I would never, ever, ever recommend Keyrenter to anyone wishing to keep their property liveable, insurable, or compliant with local laws. I'll start with the ending: they cost me roughly $65K in damage to my property due to improperly vetting tenants, lack of keeping up with repairs, lack of inspections, lack of transparency, and even lack of giving owner access to the property. Nearly every appliance was broken, I had water leaks, and 3 active fire hazards on the property: the furnace which had the wrong sized filter crammed into it, the dryer vent which hadn't been cleaned in years, and a broken fireplace that was emitting gas. First of all, they will get anyone to rent. Their standards are very low and they do not care if the tenants destroy your property. They also won't fix your property - even if you ask them to and will pay for it - between tenants, leading to ever worsening damage over time. Second, their inspections are all brief walk-throughs, if they do them at all. They claim they even let the tenants "self-inspect". Keyrenter will never let an owner do an inspection with them to get agreement on what is wrong and what needs to be repaired. They do not check your sprinkler to see if it works. They don't check to see if the dryer vent is cleaned. Or if the fridge still works. Or if the microwave isn't just hanging by a thread. When they don't check these things and appropriately charge the tenant upon move out, it all becomes an owner expense. At one point I had multiple broken appliances and was told "Oh that was the previous tenant, not this current tenant" so I couldn't charge the current tenant. Or the previous tenant due to the amount of time that had passed. These things were never reported to me, the owner, and when things like that aren't reported, they continue to degrade. Which attracts tenants who also don't care for the property and it continues to worsen. It's a vicious cycle with the owner left holding the bag. Their inspections are basically just a walkthrough by a third party and not even anyone who "knows" the property and they missed things like roof leaks, ceiling leaks, and water coming into the property through several entry points. They also missed that a new furnace was being damaged because of improper air flow. This was due to their own filter service not providing / using the correct sized filter for the unit. Third, they like to play the incompetence card. When you ask for something to be repaired, they won't do it and then claim "Oh that was 'so-and-so' (someone not with the company any longer). When you ask to see the property, they will wait for days to respond until you give up and then claim they were too busy or missed your request. When you show them how they aren't even keeping the property in compliance with local Denver rental agreement laws, they just 'aw shucks, we didn't know this was the law..." type thing. Well guess what? As the property owner, you ARE on the hook for keeping your property complaint with local laws. It's best to use a Property Management company who knows how to do this and is committed to keeping your property complaint and liveable and you, as the owner, informed. This kind of behavior cost me about $65K in repairs all at once on just about everything in the house. And it cost me several months in lost rent while I had to have the repairs done. And Keyrenter did not care. Very little of this was able to be charged back to the tenants because Keyrenter claimed it was previous tenant damage. They didn't care when I reported the problems initially. And they didn't care when I handed them receipts to show the damage they directly caused to my property that made it unhabitable, and as one realtor put it, a "tear down at this point." And they wouldn't hand over Move In / Move Out inspections so that I could see when the damage occurred. Not that it mattered, because if it was previous tenants who did it, it was unrecoverable at this point anyway. All they care about is that your property is rented and they get their monthly fee. But they will run your property into the ground. If you look on the Better Business Bureau site, there are multiple complaints there too, and I think it's only a matter of time before there is a Class Action or some kind of lawsuit against them. It's an old trick in the book that I've heard first hand from other leasing agents. There are more 1 star reviews. Let that be a sign of how unprofessional this company is. My experience with Keyrenter has been incredibly disappointing. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and unprofessional. Despite repeated requests, serious maintenance issues were either ignored or poorly addressed -- including unresolved habitability concerns that made the property unsafe and unlivable. When I notified them in writing about these issues, their responses were dismissive and delayed, often deflecting responsibility rather than working toward a solution. Their so-called "repairs" were superficial at best and failed to meet even basic safety or health standards. It was clear that tenant well-being was not a priority. To make matters worse, the company attempted to enforce lease penalties even when I provided legal grounds for early termination due to uninhabitable conditions. They were quick to cite policy but unwilling to fulfill their own obligations under Colorado landlord-tenant law. Keep copies of every email interactions you have with them like I did; I kept all emails and photos and screenshots for the past year! I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for a safe, habitable living environment or professional management. Renters deserve better than this level of neglect and disorganization. They're only proactive when it comes to taking your deposit and giving you a lease, after that they don't exist, work never gets done through the so called work meld, their maintenance people are being ripped off and not getting paid appropriately, they nickel and dime you for things that make no sense and leave critical home maintenance care to you (I.e. changing filters to units that don't even meet ADU standards). read more

