What an amazing experience. It was my first time in a piano bar and I was impressed by the performances. It was a dueling piano performance and the performers were also dueling over audience's money; You can ask either of them to play your favorite song by putting a tip on your favorite singer/ pianist's piano. Performers are very talented and not only they can play all sorts of music and sing beautifully, but also they can entertain the audience. One thing is for sure, they can play whatever you want. There is a fee of 5$ to get in the night we went in, but it was definitely worth every penny. To request a song, you need to tip the performer (10-20$). There is an ATM inside, but just remember to have cash on you to avoid the transaction fee. No food, they only have drinks, I just sat and listened to the songs as they played and had a lot of fun, so I cannot comment on the quality of the drinks. Will definitely be back for more. read more

The piano playing was decent, but how the piano players objectified the women that came on stage was crass, disrespectful, and not at all funny (it was like watching a bunch of middle school boys trying to look cool in front of their friends). Ironic how one said "I don't want my mom to know that I know the words to lil Wayne's lollipop" but was perfectly fine singing about the women on stage giving blow jobs. this place was super fun. we were there on a VERY quiet sunday night during memorial weekend, maybe 15 people tops. and were definitely the loud, obnoxious group in the bar- all 4 of us. but despite the lack of people the atmosphere was fun. the piano players are very talented and did a fantastic job of really putting on a great show for you. Baby Got Back, was the BEST performance i have ever seen. those boys shook their asses better than i ever will. the bartender was super attentive, always making sure we had drinks and suggesting some really fun shots. and even let me dance with him behind the bar. can't wait to go back and see how this place is on a crowded night. read more

I went for one of my good friend's birthday celebration. Fantabulous place. Live entertainment shown through pure talent. Can't go wrong with that. These pianists make me want to re-learn the piano all over again and the bartenders keep making me want to buy drinks. Especially the jell-o shots. And you'll see why when you order it. Come here with a huge group-- the more the merrier. The only downside is when it gets crowded. I had to stand up the entire time I was there, but I had a wonderful time regardless. read more

I've been to Seattle a few times, but am far from a local. So when our friends suggested a piano bar as our Saturday night entertainment, I thought this was a joke at first. I mean, come on, I travel all the way out here and this is our idea of fun? I didn't want to be rude, so I just agreed and tagged along.. plus, I mean, booze.. so it can't be that bad right? We were told to arrive early and then we get stuck waiting outside anyway (had a reservation, which you MUST do). I pay $5 cover, meh, and then get seated between a 10 year high school reunion and a bachelorette party. OMG. Just kill me now. I'm old, crotchety and almost 29. I was not having it. Not to mention the bar menu has no prices on it. I at least want to be aware how much my "T Pain Bombs" are costing me (seriously, that's a real thing). But then the music started. I thought the opening monologue was a little pushy for tips when I feel like its pretty obvious you need money to request a song to begin with, but the show quickly jumps to upbeat music and within minutes even the stuffiest old crone would be tapping their foot. And holy cow, these guys are GOOD. I've been to piano bars before, but I'll admit I was absolutely blown away by Zach and Aaron (with Kalen swapping in and out). We stayed over 4.5 hours (when I originally prayed we would be able to leave after 1). I loved the entire show. Great music, great talent, and the guys know how to work the crowd. Even the typically tedious shtick of pulling the birthday/bachelorette girl up on stage was always entertaining and unique. I'm sure over time these get repeated, but the reactions were always TOO good. These guys work hard and are absolutely deserving of your tip: while I feel like some piano bars simply play some filler songs for cheap or during breaks, these guys make every song an event that the entire crowd gets behind. I will absolutely demand we come back here when I'm back in Seattle in January. I'll also admit that this review might be a little biased based on my mega crush on Zach. I kinda fell in love with him before he even started playing, but "Billie Jean" sealed the deal. read more

We came here last night for a Bachelorette party. We got decent seats near the front and the atmosphere was fun and the pianists were great. Got charged two different prices for the same drink, and our waitresses rarely came back to take our drink orders. But wait, this isn't even the best part. One of the few times that the waitress did come back to the table, she spilled the order of drinks everywhere. The person that really completed our night and made us want to leave was the guy working the front desk. Nobody seemed to know his name as he's apparently new. We brought a cake in for the bachelorette party that had a few airplane bottles on it for decoration. He took them off the cake and said he needed to take them even though nobody was drinking them. Then, about 20 minutes later, he comes up and says, "I'm gonna take that cake away, you guys are making a huge mess". I proceeded to say that it was our friends bachelorette party and she was having a good time, and it was fine. He kept persisting saying "but you guys are making a huge mess everywhere" (we weren't). We felt completely insulted and policed by this guy like he had nothing better to do than harass our table. We left and probably won't be returning if this guy is working. read more

