buying a new truck. I was working out pricing details regarding the type of truck and all the packages. While I was talking to the salesman, the service guy walked over and said there was nothing wrong with my battery and handed me a printout of the results. I continued on with the salesman and he agreed that because of the symptoms the battery was displaying, that there must something wrong with it. The service guy walked over and told me that they were going to charge me for a half hour time just to check the battery. The charge: $123.00. I made it clear to them that I would never be going back again. The sales guy was flabbergasted that I would have to pay just to have the battery checked. Rotten customer service. If you like bait and switch, this is the place to go. Using an employee discount plan I was never told that I did not qualify for the powertrain warranty. Only after I began signing the documents I was informed that I would not be covered. My biggest mistake is I didn't walk out the door at that point. Had an amazing experience with David helping my Mom purchase her new Escape. He was friendly, patient and helped ease her mind in purchasing a vehicle on her own. The experience, however, was greatly tarnished when released to Erin, Finance. Her hard sell of an extended warranty virtually made us walk out the door until I told her point blank we were not interested and to move on to the next subject. Her attitude turned quite negative for the remainder of the transaction. She needs to work on her professionalism (remove her jokes and snide comments about paying for expensive repairs) and read her audience better. We have leased/purchased over 40 Ford vehicles and are quite willing to take our chances without a warranty on a quality product. I got my recall done for my toe links a couple years ago by ford and thought it was all fine upon pickup but little did I know it wasn't. There was an alignment done by them once completion of the recall that wasn't done properly and has cost me 4 new tires due to it. So I went in and spoke to someone about and was told that Ford would not take responsibility for their mistake and that I would have to pay for it. We didn't even see one below $71K! It's a beautiful truck, truly! We're currently driving a F150 lariat hybrid and want to trade for a "gas" vehicle. If you look at the attached picture - Kelly Blue Book puts our truck between $44K - $48K... Key Scales Ford offered $39K!! Our truck is in very good condition!! Bought a '19 Expedition limited with 1200 miles in 2021/09. Salesperson Fred Almonte was superb. Took excellent care of use. Car came with 3rd party warranty plus remaining factory warranty. Started to have transmissions issues at 19K miles. No transmission tech available at dealership, no one they could refer us too in service department. Brought in for service at various times throughout next 6 months, trying to get tranny serviced and other minor glitches fixed. Service appointment times were 8-10 weeks out, no live person to schedule them and everything must be done online. Wife had discussion with service manager over taking care of customers, eait times etc., usual customer complaint issues. Had Transmission rebuilt by Mullinax in Apopka and 3 followups. All is not well but much better. Today airbag light comes on, I make call to service department to schedule for work, get told my file has a DO NOT SERVICE CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION on it. Really?!? You got your feelings hurt because your paying customers told you they were not happy and that you need to do better? Shame on you. This is a vehicle that was supposedly used for 2 years by the owner of the dealership , Mrs. Scales. 1200 MILES when sold. less than 20 when things started going wrong and the selling dealer wont even work on it. We saw a car on the internet at this dealership and wanted to look at it. As soon as we got our of car, Calvin Reed was out the door greeting us with a big smile and handshake. We told him the car we wanted to look at and in no time he was taking us on a test drive. He could answer every question that we ask him. I start this review by saying do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership. We went in for servicing on a vehicle and unfortunately traded our existing vehicle for a new truck. This dealership plays the bait and switch game to the tune of us being out of pocket in fees alone, which they clearly state are for profit within the paperwork, of $3000. However they put all the paperwork in a thumb drive and you never see anything but a computer screen to sign on, we asked for paperwork but we're told they had no way of printing it we would have to do so at home ???? Not only will they not hold themselves to the deal made they play the sleazy salesman technique of well you didn't get it writing and our sales people don't ever lie you must be lying to us. Also they were more than happy to charge $350 for the servicing knowing we were in