Update: I've been with Keyrenter for a total of 3 years now, and Alexis has been my property manager throughout this time. I have to say that she has been absolutely fantastic to work with. She's knowledgeable, professional, responsive, kind and really great at follow up. Over the last couple of years Chanelle has also joined the team, and both her and Alexis have been very pleasant and easy to work with. They did a great job at managing several difficult situations that we've run into and made the entire process as smooth and stress free as possible. If I were not selling my property I would still be working with Keyrenter. I simply couldn't have asked for a better property management team. Do not trust your rental property with this firm. They claim to use technology to do property management better, but that is just code for saving money and doing no work. I had a leak at one of my properties and instead of sending someone immediately they had some one out of state call me and ask me what I think they should do. That was a $10K mistake. It is impressive awful. They also raised their take-rate mid-contract. I am not sure what expectly they do expect cash checks and call out massively over price service technicals. Staff turnover is also a real issue, they lost so many people I was never sure who my poperty manager was, and when I called to ask, they didn't seem to know either. From the very beginning that I toured the home to the the application process, to the last point of signing a lease it was an easy going experience. I also read all the great reviews on them so it's obviously many more that feel the same way. I recently left Keyrenter, as a property owner, due to gross mismanagement, lack of honest, helpful, and timely communication. I felt as though the staff I was assigned were belligerent and antagonistic to me as the owner and did little to protect my investment. Keyrenter expects the property owners to be responsible for not just repairs/maintenance but utilities as well. The contractors used by the company managed to destroy more than they fixed in my property. Reviewing my property after the last tenant moved out shows a lot of damage to the property that could have been avoided had they bothered to do any in person inspection. Every time I tried to find out any information, I heard from them at the very end of the day or not until days later. Due to their gross negligence I am left with thousands in future repairs to a property that I took pride in taking care of and was hoping to have as an investment. I would NOT advise people using this management company and to look elsewhere for help. read more

They charge you for everything and I mean everything I had my house professionally clean when I moved out and they still sent company out to clean what was already cleaned totaling $700 for it then they charge me another $700 to replace the lightbulbs , batteries in the Smoke detectors and a bunch of other petty little chargers that came up to $700 $100 really to change the batteries in three smoke detectors! This company, nickel and dimes you for everything also the landlord told me that he wasn't gonna use them for his rental company anymore because they charge him an arm and leg for everything as well. The most unorganized, scammy and uncommunicative group. I feel bad for owners who use this business as a third party between renters. As a renter, I wish they wouldn't! They tried to charge us $1,000 for something they didn't realize made zero sense. We had to site the lease agreement to them several times before they understood why the charge was incorrect. On top of that, they make you pay for things that are pointless. Sorry, I don't need help replacing a filter (that they don't even manually replace), or understanding my credit score. This "tenant package" is forced on you and you can't get out of paying for it every month. We decided not to re-sign our lease and already, they're sending us a million unintelligible text messages telling us they're showing our house on several days and times that don't work for us. Text after text. They aren't asking if these days work, they're TELLING us that's what they're doing. And when we respond and tell them we literally cannot accommodate that day or time, they don't even respond. We asked for an organized list of the showings they're planning to have at our home and they don't have one. That makes great business sense! Anyone giving them 5 stars is not legitimate. In 10 years of renting and dealing with landlords this company has been by far my worst experience. The company spams you with non stop questionnaires and clunky communications which are not helpful. Its quite burdensome. The thing is you fill out information for them and they send 10 more communications asking the same thing. It feels like coorperate mandated policies in order to improve operations but who is actually processing the data? The company appears so incredibly disorganized I have no idea what they do in terms of actual property management other than collecting rent. My ac unit stopped working during the summer and my house was routinely over 90 degrees for two months. They called me and said they wanted me to buy a new unit and pick it up and they would reimburse me. What an outlandish request. They might as well put me on their payroll. When I asked for reimbursement for the major inconvenience, they said they would cover the month rent but it turns out what they offered me was a 50-dollar credit. They also mandate you document dozens of photos onto a very non friendly user interface. When we moved out we were billed for the complete routine clean up of the apartment. Its shocking because we left the place better off than when we got there. If I were you if you and have no other options rent here but the company just is not that great. I dont know what their issue is if they grew too fast or they have too many buildings to manage but it doesnt seem anyone knows whats going on. read more

