What a fun night at Keys on Main. 5 stars to the piano guys who definitely put on a show. Very lively. We had a fun time. We didn't have reservations but got there early and the guy at the door let us know we could grab a table once the music started on any of the open tables, fuss this gives time to the people who reserve to show up or lose the tables. The show is great. They don't have any food (bummer!) Drinks were ok. I can't believe they charge you for soda water even though you are ordering double drinks and spending a good amount of money. Lame.

I had an amazing night here. Loved the ambience and the music. The musicians knew most of all the songs and you will also laugh. Definitely going back.

Such a fun bar! They are amazingly talented and it's good silly fun! There is a lot of seating so don't worry about having to stand. I went pretty late so I'm not sure what they really offer but worth the try!

$5.00 per person to reserve a table, and $5.00 per person cover charge to get in. I'm ok with the cover charge, however paying $5.00 per person to reserve 2 seats at a banquet table is ridiculous. Had I known that prior to going, we could've just walked in. Probably would've had better seats too. Once the show started though, we had a blast. The guys on the piano are fun, lively, and get the crowd really going. The drinks were delish too. They had just the right amount of alcohol to mixer ratio.

SO MUCH FUN!! The piano players are amazingly talented. We went on a thursday and there was no table service. Only one bartender working, and she worked her butt off. There was a line the whole night. Recommend getting reservations and arriving a little bit early. Bring cash so you can request songs with a tip. They do not serve food so we went out beforehand, but I think you can order from nearby. Also, even though the website mentions ladies night and cover charges, that info is outdated. Thursday is not ladies night, so no $4 drinks. I payed $12 for a strawberry lemondrop. Not too bad, but I wouldn't go here for the drink. Come to sing along!

Matt the manager was faced with staff not showing and a CO2 malfunction with soda spraying everywhere but he managed to make good drinks and the show did go on. This was a Fun night! With a group from LEGO adding to the variety of songs they rocked hard and 'Everything was Awesome'. Talented musicians, excellent duo on the pianos. Great way to spend the evening

There's a good amount of seating in the platform area and a large open floor in the middle. A lot of people also stand/dance on the same platform as there's a lot of leeway for you to move between areas. I never really do coat check because I'm paranoid about not having my things on me, but the one here is easy and reliable. The only real issue was the photo booth which only worked for the first half hour or so. I'm assuming it ran out of film or something because at some point, it just kept taking people's money without taking any photos, which was brought up to the staff. This isn't necessarily on Showbox since the photo booth is provided by a vendor, but I would've appreciated an "out of order" sign. If this happens to you, you can visit the vendor's website and call for a refund!

Joining them tonight were Cornelius Mims (bass) and Michael White (drums). Though the set was besieged by an on and off hum coming from the equipment and an issue with a computer, they did not disappoint us. Instead of their more recent material the group took us down memory lane, it worked! We arrived early for dinner before the first show and were seated on the mezzanine level. Our server Nikki was very welcoming and took our order. We ordered drinks--an Old Fashioned and a Sauvignon Blanc--along with appetizers. Our appetizer selections included calamari served with lemon aioli and spicy red chili oil, and the Aegean Meze Platter. The platter featured grilled eggplant, baby carrots, cucumbers, dolmades, Mama Lil's red peppers, marinated artichoke hearts, assorted olives, tomatoes, and house-made hummus and olive tapenade. We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers. For dinner, we decided to order full meals, which we don't always do here. One entrée was the Linguini Del Mar, featuring sea scallops, Gulf prawns, Alaskan Coho salmon, and clams sautéed in a garlic, white wine, and lemon butter sauce, served over linguini and topped with Parmigiano Grana. The seafood was fresh, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. My only unreadiness was the dish didn't include mussels, which from my perspective, would have really made it fantastic. The second dish was the White Gulf Prawn and Avocado Caesar salad. It included prawns, hard-boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, romaine, and Tuscan kale tossed in Caesar dressing, topped with croutons and grated Parmigiano Grana. I sampled it and found it very good. We also added a couple orders of the Jazz Alley Cornbread that included butter and honey. The corn bread was delicious folks!! We decided to end our dinner with dessert. I tried Key lime pie, and my wife ordered a sundae. Okay, full disclosure I love Key lime pie!

The venue is stunning -- full of majestic arches, ornate architectural details, elegant balconies, and a grand old-theater atmosphere that immediately makes the evening feel special. Even before the performance starts, you already feel like you're having a real night out rather than just attending a show. The massive multi-tiered seating area is very impressive, yet the acoustics still felt excellent and immersive throughout the performance. One thing we especially enjoyed was spending time outside beforehand looking through the illuminated displays and posters for upcoming productions. It really builds anticipation and adds to the magical atmosphere of the evening. Whether you are seeing Phantom of the Opera or another performance, the Paramount feels like one of those classic theaters that turns an event into a memorable experience.

The touring production of The Phantom of the Opera at Paramount Theatre was absolutely fantastic…read more The cast was incredible, and the production itself deserved a much better audience environment than what the theater allowed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst theater etiquette experiences I've ever had. During the first act, a man seated behind us repeatedly sang along during the performance. When I politely asked him to stop, the person next to him sarcastically pointed at the stage and said, "The show is over there," while the behavior continued. Around us, multiple people talked throughout songs and scenes, and later in the evening I even saw someone openly filming the show on an iPhone. I eventually had to leave my seats (Main Floor 2, Row G) and speak to management because the disruptions were so bad I couldn't focus on the performance. The only solution offered was seats in the very back of the orchestra. By that point, the experience was already frustrating enough that it took a while to calm down and enjoy the show again. What's most disappointing is that this is the SECOND time I've experienced terrible audience behavior at this theater. I previously saw Back to the Future here and dealt with nonstop talking during that performance too. I attend theater regularly in Southern California at Segerstrom Center for the Arts and also frequently see shows in New York City. Ushers there actively monitor audience behavior and quickly shut down disruptions. At the Paramount, it felt completely unmanaged. For the prices being charged -- around $350 for my tickets through Ticketmaster -- audience members should not have to deal with talking, singing, and filming throughout a Broadway performance. Amazing production. Extremely disappointing theater management and audience control.

Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. If you are ever in the area and have a skill you would love to share, go share your art. Find your copy of Purple Rose at JamesVThePoet.com

I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.