contract to purchase a new vehicle and not rebate that into the sale price. The reputation is so bad of this dealership that after we looked at their Facebook reviews which gave them one star and multiple negative reviews, including now ours, they removed the review section from their Facebook page. The only phone call we managed to get from this dealership was the sales manager complaining about our review!!! In review; The relationship between the sales person and the purchaser is such that the purchaser is not. honest and the salesman never mislead. If you don't have it in writing it was never spoken of and the purchaser must be lying about the conversation. In the current environment there are no rebates there is no discussion of a discount on the sales price. Regardless of what department you need to speak to nobody ever returns the phone call you spend 2 to 3 days leaving messages until you talk to someone. When you leave the dealership with your vehicle they want nothing more to do with you the sale is done they have their money and you were on your own. The fact that after the dealership called us in regards to the review we left on their Facebook page and subsequently then removed the section where you could leave a review and had you been able to read the reviews it is clear that we are not the only people who had problems with keys scales for it. They only had one star going back two years of reviews, apparently the bait and switch is continuing with not letting consumers know that they have a poor reputation when it comes to selling a vehicle. We were working a deal until we hit a snag on a trade in (that I had said wasn't necessary to make a deal) and the Finance Manager came over. He was condescending, rude, interrupted me, and responded to my honest inquiry with "I'm pretty sure I've sold more cars than you've purchased." (And we weren't even talking about F&I!) He was negative, insulting, and ensured we will not be purchasing a $60k+ truck from this dealership. THOROUGHLY UNSATISFIED!!! Vehicle: 2000 Ford Ranger. I told the customer service clerk that my fuel pump had gone bad and needs to be replaced and was told that a series of diagnostic tests should be done to get the whole picture. Quoted approximately $1850 for replacement cost with Ford parts. OUCH!!! I was told that they could use aftermarket parts which would cost me approximately $1350, but there would be no guarantee of repair. Still- OUCH!!! Later at home, I googled the typical cost of a fuel pump replacement in my region of Florida (Lake County) and the cost ranged from $300-700. I don't know whether FoMoCo, the Dealership or the Service Manager is a crook, but I'll never take another vehicle to Key Scales. Henceforth, I will advise friends and family to choose another dealership, whether purchasing or maintaining a vehicle. UPDATE: I called AAA to have my truck brought back home. When I climbed in to set the parking brake (it's on a slight incline), I noticed wires hanging out of the dashboard, then noticed my stereo sitting in the passenger seat. Why they felt the need to remove my radio/stereo is baffling. Even if the mechanic (Jim) thought it necessary, he should have re-installed it. I just called and spoke with a "Don Garrett" (General Sales Manager) who advised me to call back on Monday (02/26/18) to speak with a "Kenny" (Service Manager). Here went on to add, "I don't know why the radio would have been removed to service a fuel pump issue." Monday. February 26th- I called and asked for the General Manager. Had issues with the parts manager,Tom, telling me my missing part from a $600.00 accessory kit I purchased there didn't come with my kit even thought it lists the part on the Ford accessory website and was listed on the parts list included in the kit. After driving forty five minutes back to show him how to do his job he finally admitted it was supposed to be included. Three days later he finally gets a complete accessory kit and never offers even the smallest apology for my inconvenience. Spoke to the General Manager Lenore, in person, and like Tom she didn't offer an apology either and stated " you did receive your accessory kit". We are nearby for the winter and needed an oil change. We called and were told no appointment is necessary. We went 45 minutes to the dealer, a service advisor approached asking us what we needed, 'an oil change', "that will be at least a two hour wait", we then related the phone call where we were told to just come in. That didn't phase her, we asked when an appointment was available, she then told us to call a business that books the appointments. Our reply was that we are here, and we can't make an appointment for here? Her reply is that is correct. In other words, they really want the burden to be on the customer to do business with them! The purchase went well of course the sales guy which was the best there has left. However, all those warranties and extra services you purchase that you are supposed to get refunded