I have been very impressed with the tenacity and the resolve of Keyrenter (Denver) to address the initially rocky and uneven experiences we had initially. I've been working with them since around April 2023 and currently have 5 properties under their management, which on find to be a good value as the ongoing management fee is reduced with more properties (7% of monthly rent amounts, only slightly more than the 6% I pay in Omaha). Although I was quite discouraged and disappointed with some initial aspects of Keyrenter's performance, the management team listened attentively, addressed my concerns directly and clearly, and once we got on the same page things were far, far better. I have appreciated the desire to correct missteps and to improve service. Standouts I've worked with include Misty, Shelli, Antonio, Phalisia, and Pamela. One of the hardest things to do is to give a business another chance. I'm glad I have. Having those difficulties discussions is uncomfortable for everyone, but it can lead to improved trust and collaboration. I'm willing to revise this upward in another few months as well. read more

Please use a different property management company! I am a property owner. My relationship started well with some basic promises, like : - consistent communication - bi-annual video check-ins with tenants - checking with owners before vendors work is completed These seem like easy promises to keep, right? But none of them were kept. I constantly had to tell my property manager to check with me before sending THEIR vendor out to fix things, as they charge a lot to do basic things. There was no follow up with the property checkins either, which would have been nice. Instead, I found out that my property was trashed, holes in the walls, pets at my property when I told them no pets, carpet completely ruined, results in me spending over 10K to fix things after an eviction. Then the property manager tried to get me to pay the eviction cost, when I read through THEIR service agreement and had to educate him on KeyRenter's own contract. IE they pay for the litigation up to X amount. Another example is my property manager set an out of office reply stating he was too busy to answer regular emails. Who does that? Dear KeyRenter CEO - hire more people if current customers are not important enough to be emailed back! It's almost comical now that I'm done with KeyRenter. His out of office said to call his supervisor, so I did, but never got a return call. Overall very glad to be done with this company. Not sure how long they will be around with other better options in Denver. read more

I rented with these people. Its a complete joke. Sure, if you need a place to stay, do what you have to do. But the amount of respect they have for renters is slim to none. And they will put all sorts of fun clauses to ensure they have the upper hand, including 3+ showing per week when you give them 60 days notice to move out. When they started showings, I mentioned on a whiteboard to let future tenants know...there is no A/C and this place can be 90 degrees in the summer (the lease contract REQUIRES you to keep it under 85). Guess what? They would hide the whiteboard when a showing happened. :) The people I worked with, Elena was one, was fairly incompetent and no one actually understands the property they are showing. They will nickel and dime you the whole way too, charging for things they can't provide. Part of their $30/month fee is they are connected to other landlords and you can buy a home through them! Guess what? They had no one to work with, no one was selling. Sure, sign of the times. But also....extra money for no reason? Hmmmm...if it smells fishy....its fishy! read more