Not only was I over charged, but so was a friend on the same night. We both have called several times and even emailed to get the matter resolved and they refuse to return any calls! I can't speak to the mixed drinks, that a lot of people on here complain about, but the beer is great. As for the entertainment. This is the most talent I have seen in a bar/club ever. They have over 3000 songs in their repertoire that they can play on-the-spot and by request; anything from Billy Joel to Twista. The players are extremely witty and feed off the audience and their participation and energy through the night. Some people are complaining about their songs not being played/made fun of/ cancelled/etc. This process is explained at the beginning of the show and if you're paying $1-$5 for a song, OF COURSE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PLAY IT. If there are requests carrying $20+ on the table, you'd be an idiot to expect them to drop everything and play Material Girl by Madonna. And if you fork out the money for something like One Direction, when the recent songs have been Brown Eyed Girl, Rock and Roll, Johnny B. Goode and Don't Stop Believin', you'd be foolish to think someone won't can your poor excuse for musical taste within the first measure. Also, if you're going to be on your cell phone, especially in the front row, expect to receive some attention from the whole room. You will be called out. You're in the best seat in the house at an amazing piano show. Just look at the beautiful people playing orgasmic music on stage and be happy with that. The exception would be twittering (twatting as Jordan calls it), facebooking, or instagraming the awesomeness that is taking place and encouraging your friends to come feed your drunken frenzy at Keys On Main. Maybe even dance with some Tipsy, way-to-older women with way-to-friendly hands that seem to frequent the place (probably with way too much money too, so get a free drink). Just go enjoy the misfortune of soon-to-be brides that will be drug up on stage by request of their (not so) friends and sung dirty versions of your favorite catchy tunes. Plan on witnessing post-menopausal youthfulness and new found confidence and passion exhibited by the lurking packs of cougars that roam these parts. Watch the Microsoft programmers dance on stage with exuberant confidence, fueled by their extremely low tolerance of alcohol, usually with the aforementioned mountain cats. Come watch a piano get violated by the masterful fingers of talented musicians. read more

Cheap and yummy drinks for sure. On a Thursday Night I attended Keys on Main for a Bachelorette party the drinks were under $4.00 per drink. The atmosphere was great but once the other tables started to leave the mood for sure had a drop. The piano guys were entertaining though and it is worth going to with a large group. read more

Alriiiiiiiight it's time I comment on my love for Keys on Main. Upon my move to Queen Anne a little over a year ago, Keys quickly became one of my fave spots to hit up on a regular basis. Like the players will tell ya, it's the best free show in the city! Thursday is my favorite night. The typical pianists on Thursdays are Jordan and Aaron and they have their shit down. They are not only talented singers and piano players but they have their little act down pat and it's completely entertaining and hysterical. I never leave disappointed! There has even been a couple instances where I have suggested a song that they didn't know but then a couple weeks later, I request the same song, and they have learned it! There was one night we requested "Love on Top" (clearly they didn't it at the time), Aaron left the stage for a few minutes, learned it, came back on stage and performed it. I MEAN COME ON. Doesn't get better than that! I should preface this by saying that I really like to dance, but the boys encourage dancing on the stage and will happily banter with anyone deserving of it and I think that's why I keep going back. At the (almost) end of a long week, it's just so nice to listen to some sing along tunes, throw back a couple beers (I drink mine with a straw) and enjoy a casual night out surrounded by good people. Where do I begin? First of all the bouncer at this bar was a total D bag. He walked around glaring at people. I was standing next to my girlfriend and her friends as there was no seating left. He walked up and told me I had to keep the "aisle" clear so people could get through. The "aisle" he referred to was a narrow little path that snaked through a crowd and there was no rhyme or reason to it. I would've stood somewhere else but there was no where else to stand. I'm pretty sure they were over max capacity. You know it wasn't so bad that he was keeping a pathway for people to get through the over crowded bar. It was more his attitude and his demeanor. You know the type, the bouncer thinks he's some sort of authority figure and takes his job way to seriously, and he's just praying that tonight will be the night that a fight breaks out the piano bar so he can finally punch a soccer mom in the gut. The piano players are pretty talented but this dude paid 22 dollars for them to play his song. They got into about 10 seconds of the song and someone comes up and pays them 25 dollars to play something else. Well they stopped what they were doing and played the new song. It's kind of shitty, my friend paid for his song and it got cut off. At that point I wanted to take 22 dumps in their little bowl of money. I've seen more class and showmanship from that bum downtown who bangs on buckets and metal plates. If he had a Yelp page I bet his rating would be higher than this turd of a bar. Love Keys on Main! I'm a huge fan of the atmosphere and staff. This is a great place to come in for a fun night of drinking with a few friends or a large group. All the piano players are EXTREMELY talented (we are talking the BEST I've seen) and engage with the crowd regularly. They have such a broad array of songs they know, I'm never let down when I request something - from Spice Girls to John Denver, they always make it happen. This place is great fun! The musicians are some seriously hard workin guys and very funny and talented and crude in a good way. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive and the guys at the door were very nice. Very fun night out with a group of friends, you will be singing and dancing and having a blast. Be sure to bring cash (5's 10's and 1's) for song requests but if you forget, don't worry there is a cash machine on site that is very reasonable. Great drink selection but no food so be sure to eat before you go. This place is pretty small and fills up so be sure to get there early.