for when you sell the vehicle is a whole other story. I sent in the bill of sale and it's been 5 weeks. When I called the finance department to check on the status I was told it could be 90 days. I have bought/sold over 12 vehicles in the past 15 years. This has never taken more than 2 weeks. My husband just got a new car and received his warranty refund from Kia in 8 days. So why does it take this dealership 90 days? I took my truck in Feb 10 2023 for a very slight oil leak. They called me on Feb 13 and gave me an est for a new turbo. Brian, the service manager said it would be about a week. I had to be out of town until Feb 20, so I authorized the repair. I called on Feb 16 and they said they had gotten the wrong parts and had to reorder. I called on Feb 20 and they had not received the parts yet. They said it was delayed due to weather. I called on I called on the 27, when I got back in town and they had not received the parts yet and had to reorder them again. I called every other day to check the status, in fact so often the receptionist recognized my voice and knew I was going to ask for Brian. I called on March 2 and told them I needed a car Monday to take my wife to the airport. Brian told me they could not loan one but could rent one for $55.00 a day. I asked about a discount on a rental, since this was their problem, and he refused. I wound up using a shuttle service to get my wife to the airport. By March 3rd I had had enough. I called another dealership in Kentucky and they shipped the parts to me in 2 days. It cost me $135.00. I'm not sure I was credited on the invoice or not but Brian assured me I was. On March 8 I dropped the parts off and they finished the repair. There are several problems here. 1) They should not have started the repair until they had the parts. 2) They should have called other dealerships to obtain the parts when they saw it was going to be an issue, especially for several weeks. This should have not been my responsibility. 3) They were not very apologetic for the long delay 4) They should have offered a free loaner 5) I believe they should have give a discount on the repair. I went to a Ford dealership thinking I would get better service. I own about 12 Ford trucks and have been a Ford owner for 40 plus years. We took our van in bc the brakes lights were on. They told us brakes & sensor needed to be changed. They ordered parts but they didn't arrive in time. They wouldn't give us a refund. We ended up calling the credit card company to dispute it. We took it to another for dealership. Turns out the wire to sensor was broken. So the brakes didn't even need changing. (2) Service: walking in and waiting in queue, it can take 45 to 60 minutes wait time per customer to see a service advisor to get your car serviced. Four people waiting in queue to see a service advisor to get their cars serviced can take up to four hours. (3) Service: with an appointment, it can take 3-4 hours or more wait time for an oil change and to get the tires rotated, or for a battery to be changed. A witness and myself, looking at our watches, observed all of the mechanics having no car to service for 45 minutes, standing around, laughing, and talking, while there were a long line of cars to service. (4) Service: without an appointment, either of these above service items can take 8-10 hours or more wait time. Service: without an appointment, it is best to get a rental car and call the service department the next day to see if the service work has been done. Obviously, any major servicing more then the above listed service items, (such as installing new brakes), could take a full day or more wait time. (5) Service: the mechanics have great difficulties in figuring out why a five year old Ford car is not charging the battery, why the battery keeps running down, and in understanding the electronics of it, especially a hybrid model. (6) The cost of servicing can be very expensive and not competitive. read more

Took our Focus in to have a recall fixed. Since we're in there, asked to have the horn fixed, and a warning message looked at (Hillside Assist Not Available). Brandy figures those will take 2 hours ($270.00) 24 hours later, car hasn't even been looked at. Brandy promises there's one car ahead of us... Another 24 hours pass. Brandy never checks her voicemail? Sure doesn't return calls. By now, it's Friday. I call to inform her that I'll pick up the car at noon, don't touch it. At noon, I show up. Went by the dealership to see if they could help me understand the towing limits on my f150. The first sales person didn't have any clue, he just told me what he could pull with his pickup. He carried me over to another desk and said this man knows everything, he said right off the cuff(didn't look at truck or computer) he said 12,500 lbs. I left and called the ford factory customer service and they kept me on the phone almost 45 minutes and told me I could safely tow 9600 lbs. seems the guys at this dealership just tell you anything.