My husband and I leased our home out last year and used Keyrenter as a management company. This was the first time we had ever leased out a house. We decided to use a management company, despite the monthly fee, as we both work full time and have a toddler and just didn't have extra time to spend dealing with tenant issues or any maintenance repairs that would come up throughout the course of a lease. At the expiration of the lease term, we decided not to renew the lease as we wanted to sell the house. We notified Keyrenter, who then notified the tenants, who moved out by their scheduled move-out date. We were instructed by Keyrenter not to enter the house until after their move-out inspection was performed so they could properly document any repair work needed. On 6/30/2021, I received an email from Keyrenter with the results of their move-out inspection and the needed repair work. The inspection indicated that there were only a handful of basic repairs needed. That same day, we gave Keyrenter the go-ahead to perform the repairs. On 7/6/2021, I sent an email to Keyrenter stating that we had gone to the house, and in addition to the needed repairs that Keyrenter found, we also saw that the downspouts in both the front and back yard had been crushed. I received an out-of-office message from Keyrenter stating that they were closed on 7/6/2021 for the 4th of July holiday. I followed up again the next day, 7/7/2021, again asking when the repairs would be completed as we were trying to get our house ready to sell and needed the repairs done prior to selling the house. The property manager responded stating that she was busy in meetings that morning and she would respond to me that afternoon. I did not receive a response until the following day, 7/8/2021. The message I received the following day stated that the repair work would be performed, but they did not know when it would happen as their vendors were busy. The property manager also stated that they were hesitant to charge the tenants for the crushed downspouts as they didn't have any records of the downspouts not being crushed prior to the tenants' move-in. On 7/9/2021, I responded to the property manager with a screenshot of Keyrenter's own inspection from 6 months prior, indicating that the downspouts were all in good condition. I again stated that the downspouts needed to be replaced and that we expected the tenants to be responsible for the cost of the replacements as they were not damaged prior to the tenants moving into the house, and Keyrenter had even noted that they were not damaged during their inspection 6 months prior. I again reiterated the urgency of the matter as the house had been sitting vacant with no repairs performed and we were waiting to list the house for sale. Today is 7/20/21 and I have yet to receive any response. The downspouts have never been replaced. After doing several of the repairs ourselves, our house has now been on the market, is under contract, and the inspection is today, which I'm certain will make mention of the downspouts. We used Keyrenter to save ourselves time/stress. Instead we paid $200 every month to Keyrenter and are still having to deal with everything ourselves. If you need a management company, I would strongly recommend using a different one. read more

Key Renter was by far one of the worst property management companies we've had to work with. That said, be prepared to be lured in early. They have an amazing initial presence and are happy to get you caught in their web - good photos, speedy communication, due diligence with tenants... once the tenants are in there, it is almost like you're working with a different company. Where to start? We made an arrangement with them early on to do an additional charge each month from Spring through Fall for yard maintenance. They were happy to take that additional revenue each month but they did not maintain the yard. There were weeds, it was unkempt, it was not mowed, parts of it were dying. On the few occasions that we would see it, we'd have to remind them of this agreement. At one instance, they mentioned it was the tenant's responsibility and we had to remind them of the agreement and the money they had recently subtracted for yard maintenance. When they would do routine inspections, we would never receive pictures despite paying for them and we would have to follow-up numerous times to get any evidence that an inspection was done. The staff turn over every few months. I cannot tell you how many property managers we have had. That has led to inconsistent communication (or complete lack thereof), as well as abhorrent behavior on more than one occasion. Upon the tenants leaving, the inspection they performed was generously lackadaisical. We had to show them areas of damage and they were completely unreliable to provide fixes. This group is full of complete swindlers. I would not recommend them to anybody that I know. In fact, I'd go out of my way to ensure strangers never used them either. read more

They have illegally entered my residence several times, refused to fix ac for 2 weeks while I was occupying the residence and have ignored all emails about returning my security deposit after nearly 2 months. Please avoid at all costs. They seemed great at first, but things quickly went downhill. We spent nearly 2 years living in a home with faulty plumbing, windows that were constantly stuck or broken, and a sink that was rusting due to improper installation (along with countless other issues). Maintenance showed up numerous times and would leave without resolving anything, and it somehow became my job to track them down. Roughly an entire year after making them aware of the plumbing issues, we were offered a monthly credit which was hardly compensation for all of the hassle it caused; we only accepted out of sheer frustration. Eventually we decided enough was enough and it was time to move at the end of our lease, but it didn't end there. Maintenance issues aside it was nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone at their offices. Every line available would go directly to voicemail, and messages were returned with vague emails that didn't actually address the issues at hand. They were too lazy to even do a final walk-through or answer their phones on our move-out day. After we finally moved, Keyrenter decided to wait a full 60 days (the maximum amount of time allowed by Colorado law, which left no time to dispute charges) to return only a portion of our security deposit, and only after leaching various fees from it. I have never once been hit with fees like this, especially considering all the ill-addressed maintenance issues we were made to deal with. They will exercise every aspect of Colorado law (which does not favor tenants) to make sure they are able to charge you all the petty fees they possibly can. They will actually charge you for changing a lightbulb... yes, a lightbulb, amongst many other equally ridiculous charges. It took reaching out to their corporate office for someone to finally call me back after weeks of leaving messages. The amount of time and energy I had to pour into this was absolutely mind-numbing, and in the end I decided to cut my losses and move on rather than pursuing it further. I'm sure this review will be met with some defensive response on their end, or some nonsense about how they're "disappointed to hear about our experience" or how much they "value communication", but it's all lip service. They don't actually care. It's no surprise they have such great ratings on google since they ask all new tenants to leave a review upon signing a lease, and before they realize how dysfunctional Keyrenter actually is. If they put half as much energy into answering their phones as they put into responding to comments on google reviews, then maybe things could have been resolved more amicably. read more

