I had one of their dinner specials - veal parmesan - expecting it to be "good", as their food always is. However, this rivaled what I have had at "upscale" Italian restaurants. My wife tried a piece, and said "But...this is a diner..." Dawn is an excellent server, and Skyler is always friendly when we come in. Overall, great food at reasonable prices!

The staff are friendly and the food is comforting. I got a half order of biscuits and gravy and a side of grits. Plenty of food, the grits are creamy and the sausage gravy tastes like home. My sister ordered eggs over easy, which came perfectly cooked and unbroken. She also gets her hash browns with extra onions and raves these are the best caramelized onions in town. Flamingo Diner is a great little spot, good homey food, for a reasonable price. Don't sleep on this hidden gem in your breakfast rotation!

Bar seating, inside table seating and outside patio seating are all offered. I might mention that my outside table felt sticky. Not sure if this is the type of table or a table that needed to be cleaned. Either way it was an uncomfortable experience. Couldn't slide my dishes and my arm sleeve felt like it was sticking to the table. The Service: Although my server forgot the honey I requested for my tea and instead of inputting the WiFi password in my iPad, as requested, briskly told me the WiFi password (she thought), which it wasn't, the service, other than that, was efficient and provided with a smile. (NOTE: Another server was more than happy to input the password for me without a hesitation). I might also mention that my server served my unusual tea request (which so many servers get wrong) absolutely on the money without hesitation. This may not sound like a big deal but, for me, it most assuredly is. The Food: I ordered the Big Breakfast which consisted of two eggs (I chose over easy), two sausage links, two strips of bacon, I chose a biscuit as my bread offering and those "must have grits. Along with this dish I of course ordered my, always a challenge to get, English Breakfast tea with honey and "steamed" milk. Although as mentioned above, other than the honey, my server did bring my tea WITH steamed milk! Good start! Within a few minutes, my dish arrived. Everything was just as ordered. The over easy eggs were cooked exactly as ordered and the biscuits came WITH extra butter. Unfortunately, the sausage was your little "standard" link sausage, the bacon was on the crisp side and the biscuit was good but a bit gummy. Now on to the big question,, how was those grits. I have to say, all my friends were right. Those grits were by far, the best grits I've ever had. Creamy, but not runny, needing only a dash of salt, they were so good, I took two orders of grits to go. The Bottom Line: My "Customer so what" would I come back? Although the rest of the meal was simply OK, for the grits alone, you bet I'd return.

The server was kind and she also took out my dish from the bill. Overall, it didn't feel authentic at all, which was very disappointing.

Went to this establishment on September 25th 2015 and was promptly denied service because a women in my party with a mobility issue had a service dog which is a blatant violation of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). The owner who refused to give us his name claimed that since they're a private establishment they're exempt from federal law, the police arrived shortly after we refused to leave and informed him that he was in fact very wrong and gave us his name so we can file an ADA complaint. So if you do have a service dog I recommend you go and order nothing but water during the lunch rush otherwise just avoid altogether. oh also it's going to be funny when they get hit with that ADA fine haha read more

Key West does it again. Every time I've eaten here I've had nothing but exceptional food. I strongly recommend the pot pie. One of the best values on the menu is the steak and eggs. If you come on Friday or Saturday they may even have prime rib. I had the steak and eggs. I requested my meet rare and they honored my requests without having to send it back. It's hard to have a steak cooked rare. This location is on our rotation of restaurants we like to frequent. The menu is the same all day. If you don't want to wait too long I recommend going in the evening. read more

#keywestdiner in Stuart over charged me by 30.00 and won't give me back the money they stole...I was all alone when I bought a dinner special and they charged my card $53.76... I left a 3$ tip, and they turned it into $30.00!!!!!! .... I will let my voice be heard that they refuse to reimburse me for what they stole!!! It has been 3 days and the owner George said he would not give me my money back that it was my banks fault????? I used to like this diner, bu no longer. I am now somewhat disabled and when I entered with my service dog I was aggressively thrown out, despite explaining the federal ADA law and showing a copy of the law and service dog certification. The owner said he "doesn't care about the da-- law. I say now I don't care about his diner. I hope this angers you, too. None of us can ignore federal law, but he does. read more

I just watched a snotty little cashier give an older veteran a problem because he had his legitimate service dog with him on THE OUTSIDE patio. She berated him and when I told her what she was doing was illegal she stated " the owner doesn't care" . We were on a roadtrip heading up the Florida coast and found this jewel of a diner! The atmosphere was great and the service was fantastic. Let's talk about the food for a minute. I literally went home and drank 1 liter of cold water. I can still taste the salt. NEWS FLASH! Too much salt is bad for you! It's bad for your arteries, your heart, your brain and it's very hard on your kidneys! Management wouldn't comp me even though we were only there for 20 minutes. Kind of felt insulted. read more

Went for the first time this morning for a to go order. Service sucked they seated three couples that came in after me. Hash browns where nasty and they forgot part of me food. Call back to complain and the lady comment was what do you want me to do about it. Will never go back. The rye toast was good. read more