Do not rent from these Slumlords. My unit (3100 Huron St.) has been w/o AC since July 20th. Keyrenter & unit owner Kevin Emmett Snow were told a year ago that the HVAC needed to be replaced but they refused. They have dragged their feet & made half-assed attempts, meanwhile we are in the midst of a record triple digit heatwave. It is over 90 degrees in the unit for 20 of 24 hrs a day. It is nearly impossible to sleep & the pets are clearly suffering. But Keyrenter doesn't seem to care and has once again left for the weekend w/ no help for us. This is only the beginning of the problems with Keyrenter, Pamela Gravning, Kevin Emmett Snow & Brandon Scholten. I have been here 18 months and it has been nothing but problems and poor attempts to cover up or fix as cheap as possible. The unit was filthy when we moved in, including hair everywhere from the previous tenant. Maintenance call are a constant here and the repairs are slow to not happening. You have to constantly remind them. Despite over 20 maintenance calls for various issues & the complete failure of the HVAC unit & their weak attempts to fix it, they refuse to let us out of the lease to find suitable living conditions. All they see is $$$ and they do not care about ethics, quality of life or providing a good product. If you rent from Keyrenter, expect high levels of stress, poor communication, many maintenance calls and followups and taking days off and meeting repair people, and an overall lack of caring for your concerns. If you know any of the people above, ask them why they treat people the way they do, where are their ethics and when did they choose to become a slumlord. read more

I have a very bad experience with Keyrenter Property Management Denver. I have one property being managed by the company. My property manager Jeremy never responds to my calls. I have to write multiple emails to even get a response from him. It is a night mare being a property owner to be treated in this manner. My current tenant has not paid the rent. My property manager doesn't even answer my call. He is too busy to even correspond to a property owner, then i doubt his professionalism. They collect more fees than they mentioned for management. Have been living in a unit for a year. The house is nice, but the back unit didn't have ac and got really hot in the summer some weeks. They said they would reimburse the rent for one month and ended up flip flopping on their promise and just gave up 100 bucks or something. Strange company. They asked me to pick up the ac unit and pay for it and would reimburse me initially which ive never been asked to do. They also require you to send them quarterly photos of their properties to a very non user friendly app. Some days i feel like I'm doing their job for them. Horrible. Unprofessional. Misleading. We fell in love with a townhouse we saw on Zillow. We wanted to submit an application as soon as the listing was posted, but Keyrenter's application process explicitly states multiple times that applications cannot be submitted until a physical viewing of the property has been completed. The agent, Andrea, who showed us the house told us we were the first to come see it. She told us that she was the only agent showing this house and enthusiastically encouraged us to submit the application ASAP after the viewing because we'd be the first ones in, and since the company works on a first-come-first-served basis, we'd likely get the house. Our viewing was at 11:40am on Tuesday June 4th, and we left the property at around 12:15pm. As soon as we got home, we completed and submitted our applications, and anxiously waited to hear whether we had been accepted. After 7 business days, we still had not heard anything from the company, so I called the leasing office. Gabriel, the agent who answered my call, informed me that someone else had submitted an application at 11:58am, beating us out for the first application to be processed and accepted, and let me know they were moving forward with that applicant. He assured me he would keep me updated, but never followed up. A few days later--today--I called myself since it was clear I wouldn't be hearing from him. We confirmed on the phone that I was the first person to view the house, and that the rules are explicitly stated that a property showing must be completed before an application can be submitted. Given the fact that I was still in the midst of my tour at 11:58am when the other applicant submitted his application, and that no one else had seen the house yet, obviously the other applicant eschewed the rules of the application process and submitted an application BEFORE viewing the property. This should make his application (and the subsequent lease he signed that Gabriel informed me today had been completed) null and void. I would have submitted an application days prior had I not heeded, respected, and followed the rules Keyrenter explicitly writes in its instructions. Keyrenter misleads applicants, does not adhere to its own rules, and if that isn't unprofessional enough, doesn't even have the courtesy to return calls or keep applicants updated even when they are explicitly asked and promise to do so. This whole saga was handled inappropriately and should be remedied by voiding the lease with the applicant who cheated his way to the top of the list, and Keyrenter should hold to their own rules so that others aren't cheated the way they cheated me. read more

During our 2 year living situation as a tenant: 1. We had ongoing water pressure issues that greatly affected every single time we showered. It never got resolved despite our numerous complaints. We were met with bouts of little to no water pressure each time we showered - absolutely miserable. 2. We had multiple light fixtures go out shortly after we moved in, so we had an electrician come. He told us the way that the wiring was done was dangerous and could potentially have resulted in a fire. 3. One of the bedroom windows was broken, so we couldn't open and close it properly. We had a maintenance guy contracted through Keyrenter come to fix it. He evaluated the issue, said he needed to buy parts and then left, never to be heard from again. 4. A piece of the chipped, rusty kitchen sink that was improperly installed got lodged deep under my nail while I was washing dishes. 5. The oven broiler had some sort of gas leak or malfunction - the few times we attempted to use it made us extremely lightheaded and sick feeling before we deemed it completely unusable. 6. During the height of the Covid pandemic / pre-vaccine availability, they scheduled random walk throughs and contracted maintenance jobs that we didn't request (one time they weren't wearing a mask despite our requests) - we found it to be extremely inappropriate given the severity and uncertainty of the situation at the time. When we mentioned this to them they proceeded with scheduling anyway. During the move out process: 1. We tried getting in touch with them through three different phone numbers to ask a few questions about where to leave our house keys, etc. and received a voicemail response with instructions that didn't make any sense. I decided to follow up and clarify my question via text with one of the property managers, and instead of answering my question they just said "perfect, thanks!" 2. We had to wait 60 days to get our security deposit back, and when we finally got it, they took just under $500 from us. We figured that with all of the unresolved issues that they made us deal with that this wouldn't have happened, along with the fact that we spent plenty of time thoroughly cleaning upon move out. After receiving our security deposit and list of itemized deductions, we spent an entire work week (Monday through Friday) trying to call and email the multiple phone numbers and email addresses that we could find to try and get some sort of explanation. We finally decided to cut our losses and gave up trying because of how impossible it was to reach them. Having called their rental property my "home" for 2 years, I was left with the impression that they couldn't have cared any less about us or have any sort of empathy for what we had dealt with while renting with them. Don't be fooled - the 5 stars on Google are because they ask new tenants to leave them good reviews. read more

These people were the worst of worst during the move-out process of our last lease. Several attempts were made to reach out on the status of our deposit, and no responses back until 65 days after our lease ended were we gifted with the great surprise of our deposit being reduced by over 72% because of the eye-gouging charges this agency sent back to us. We were amazed at some of the charges they were able to craft up. Not to mention the amount of hours we spent deep cleaning the place before leaving. I have never been so blindsided in the 10 yrs I have been renting. They do not care about the tenant (or the landlord for that matter), and they are not reasonable at all! Document and get pictures of every single thing you can before you end a lease with this agency. I'm just glad to be at a new place now without these bozos overseeing, where I can reasonably chat with my landlord and establish an understanding! read more

Shout out to Kerry for fixing the firepit, and to the other maintenance workers these past two years. Almost every maintenance worker has been kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Keyrenter has been responsive with maintenence requests, however they claim the owners do not want to invest in repairs for an old house. If you rent an older house, understand there could be more stress. read more

I have had an excellent experience (as a tenant) with Keyrenter so far beginning with the search process and unto the move-in. I worked with Joe who helped me quickly lock down my lease and he was super easy to communicate with. Fast forward to pre-move in I worked with Ciara who is also very professional and easy to communicate with and promptly responded to all of my inquiries. My move in was easy and I like the photo inventory that they provide of the unit which makes it easy to track the condition of the place. I look forward to carrying out my lease with them and I'll keep you posted should there be a need for any maintenance requests and I'll report on how that goes! read more

I foolishly reluctantly decided to stick with Keyrenter to lease one of my rentals once again because I am living halfway across the world and to switch managers would be to costly and time consuming. Mistake! They are attempting to charge my future tenants a $200 pet fee and $30 pet rent, which I found out is payable to Keyrenter and not me! The rental market in Denver is strong and they are having trouble finding me tenants, probably because no one wants to pay the above fees as well as an unreasonable application fee. This is only the latest and one of the many issues I've had with Keyrenter. Ugh. Searching for a new Property Management Company. read more

I wish i could do zero stars for the second time! I wrote a review one year ago after we left the house we rented from Keyrenter. Worst management team ever! Last month we were contacted again to remove the review. We were open to find a solution and meet half way however after reading the contract they sent us to sign, we decided to refuse. Their offer was ridiculous and not even close to all the extra money we had spent to leave + the stress and the missing work days for their team bad organization. At least 3 different people (vendors and brokers) tried to enter our private property with keys and no appointment while in the house. So bad! They also tried to blame the vendors instead then taking responsibilities. On their website they use a lot of good marketing words, I wish half were true! Do yourself a favor and use someone else. There are many more great companies in Denver that will really help you, without a headaches. read more

I apologize in advance for the lengthy review but you will want to read this before you ever rent with keyrenter properties. This all began from the very first day I moved in. I am a nurse moving from out of state and had a virtual tour of the carriage home that boasted a large yard with a two car driveway. Granted it was my mistake for trusting a virtual tour. I arrived on the weekend when the office was closed after driving 12 hours to get here with a trailer. The driveway was so overgrown when I pulled my car in I could not even get out of it much less fit two cars in ever. The window locks were all broken the back side of the fence was chicken wire and I have a German shepherd who can clear that easily. Once inside we were greeted with dead beetle bugs strewn across the floor, peppered in the window seals, along with a broken ac unit in late July, it also looked as if it had not been cleaned or touched in months. After spending my first weekend here in a hotel room and extending the rental for the trailer they finally got back to me Monday to get it all fixed. They did give me the option to get out of the lease losing my deposit, however I did not want to stay in the hotel any longer so after repairs were made I moved in. Since then I have had to email with issues at least once a month with issues of SEVERE bug infestations, the construction workers next door taking down the fence, with a response and turn around time for help being anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It was also not anywhere stated in the contract that the main home with different renters were on the same electric, water, and exact same address making it impossible for us both to have separate wifi's. This meant that the first few months of utility bills were paid by me alone and never mentioned prior to my move in. The leasing company simply asked us to work out our own way of splitting it. With the endless list of issues I requested that my lease be shortened as I cannot have internet in my home now they then shortened it to 7 months and charged me a monthly convenience fee for doing so. THEN, on December 14th just before Christmas I was out of town and received a call that there was a patch in the water pipes in the ceiling that was faulty and had BURST! Water flooded from the roof down pouring out my door with a few inches of standing water destroying a lot of my things. I did have renters insurance for the items damaged in my home but no home while repairs were made. It has been one MONTH now without a home and the house is COMPLETELY gutted. Key renter has not gotten back to me with any definitive answers or refunding me. I have sent several emails to Pamela Gavening asking for resolutions and finally she emailed me with a "we are still trying to get answers for you" email on the 31st since I have sent 5 emails and left 3 voicemails with no response. This is not only negligent and unprofessional but honestly cruel to put someone through this especially on the holidays. I will do my best to warn every person not to rent from key renter properties in Denver. read more

Went over a month without a bathroom due to maintenance issues. They set up sprinkler checks 4 weeks in a row and I had to keep calling them to let them know the winterization was already complete. Had standing water for a week that I texted them every day about before they would reply. Incompetent and unresponsive. read more

We were provided a home that was NOT up to spec per their lease. From dirty carpets, to burnt out light bulbs all throughout the home, an giant hole in the ac bringing in exhaust fumes to the home, and plenty of other issues. Upon move out we were told that we are responsible for everything the owners chose not to do prior to our move-in. Even the lightbulbs that they left burnt out are now being deducted from our security deposit!!!! Absolutely ridiculous and in no way is this a good place to rent from. Do not listen to the 5 star reviews as they are likely fake, read every one star to see how poorly you will be treated and how you will need to fight for your security deposit. The owners even left nails and anchors in the walls that are being charged against the secret deposit just because we didn't repair them for them absolutely insane. read more
